The piano melody, especially the trills, is evocative of bird or butterfly wings to me, while the slow, somber accompaniment is the cage. I can almost see the priest bricking me in after giving me my last rights. This is one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever heard, but also one of the most horrifying.
You certainly were in union with the Spirit to capture the commitment, faith and long suffering of an anchoress. Listening to the music and being embraced by the visual surely disturbs our own loyalty and love to our faith or maybe just has us question if we are pure in our allegiance to our Creator? Enjoyed this piece very much. Thank you.
