    OMG! I needed this video! I am a momma just deciding to homeschool. NEVER did I have a plan to homeschool. I have been a career momma as a nurse. Then God has really convicted me about staying home with my kids, homeschooling and foster care. It has been so hard for me to make the decision to quit nursing and be a homeschooling mom. God is callinge deeper to a relationship with him, and raise my kids for him. I needed this reassurance to listen and obey him.

      you can do it! I dropped my ballet career and my photography business and I have found SUCH HAPPINESS!!!! The world would not think so, but serving my kids and speaking the Lords name all day has brought us joy and peace. YOu will love it!

    All I can say is thank you, for posting this. I am so blessed that you spoke so freely about your love of Christ and your family's commitment to make him priority. I am about to start homeschooling for the first time with my 10 & 8 year olds in about 2 weeks. This video is exactly what I needed to hear. Such a blessing.

    My story is the same as yours! I never wanted to be a homeschool mom. But, God called us to it. We knew January of this year that we would homeschool. We planned to homeschool this fall but with the closure of the school in March we decided to withdraw our two kiddos out of public. I have a 7th grader, a first grader and now a preschooler. God is so good. I wish I would have done this a long time ago but God’s timing is perfect. God bless you! Thank you for sharing this video. ♥️

      I began considering it last year when my son was in 3rd grade in our local public school. He was having a difficulty with his attention in class, which lead to difficult w/ comprehension, his love for learning was tanking etc/ etc. After multiple meetings w/ teacher, school admin and team evaluations, IEP put in place the year was 3/4 over and we were not seeing any improvement. I decided there must be another way! This was not working at all. After prayer, my husband and I we believed that homeschool was the best way. Best for our kids to learn our family values, in an environment that helps them learn and love it . (Our 8 year old daughter included at this point) Our year is just starting and we feel very encouraged and hopeful. Thank you for sharing your experience. Would love to hear your story and how you ended up here :-)

    I appreciate your perspective and blessed by your video! I have a different background because I was homeschooled all the way through, and now I'm homeschooling my 6 and 4 year old boys and 1 year old daughter.... it's so nice to hear what my kids *aren't* missing, from being homeschooled ☺ One thing that surprised me when I started this past year, is that homeschooling isn't as complicated as I thought! Right now, so much is just real life, training my kids, spending time with them, reading books, doing activities, etc, and it's so much connected with real life! and my boys love school and look forward to it! I love how you weave your relationship with the Lord into your homeschool journey, and how you were obedient to the Holy Spirit. Great testimony!

    "...like a one size fits millions curriculum." Yeah , this made me smile. Right on with your assessment. Flexibility is the hidden gem of home education. It provides so many options that are unavailable in the traditional school system. We use our TH-cam channel as a home education project and it's been a very effective use of our time which our daughter really enjoys. If we'd followed the traditional school route we'd likely not have benefited from the practical education running a TH-cam channel has to offer. We've been home educating for 4 years now and it's like parenting: one of the most difficult but one of the most rewarding things we've ever done. Thank goodness for boatloads of improvement. Thanks for the down to earth video :o)

    I'm starting my first year this September and I heard #9 a lot I I couldn't do it. I don't think I could spend all day home with my kids and not kill them. ill admit im a bit nervous but excited nervous. Im looking forward to the little to no homework for my girls and that after school heaviness. I have also quit my job to do this thankfully my wonderful hubby works very hard and can support our families path with this.

    Me too! The homework story, the spirit, not understanding why I feel to desire to homeschool-esp being ill-equipped-I didn’t go to college-I do have a certification but not enough knowledge to feel I’m capable of teaching my kids-ESP MATH😆I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed-but I just keep having this desire!

    • @monsonschoolhousewithmikae2903
      @monsonschoolhousewithmikae2903  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you are feeling that prompting then you are smarter than MOST!!! Most mothers right now are lost in the world, only concerned about themselves and their own accomplishments. Your heart is right where it should be. That is a greater thing than any college degree! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! With God anything is possible. And you will find as you do it the Lord will teach you and guide you and help you. I find myself teaching my kids things I didn't know I knew! The desire is all you need. Now move forward and let Him lead you

    Will you teach them about other religions? I do for my own - I teach them about all faiths, the good, the bad, the rare, the religions that are no longer around etc. I don't ever want to feel like I'm indoctrinating my children, so I want them to come to a belief on their own, if they choose to do so. Hope that makes sense.
    Lovely video btw xx

      I agree, I am Muslim and it scares me how closed minded homeschool kids are about Jews, Muslims, Buddhists . . . really any other religion EXCEPT christianity.

    • @ChukchiCatori
      @ChukchiCatori 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In America there's been a new wave of homeschooling which has been mostly lead by Evangelical Christian churches... so much so that they actually have some political strength (too deep to get into here)... But I think, as long as children are taught about ALL faiths in a respectful manner, then we're doing the utmost for them. Teaching only one faith risks them being narrow-minded and unwilling to see the view points of those of different faiths.

      @monsonschoolhousewithmikae2903  7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      we always talk about what other religions believe, actually almost daily in just natural conversation ;) homeschool has such a beautiful freedom about it, that we as their parents can teach them the principals that we believe in, in our own homes. It is a beautiful freedom that I have come to really be thankful for! Thanks for watching! have a wonderful day!

    The idea/prompt to homeschool my “future kids” came about 10 years ago before I even got married or had kids. I spoke about the idea with my mom and she was very supportive of it. I got married 7 years ago, we now have a 1 1/2 year old daughter and are expecting our second daughter. I pushed the idea of homeschooling in the back of my mind all these years since that first idea/prompting and “forgot” about it. My mom passed away a year ago and we went through her things deciding what to save, keep and do with her journals and such. I came across a couple of bins of workbooks and children’s book among her things and she had my name on them. As soon as I saw what the workbooks were, I realized she must’ve began accumulating some workbooks, children’s books, and ideas for me to kickstart homeschooling my kids/her grandkids. I then came across a journal entry of hers about my conversation with her all those years ago about homeschooling and her thoughts about it. All of this brought back those memories and that feeling I had back then about homeschooling my children. I do have those doubts about my ability to teach and homeschool and having patience to do it but it seems like I keep getting these “confirmations” to do it including this video. Lol. So I discussed it with my husband and he’s all for it, he actually would prefer it than sending our girls to a public school. We’re slowly starting to save so we can buy TGATB curriculum for our girls when it comes time. Thank you for all your videos and reviews! :)

    Love your vlogs. We are just starting our 3rd year homeschooling 4 out of 5 of our kids. Our youngest is 3 so she isn't doing anything much yet. We pulled our kids due to bullying and their educational needs not being met. Schools have no idea what to do with kids who learn a little differently. They try the 'slower and louder' approach for a long time and if that doesn't work, the kids are quietly filed away in the 'box of rocks' category in the minds of teachers and admins. My kids went to the best elementary in the county and they still weren't getting what they needed due to dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia. Homeschooling was not anything I ever thought of before we started having major issues with our oldest having depression and major anxiety in 4th grade. We went the IEP route but it was a joke and we realized after the meeting that nothing would change. At the time we made just barely enough to pay the basic bills we had. I didn't know how we would be able to afford curriculum for all the kids every year and I didn't know how I would be able to be with all of them all the time and not lose my mind. It was a very scary decision. We decided to homeschool anyway and it was the best decision we could have made. Not only are our kids doing better, we are doing much better financially as well. Obviously, we did the right thing.

    You are so sweet and REAL! I absolutely love this video. My daughter is now eight years old and I have been fighting homeschooling since I was pregnant! LOL it was dropped into my spirit her full curriculum and everything and there's no way to explain it… It definitely came from God. I closed my business to homeschool and I felt a little empty because I was so prideful that i owned my own business. I've never known anybody else that is homeschooled so to have such a strong feeling about it even before she was born… It's just crazy thank you for your video 😃🙌🙏🏻

    Great video!!! Yes I’m just starting to learn where to start!!!! My daughter is in 8th grade and isn’t doing well. She learns at her own pace and is falling behind. High school is next year and I want her ready!! The help at school is minimal. Plus this year she has been more sick than her entire life put together. She’s missed a ton of work!! She’s a beautiful girl and I want her ready for the world as a grown up and I don’t think public school is right for her! This video inspires me to do what you’ve done! I’m already a stay home mom, so why not!!! Bless you and your family,!The Lord has given you his sight, a sight I pray to have soon!!!

      Rough days- YES!! I want to do a video on the transition from Public school to homeschool MIDYEAR! There were things I did that TOTALLY helped but there for sure was a good 2 weeks of seperation/change anxiety shock from my boys. My advice is to push through, lots of prayers, lean on God and expect miracles. ....
      And I also have been shying away from my main reason I pulled my kids, I just don't want to offend or make moms that keep their kids in public school feel bad. God has a plan for everyone and they aren't always the same. But for our family, it was clear we needed to get out of public school quickly (hence my midyear change!)

      please watch my video on breaking down the walls of negativity, I just posted it! th-cam.com/video/5_x2r8W04Yk/w-d-xo.html It will uplift you and break down all the negative talk that is bring you down right now- Read your comment again, and see all the words that are bringing you down and causing discouragement-- "worried" "sick of my kids" "afraid" "not smart enough" "afraid" "will hate it".... I have a feeling those words DO NOT describe you at all! I have a feeling you are SMART, and PATIENT, and LOVE YOUR KIDS, and YOU ARE FUN, and FULL OF HOPE and FAITH! I know you are. Don't listen to the adversary, he is trying to discourage you and it is working :( Fight back and show God your strength!!! YOU can do it!

    This is my first year of homeschooling.... are you homeschool through a charter school ?

    • @monsonschoolhousewithmikae2903

      no, I want the freedom to choose my own curriculum and not be "checked on" ;) But I have heard many people using charters and they make it work great for their own family!

    But what do the kids think about it? Do you make a video about their opinions? Because I am more interested in their opinions. Do they like your style? Do they miss you as a mum? Do they feel free being not a Christian for example or are there things they have to confirm? Just some questions. Not meant to be rude. But for me the biggest problem of homescholing is the problem that they have to deal with their parents all day and when it doesn't feel good, there is no escape. Not every child fits with his or her parents. That is a pity, but I think it is reality....

      I talk about it here th-cam.com/video/NJ_t6etz-1w/w-d-xo.html
      My children have their own testimony of Jesus Christ. They love their Savior. There is peace in our home, the Spirit and His love are all around us. There is no place they would rather be than in our home. We are so happy.
      Thank you for your concern. I pray everyday for children in broken homes, I hope they can find Jesus Christ and find the peace and love that only He offers.
