My favorite bray wyatt moment was THAT DEBUT at summerslam 2019. In an Era where wrestlers are made for ppvs Bray wyatt made free tv so much entertaining. A guy who DARED to put a COMPLETELY KAYFABE CHARACTER in a Non Kayfabe world and got it OVER is simply an incitement of his talent. You'll forever be missed.

I'm starting to debate what hurts more in my heart: Bray Wyatt being dead or the fact he was one of the greatest workers when it came to story telling and character and WWE couldn't even begin to handle him correctly. He put everything he had into his career, to create stories and WWE, Vince McMahon specifically, couldn't see something worthwhile.
I offer my deepest and sincerest condolences to the Rotunda family, I did not know Mr. Rotunda personally, but I did enjoy his work greatly. I cannot offer that same feeling toward WWE. Seeing their tribute doesn't do anything for me but be reminded "Oh yeah, this is where he dedicated his body and soul to and they couldn't bother to care about what they had".

Honestly this was I feel the first wrestling death that actually really hurt for me in the 25+ years ive been watching. Bray legit had a mind for the business and character that very few had. While I dont think his in ring stuff is amazing his ability to create larger than life characters that we havent seen since Hogan's era and in a time where Kayfabe is dead is beyond impressive. Hponestly my two favorite Bray matches have to be the funhouse match and honestly his final match the "pitch black" match as they showed Bray at his best when putting together these bizzare matches that sound like they are going to be awful but somehow are absurdly captivating. Its a shame as Bray i truely feel could have eventually moved to the role of producer or agent and done so much good for the business and talent. RIP Bray you really will be missed

I live for the moment where Bray was making a pinfall in a tag match with Roman and... without looking pointed his finger like a gun at someone and Roman speared them out of nowhere.
Bray did all the little things and did them so well. There is no one you can compare to him.

The thing I loved so much about The Wyatt Family was Harper and Rowan were so perfect as his muscle/attack dogs, but Bray *wasn't* the typical cowardly heel hiding behind his muscle.
What made it special was that when Bray decided to do it himself, he was the most terrifying one of the group.
    RIP

Death is unquestionably the hardest part of being a pro wrestling fan. As fans of the admittedly silly but brilliant industry we in this esoteric community love so dearly, seeing the tragic passing of the men and woman, these talented performers, is the hardest part.
When I learned of Bray’s passing, my heart tensed up, stopped momentarily, then proceeded to plummet. I felt my heart sank. I froze. Lost all feeling in my extremities. No words. I bloody hate it when a pro wrestling star passes.
Rest in Power, Windham. Arguably the greatest creative mind to grace the industry. You will be sorely missed. May you, too, be exalted in Heaven… much in the same way as your dear friend, Mister Brodie Lee.

    Catching flies in his mouth
    Tasting freedom while he dares
    Then crawling back
Top of the stairs (of the stairs)
He won't see the sun again for years to come
    He's broken out in love
Like a cat without a care
    Roaming freely through the streets
You could find him in amongst the pigeons in the square
But he won't see the sun again for years to come
    He's broken out in love
He won't see the sun again for years to come
    He's broken out in love

I can totally understand the part about not being able to process the news initially Luke. I first was in Shock. Then for a second, I thought: "Oh it is a work, the character is dead and we will get another character." And 1 second later: no, that can't be right. And my mood has been down ever since. RIP Windham Rotunda / Bray Wyatt. He will be sorely missed.

Thanks for this guys. So great to hear a tribute and everyone's memories of Bray's career.
I'm beyond heartbroken, I've been randomly bursting into tears all day. It's so hard and strange to grieve for someone you didn't know and never met. It can feel kind of embarrassing, so it's great to hear everyone share their memories and not feel alone in knowing your life was touched in a significant way by a performer.
Bray was my favourite wrestler going today. I've always been a supporter and have longed for him to be given the creative freedom and program that he needed to show what he was truly capable of. It's angering and saddening to know that we're never going to get it now...
Regardless, he had such a great creative mind and a career filled with some of the most memorable moments in wrestling history.
    We lost a good one.

When my wife and I had our twins they were premature and really sick, through the doctors visits and sick times, missing work for appointments and sick days their were days I had that got really dark and depressing but me and the kids used to spend nights watching firefly funhouse and I’d hold them. I got a Fiend tattoo for them and to represent the period of our life and couldn’t imagine this :/ They grew up and have gotten healthier but throughout the years they’re diehard little fans now at 5 years old and we were fortunate enough to see gray front row in providence last year at Smackdown. Crazy we never got to meet him I wanted the kids to get to meet or talk to him as well as thank him for giving me an outlet to escape the reality a bit. The boys are sad and heartbroken today and as a dad only 5 years younger or 4 I couldn’t imagine his wife and family’s pain. RIP Bray

IMPACT pulled a classy move by not doing any live tweets during their broadcast in honor of Bray. Props to them.
Ever since Bray debuted, I was in love with him. His time in Nexus (along with Wade Barrett) made me love Nexus. His Live In Fear music when he became Bray Wyatt was my ringtone for a very long time. Everything he did, I was a die-hard supporter, even if he was heel. I never met him, but I met his brother, and if he's anything like Bray, they're so warm-hearted. RIP Windham. May you do all of your gimmicks in Heaven with your brothere Brodie

Hard to choose a favorite moment. But a few that stick out:
    -"Miss Teacher Lady" promo.
-He carried the entire feud with the Undertaker completely by himself. Undertaker never spoke a word.
    -Fiend entrance

-Adding Alexa to the Fiend/Bray storyline. They played off each other beautifully.

This is hard. This hurts. The world has lost an amazingly creative and talented man. Still so young, and full of charisma and potential. I still haven't figured out how to break this to my 7 year old daughter. We've spent countless hours during the last few years bonding over wrestling, the Firefly Funhouse segments in particular. It was always such a joy watching her face light up when that theme music played. The day I took her to her first live event was the same day that news broke that he was released. The next year just wasn't the same. Then, that return, I'll never forget it. When that door lit up and opened, when we saw that lantern again, when the fireflies lit up the arena. Truly a spectacle. We've continued watching and waiting and hoping for a return since Feb, excited to see where his unique mind took us next. So glad that he got that moment last year to just be himself in the middle of that ring, share with us the real man behind the mask. I'm glad we got to show him our appreciation and how much he meant to us.
You asked us to let you in, and we did, we let you into our hearts, and you'll remain there forever. RIP Bray

  • @christophercarl1774

Bray deserves a full tribute show tonight.
Bray's Cult theme hits - Braun Stroman and Erik Rowan walk out wearing sheep masks, one carrying his lantern, the other carrying his hat. The music morphs into his Fiend theme - Alexa Bliss walks out WEARING the Fiend mask. Music morphs to his current theme - Bo Dallas walks out wearing the Uncle Howdy Mask. The four stand in the ring and set the items in the center of the ring, embrace and exit.
I'm sure with Braun's recovery and Alexa's pregnancy, this is highly unlikely, but I think this would be a touching start to a full tribute show. RIP Wyndam. You were a performer and a creative genius ahead of the industry.

A man who’s vision arguably was too large for the industry he was involved in. It should be noted, though the booking obviously wasn’t great sometimes, all of Bray’s ideas were over as hell when he first debuted them. And, honestly, I enjoyed Bray’s in ring style; I thought he brought very convincing physicality to everything he did.
All that being said… I help my sister raise my niece and nephew, I’m with them almost all day every day. I had a panic attack last night thinking of what would happen to them if I passed. That’s the part that truly made me break down and cry last night. I hope so much that Windham’s kids and Jojo are, in some small way, comforted by the outpouring of love and appreciation for him.

When I first saw the news it was through the WT thumbnail. First thought was the character was killed and he was having a gimmick change. After the. News of COVID I'm still having trouble processing that it's real. Been in a funk since last night and can't shake it. Usually news of a wrestler passing sucks in general, and as an 80s kid theres been a few. But I'm starting to realize this one hits different because I really, really enjoyed his characters and creative mind overall. I hope someone can fill that void because wrestling really lost someone special and the entertainment world is worse off for it. Life has its "not fair" moments and this is one. RIP Wyndham, gone way too soon and will always hold a place in our thoughts for what was and should have been.

Damn this f*cking sucks. First off thanks to you guys for doing this for all us to come and grieve. I’m not normally a guy who gets sad at “celebrity” deaths but this one has really hit me hard. In my family I’ve always considered myself someone of the outsider, liking wrestling and just being an overall nerd. I was never treated badly for it but that feeling is something you don’t really shake. Bray was “my guy,” the one who’s shirts I had the one who’s promos I’d go back and listen to over and over. My wrestling friend group at work all had different tastes but Bray was the one guy we all agreeed on. He had that something that just grabbed you by the hair and said “let’s go.” Like Luke I’m still having a hard time processing this and am hoping this is all a dream and he’s coming back at #30 this year at the rumble. We will never see the like of Bray in pro wrestling for a long time and that makes me sad. My favorite promo is the “you are guilty” promo he did in the lead up with taker. One of my happiest wrestling moments was when I was there at his return at extreme rules . One of the only things that brings me some peace is that he’s with Brodie again. I’m just having a really hard time with this one 😢

  • @deadpoolnerd
    @deadpoolnerd ปีที่แล้ว +1

I liked Bray's promo style. And watching some back it sheds light on both the character Bray Wyatt and the man Windham Rotunda. There's a promo in NXT he did talking about 3 types of men. One who sits on the couch does nothing, one who tries and fails, and one who goes for it and takes what he deserves and that's Bray Wyatt. To a promo he did on smackdown with the Wyatt family talking about a mean teacher. Who looked down on him called him rotten didn't see anything in him, yet she rots in a retirement home as Bray has the whole world in his hands. To the promo he cut as Windham Rotunda when he returned to smackdown. Talking about the people how they were there for him when he lost self confidence when he felt weak.
It shows throughout his career Bray/Windham has overcome a lot. You could assume from when he started his career in NXT and FCW as Husky Harris, he wouldn't be much. Yet he got to work reinvented himself, and made it work. And despite whatever booking wherever they took the character, he made it work. A lot of that could've shaked his confidence in his ability yet he kept going. And he gave us absolute magic with all his ideas. And that lasts forever, I feel he'll be a talent remembered by future generations as an inspiration.

Owen Hart was my first favourite wrestler. Since his death my understanding and love of the sport has evolved, and if im truly being honest with myself he wouldnt be in my top 5 any more. However i always keep him in that top 5, out of love, respect and wanting to keep his name alive. Bray though is 100% my number one, i loved his work, i accept it didnt all land, but he was a visionary and an artist willing to push the bounds of what wrestling could be. I cant believe we will never again ask when hes returning.

Bray was the one reason I got back into pro wrestling. He was the guy who made you believe in the larger then life characters. I got to meet him once and he was seriously the nicest guy you could ever meet in the world. Thank you bray, we will always miss you.

I love the 6 man tag team match from the Wyatt Family and the Shield. One of the best faction matches. The other matches I loved that don't get talked much was the Wyatt Family vs the ECW originals matches. The feud wasn't the big focus of PVP or the night, but they had good matches.

A lot of great moments from Bray’s career, starting with his WWE championship win in 2017 at Elimination Chamber. There is obviously everything with the Fiend, especially the Firefly Funhouse match. The return at extreme rules in 2022. This guy made us feel a lot of things, whether it’s kayfabe or real life, and now we are all heartbroken. All my prayers, love, support for his family

At 7:55 the fact that Stone Cold Steve Austin saw potential in Bray Wyatt as Husky Harris at the time shows how much talent Rotunda was. Bray’s character is a mix of Max Cady and Norman Bates. He was a great speaker, and knew how to captivate an audience. The Shield vs The Wyatt Family is definitely my favorite match in 2014. Bray is the same age as me. I’m 36. That’s what makes this surreal. I’m still at a loss for words about Bray’s passing. My condolences to the Rotunda family and the wrestling community😢💔🙏🏾

such a big big loss.. Bray was one of the most genius minds in the company. Have rewatched just older promos and his main roster debut and was reminded of when he debuted and I was too scared to be in a room with the lights off because of him, but none the less, was OBSESSED with listening to his entrance theme. It was torture for myself but the character was just THAT good i was enamoured!
Have also been thinking of his feud vs Matt Hardy, an unsung gem in WWE history.
Bray will be missed, may he rest in peace.

When I was 15 working at a boring ass retail store- it was during the lead up to mania with bray v orton. I would get through so many shifts just daydreaming about where the story could go and that intrigue in this and MANY other storylines made my life so much better for years. He captivated us like no one, and gave us the most entertaining TV I have genuinely ever seen. I bought the plaque from WWE of the Firefly Funhouse match. Covid lockdown was really hard for me and my family. We gathered around the TV and Bray gave me something to think about for weeks- and I still think back on it often. He did it like no one has since Taker. I am shocked, praying for everyone close to him. He will be known as a GOAT- his creative mind has changed professional wrestling. A Hero in so many ways.

I’m so glad that Bray had the opportunity to return at Extreme Rules and to hear that ovation, the excitement and the all round appreciation and love for his work. The joy he brought to so many. He always managed to drag me back in when the company pushed me out. In an environment and time where riveting content was sparse in WWE, Bray was the shining light of unique story telling and compelling character work that recaptured so many fans imaginations over and over again. He was one of a kind. My favorite forever. A wrestling world without Bray Wyatt will forever feel empty. There’ll never be another ❤

I always looked at Bray Wyatt as the definition of a talented man. What a creative mind. He just gets it. He just knows how to captivate people. I've got so much respect for the way he made wrestling and WWE shows go to a different level. He created new things in wrestling. His Firefly Fun House match against Cena is one of my favorite matches ever... And I don't even know if that's a wrestling match. And It doesn't matter. That's how good Bray Wyatt was. RIP.

I was never the biggest fan of bray Wyatt, but god damn this hurts. My first PPV where I watched consistently afterwards was Royal rumble 2014, where he fought Bryan. And then, when I got extremely burnt out on wrestling, the last match I saw until wrestlemania 38 was the firefly funhouse match with cena, which was brilliant. He’s always been a great member of the roster, and a better man. May be rest in piece.

i started watching wrestling at the age of 9 in 2012. when he debuted on the main roster in 2013, he terrified me because of how well he portrayed the character. some of my favorite moments in wrestling came from wyatt - like the cage match with bryan, and the children's choir singing "he's got the whole world in his hands". i grew up watching bray on my tv, and it doesn't feel right that one of my idols in life is now gone. thank you for everything, and will love you forever bray ❤

While we've lost an incredible talent who entertained, a family's lost a father/ husband/ son and friend and I think that can sometimes be lost.

Huge RIP. I haven''t been able to tear myself away from watching videos, reading tributes, or even thinking about Bray. My favorite entrance of all time is his live music entrance at WM 30, complete with voodoo priestess and plague doctor masks. It set the scene and explained the character so well. So many moments like that for me watching this pure diamond in the rough.

One of the best things with Bray for me.......was not Bray
It was Johnny Gargano.....watching Bray's entrance at SS in that backstage watch along. Bray had another professional wrestler just absolutely captivated. Gargano turned into a kid believing in kayfabe, like the rest of us watching that entrance
