Maxed Out - 6 Ways to Patina Copper

- In this video I test six different methods to patina copper. Using a smaller extra sheet of copper, I use saltwater, vinegar, saltwater vinegar, muriatic acid, diluted muriatic acid, and ammonia in different squares to see which of these solutions will give me the best results. This test was crucial to my work for the Iron Oak sculpture which will feature over a thousand patinated copper leaves.

if you wanted them with a deep red patina you heat it until it is red hot and quench it in boiling water. Would look gorgeous for an autumn copper tree
also ammonia and salt gives blue
I love your energy. Keep being awesome.
I appreciate that so much!
Always a good day when Max uploads!
I appreciate that buddy!
I'm excited to see more progress on this project, and moreso to see its completion! It's always a joy to see you work. Its refreshing to see a fellow maker so passionate, enthusiastic, and inspired in their craft. I believe it would be a joy to work with you on a project one day, but alas, I come from Michigan lol
I appreciate that buddy! Can’t wait to share the journey with you!

I remember the live where you got started on dipping the leaves in the picked solution 🥰 so I had a hint of what you would choose XD

This tree is going to be so cool!!! Imagine the future generations that will get to see it too!
It will be there many many years to come!
I feel like a lawn/yard pump sprayer would be a great way for you to hit a ton of leaves in a quick manner
Totally! As long as the salt didn’t clog the nozzle, but worth a try!
Like a true mad scientist
Hah! Science!
Yes!
😄
can you do vinegar and salt wash after a muriatic acid wash?
I don’t see why not!
Vinegar in salt is pretty much the best option.
You live on oregon?
