You know this is the main reason I watch you & your family travels is because of your attitudes. You show how you've given yourselves over to the Lord by being so positive. It is extremely taxing when we are inconvenienced or are facing the unknown, but when you have God in your life you know its going to be okay in the end; and I love the way you stated that it's like "buying up" when the Lord makes it better than you could have imagined. Keep safe in your travels and recognize the blessings as they come so that you can praise Him again!

I'm so proud of you guys! "Take care of those that take care of you" I liked your video for that statement alone, that is a Creed that I live by and teach/tell others often. I own a Caterpillar C15 engine so I know the transfer pumps and injectors very well, the important thing when borke down is to never turn on each other or get down about it, I truly believe that when I am delayed there is a reason for it, there is a higher power then myself in charge of these things and just maybe he is delaying me so that I could be protected from something much worse on down the road, I mean think about that, your pump went out in a state and area you are familiar with, you have people in that area that know you, he delayed you just as he allowed the couple that knew you to be where you was, when you was there, LITERALLY RIGHT BEHIND YOU!!
I don't believe those kinds of things "just happen".

I think a van would be great for your future travels. It’s a lot of downsizing but the convenience of being able to park almost anywhere would be so great. You’d probably have to get motorcycles or electric bikes if you wanted to go exploring in certain places. Also, so glad everything worked out with your RV. So glad you were all safe.

Your experience is the kind of thing I saw that prompted us to quit RVing. Full campgrounds, breakdowns etc. 2 hints. Only buy fuel from places that are high volume sellers, not some little station out in the boonies. Bad fuel can really mess up your engine. 2. Don't go cheap on diesel engine maint. Follow the filter change recommendations exactly, no fudging. No cheap filters or oil.

Thanks for sharing your repair journey. Especially for sharing your faith, that helped you through. We had a similar problem in June on a trip to the East Coast. Ours was simply diagnosed as bad gas. It did require Towing and it did have to go to the shop. We stayed overnight in a motel next to the shop. But all worked out fine I the end and we were thankful it was not something worse. Blessings as you travel.

We were heading home to western Kansas from Fort Collins when our pickup puling our 5th Wheel wouldn't restart at the gas pump. We were in Colby, Kansas at the time. During my years living in western Kansas, I discovered that people in western Kansas are very warm and helpful. The local tow truck driver towed the pickup and 5th Wheel to a campground and backed them in perfectly to the campsite. I knew a few people in Colby from picking up patients as a flight nurse. I called one of them, and she drive me home (2-hour drive one way. I had to work the next day). She would not accept payment but I think my husband sneaked her some money later. The truck eventually got fixed.

I have a Ford Transit van and LOVE IT!!! I travel in the van by myself for pictures and work. My last son graduated a week ago. As my wife starts to travel more I will be buying a small trailer to tow with the van so we have a couple options. The van is amazing for day trips when exploring as we have everything with us for the day. The trailer will help so my wife can sleep in when I want to shoot early in the morning.

I was driving through Hoosick Fall NY towing a brand new Rockwood pop up camper and went through where they where repaving and there was sign saying bump ahead, turns out it was about a 6" bump. It broke the tongue off where it meets the main frame so I was stuck in the middle of the road. Within a few min. a guy pulls over and ask if I needed help. Turns out he owned the local tow company. He made a call and within 1/2 hour there was a roll back on scene. He repaired it and made it far stronger then it was before, and Rockwood after threat of a law suit paid me for all my expenses. This guy was so nice he did not even charge me for the tow job!

We are empty nesters and started with a 42 ft 5th wheel trailer after a year we down sized to a 2005 Fleetwood providence and I could only take about a third of stuff we had in our trailer and put in our motor home. But we love the motor home ( I have been very happy with our C7) a van is just to small for full time living.

I love happy endings 🖖🏻👍🏻🙏🏻😘 - We FINALLY got to an IKEA, and saw some of the items you highlighted in a older video, maybe a newbie for IKEA video could be a future video, we went in backwards apparently. #teamairstream. I need my space.

We are also from Florida. We bought a Thor Citation Mercedes based. We no longer camp, we're more explorers now. No longer than a couple of nights wherever we stop. Plus we can fit in a lot more places than Class A and travel trailer. We hope to tow a Jeep Wrangler in the future.

Stuff happens in between plans, that's what makes adventure, buff up on mechanical skills and knowledge. Motorhomes are always needy , so keep ahead of the needs while parked, then depart, know your ship, as they might say at sea. Just got one with a Cummins 5.9, setting sail soon, a little time in drydock first, then off in my LandYacht.

Ugh! So sorry to hear about the engine issues. Small or not it puts a real damper on your plans. Yes, I do understand it's a part of RV Life, I'm feeling your pain. Yet, God is with you providing your "Angel Neighbors" at the exact moment of need! Stay Safe and Praise God for watching over all of you!

So glad you are on the road again. Sorry it was expensive and tedious. Nothing is worse that the mystery of why my rig isn't running. Makes you feel so helpless.

Whew! I'm so happy everything turned out for you folks. Quite a coincidence seeing your old neighbors. Well, this has at least made great real-life drama for your TH-cam subscribers.

I was just at Yellowstone today and yesterday, the only downside of the campsites is that you don’t have hookups or special amenities but some of the campsites have good shade and privacy! Safe travels

We also broke down in Rapid City a few years back. I always say, there is a reason why you weren't supposed to be farther down the road. We had to spend almost a week there, waiting on repairs...BUT,, we saw Mt Rushmore, Needle Hwy, Devils tower, and more. If we hadn't broke down, we wouldn't have seen all those sights, that now happen to be on my top 5 places to see! Grateful and Blessed. So happy it all worked out well for you!

Sandra Westley from the UK that is always what we do if we want to stay for the day, and travel home at night, we pay for another night, so we can leave late in the evening, as you have to leave normally by 11am so would miss the whole day. I know your situation as in break down is totally different but obviously you cannot say what time you’ll leave until the tow vehicle turns up. Hope it all gets sorted, nothing worse than breaking down on a travel day.

I call the three local ford dealers to make an appointment because the check engine light comes on and the truck is running like poop and they tell me it's at least a two week wait, I bring it in for inspection a week ahead at my local repair shop that also owns the Car Craft supply and tell them about the issue. They Inspect the truck but tell me I have to make another appointment where I can leave it all day. Buddy stops by, does a check, it was a coil pack, I fixed it in 10 min, for $20.00.

    Team Airstream.
We are empty nesters and just bought a 36' Grand Design. Too creaky to climb around in a van.🤣
Sorry about your troubles, glad for the blessing of good people. Shout out YEAH to the campground owner that didn't charge you. Frequent those private owner campgrounds everyone!!!

Our 2003 Newmar has a 3126E Cat (predecessor to your C7) and has that same square top Heui pump. Usually when the Heui pump fails it takes out the 6 injectors too. If you didn't have to replace 6,000.00 worth of injectors too you are lucky. Safe travels.

Glad you're okay and on the road again! Told my husband about this--we have a caterpillar engine on our motorhome (A Beaver Monterey) and he is wondering how many miles you had on that fuel pump. I told him you bought it used, so you probably don't know....

    • @GratefulGlamper
      @GratefulGlamper  3 ปีที่แล้ว

About 40k miles on it. It was the original pump. Safe travels!

We are recent empty nesters and are going full time. We have a 2019 Discovery 38k. No Van Life or Airstream here.
