Please forgive my ignorance, I am new to science experiments: To make a true Tesla Tower (ie getting power from the ground) which part do I connect the copper tube that I hammer into the ground? The original coil wire, the secondary coil wire, the transistor...? Please advise. Thanks!
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does anyone know a way to log back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot my login password. I would love any tricks you can offer me
@Rayden Curtis thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
My nephew did that for science fair last year when he was 11 years old. But interestingly enough it was that high Watt lights were more effective that the puny low Watts ones he was trying to use. I don't understand jack of the whole thing but it was super cool!
People have their own life my man. He probably has a job and a family. If you had a youtube channel getting an average of several hundreds of comments per video, do you think you would go through each of them?
If you could have the bulb constructed to the frequency of the tesla coil transmitter, so the bulb no longer has to be right beside the tesla coil to light it up, how far away could the bulb be and still be lighted up? I know it is not a strong battery powering the tesla coil, which would have impact on how far the wireless transmission would be effective in lighting up the bulb? So maybe a 1 foot, 2 feet or 5 feet, what?
Good tech, have you thought of building a energy receiver that holds the bulb in a socket that can slide back and forth to show how far the bulb can get before the coil cannot power it. And maybe show us a way to ramp up the power output to make the distance greater.
The average phone today is charged through USB, which outputs about 5 volts. So 9 volts is enough to charge it, and probably destroy it, but i doubt a 9 volt battery has enough amperage to charge a phone.
Suyash Garad it's not the type of pipe that has any value here. It's the coiling of the wire which helps produce an electromagnetic field when electricity is applied. Put the lightbuld with the field and BAM! Let there be light.
Bro you are really a genius. I love you experiment. I have done it in home and that's really worked. Thanx. Nikola Tesla will really appreciate you if he see your experiment.
AWG 28 is wire with about 0.32 mm diameter (american wire gauge; the higher the awg number the thinner the wire). Note that the wire is coated with a thin layer of insulation.
Kinda curious. Theoretically speaking, could this be done without the transistor or resistor? If so, how would it be connected and what would be the likely outcome?
I must see about making it. I studied Electrical Engineering Light Current once, in the 1980's. Here in South Africa they are having regular load shedding, being power cuts on purpose.
2n2222a is a medium power switching transistor. It can't handle high power. The primary reason it burnt is due to more no. of coils in the primary winding, thus high current flow. Reduce the gauge of wire or the no. of coils in the primary winding to prevent the transistor from heating up.
Hey buddy! Thanks for your awesome video! I am also like you I love inventing things that could help us to improve our life. I will improve this concept in the future anyway thanks for your awesome video!
@@davidgarza864 hey bro, I made my own version and I stop working on it. I pursue different things instead. Maybe I will back to this and made some progress.
the wire thickness shouldnt really matter, and your 38 gauge wire should work, but just put the same amount of turns, and you might need less pipe to put it on
Wait, so let me get this straight. You think that efficient energy is a waste because it interferes with radio? I don't think that your priorities are in line.
It would make radio communication impossible. That would put us back in the stone age of technology, no more cell phones, no more TV. It's a bad move. It's also not efficient, it's convenient. But as we can cover a small portion of desert in Africa, Australia and USA with solar panels and supply the whole world with energy, I think we should do that instead of barking on about Tesla towers.
This is taking things too linearly. If we in fact had a society that ran on this technology, we would find other ways. And it is efficient (assuming a better model formed like Tesla's) considering that electrons are free flowing in the air. Harnessing that power is only a matter of time my friend. Nuclear power was once thought impossible, but that changed. To achieve the impossible, one must believe that it is possible.
Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact; it is an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration; it is a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing. -- Muhammad Ali
A tesla coil use AC current, not DC and so must have an high voltage AC transformer, and a high voltage capacitator in the circuit with a spark a gap, and yes, the secondary coil is connected to ground. So isn't anywhere similar like the real circuit xD
how much metre copper wire is needed, and can I use normal wire to put around the copper wire(the one u did at last:u put some wire upon the copper wires...)
All he’s doing is exciting the gas inside. And those power ratings is how much wattage the bulb uses with a 120v outlet. it being a 15W bulb doesn’t matter
I have a question, at roughly around 2:30, the little bulb thing is stuck through the disk. Is that a requirement? Or could I simply put that whole module on the bottom with wires connecting it?
I think you are talking about the black colored transistor. is it? If yes that thing is not necessarily be stuck to the box, you can just connect it to the circuit and leave it at the bottom.
yes, I also think that the transistor is burned because it is getting warm but how many turns are needed i turned around 300 to 350 turns of copper wire of secondary
Is it necessary to have only 2 turns in secondary winding? Can we have more than 2 windings? And is it necessary to have insulated wire in secondary winding?
Use of an insulated wire is recommended, however not necessary, You can increase the no. of turns in secondary but make sure to keep the turn ratio to about 1:100. Also, if you increase the turns, you will need to increase the supplied power as well.
I have not attached the wire coils together, i just used a 28 AWG wire that is easy to coil, therefore, i just wrapped the coils as close as possible. However, after finishing the coils, you can use some super glue over them to hold it in place.
It is a high power switching transistor that switches DC supply at very high frequencies & generates alternating oscillations. The resistor used is a 27k ohm and has a following color code: Red, Violet, Orange and Gold.

no
Do the wire gauges and coil lengths matter much? If I follow this approximately will it still work?
Wire gauges and coil lengths do matter. I used a 28 AWG i.e 03mm enameled copper wire on a PVC pipe of 2.1 cm diameter and 8 inch length.
Do you mean 8 cm length? It doesn't look 8" in the video
No, i meant 8 inches in length.
Hey I’m dumb but I want to buy the parts to make this but I can’t find any insulated hard wire anywhere pls help

If you need additional details and material links, you can look at my instructables page- www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Make-a-Mini-Tesla-Tower/
does it charge if I put my phone up to it and it's compatible with wireless charging

What material did you use for your secondary coil? Insulated Braided copper wire? Or insulated solid copper wire? Or does it really matter?
No, it does not matter. Only the wire should be insulated and slightly similar or more thick than the primary.
do you need the aluminum ball ? i just finished building one and it dosent work csn you help

Yes, you can but pipe should be hollow.
would the 2n2222a -331transistor work the same
Yes
Will have to watch the video a few times to follow it. A lot of items aren't explained, and shown so fast.
Yes, it's a shame, I'd love to have tried it but I wasn't familiar with some of the parts.
I have a 2N2222A338 transistor..... is it work?
also for the coil,it is necessary to make glue on the pictures pipe and the coil?
can I use the Cooper cable 0.5 for 9v
whats the length of the pvc pipe, thickness of copper wire
& how many rounds of copper wire.
Any length of PVC pipe will work, however, i used a PVC pipe of about 8 inches with 2.1cm diameter. The enameled copper wire i used is 28 AWG & wound about 250 turns.
There is also a schematic in video description, it will help understand the circuit better.
If I want to make a larger scale of this project, do I need a different transistor and resistor?
Yes, you will need a high power transistor and resistor. This transistor will burn if used in a bigger project.
Is good S9014,or 2N3904 tranzistor for this project?
No idea, never worked with these.
Is good with transisor 2n222A,but others transistors ??
How thick are youre wires for the primary and secondary?
Primary is 28 AWG enameled copper wire and secondary is normal hard insulated wire.
thanks!
What kind of transistor and resistence i'll have to use at 36v? Can i use AC?? Plz answer me!
I am not sure what components will be required but google can help in that. Enter the part number that i have used and find its equivalent for high voltage.
Yes, you can use AC with this project but it is highly recommended to never do it with AC mains because the project will become very dangerous and will require too many changes to work.
None of the components that i have used will work with AC. Also, the no. of turns of wire are too less to handle high AC mains voltage, thus you will also need to increase the project size enormously to make it work which will in return make it much more dangerous.
+GOODTECH - Creativity and Science guys please reply asap. Wich side is the transistor place i can't see
Can you please list down the materials needed and the purpose of those? Thanks! Much appreciated! :)
All the materials are listed in Video description.
will it work good if I use 12V and 0.2A power supply instead of 9V battery?
No, it need atleast 0.5mA, so it wont function well at 0.2A. However, a 12v source can be used.
I loooooovvvvvvvve your ideas 10x man
How many turns did u make for the coil please answer soon
Is it necessary to paint it or using a tape at boundaries?
No, it is not necessary to paint. I used white cardboard boundary to raise the height so, it can accommodate the circuit.
