the Russian army until Putin and Shoigu was undergoing reforms apeing the west, copying the west , however when applied to a real conventional war in Ukraine with in 2022 was rated by military analysts as a weak military power Russians attacked with surprise suddenly bungled their operation really badly. so bad that all the reforms are now gone, and the Russian army has devolved into a Soviet style army from WW2, relying on manpower and tank numerical superiority to try to overwhelm the Ukrainians who fought back hard ferociously and marvelously going beyond the expectations of many military analysts. Fought the Russians head on and pushed them back recovering huge swathes of captured territory. Even though its a bloody stalemate , this would be inconceivable when the war started that Ukraine could actually fight Russia to a standstill., a power called Russia which has 10X the economy, 10X the population 10X military vs. Ukraine. Its that stupid in the Russian military that this occured and the Russians are now down to, begging to North Korea for weapons and fielding T-55s in the battlefield(soemthing they havent done in large numbers since Czechoslovakia 1968).
