That looks pretty amazing. Like you, I also love roast. I grew up with it done in the oven, mostly on Sundays so my mother could leave it in the oven to cook while we were at church, and then we mostly moved to it being done in a slow cooker. Like you said, I'll eat it either way. I especially love the vegetables that are cooked with it. I've never had bell pepper with a roast, and I'm not sure why. I really like bell peppers, and so did my mother. Maybe dad didn't like them? Who knows, can't ask that question any longer. I can't imagine I wouldn't like them cooked with a roast, though. A beef roast is my favorite meal with carrots, onions, and potatoes. Don’t buy one too often because of the cost. But sometimes you have to just splurge and treat yourself. And I will get several meals from one. Love the smell in the house when one is in the oven.

I was so excited when I saw that roast that I was talking to myself. That looked like a 3-blade chuck roast. I used to buy a 3-blade or a 5-blade chuck roast 35 years ago. I haven’t one of them since most of the supermarkets have eliminated butchers. Walmart is the worst. Unfortunately, I live in NW Arkansas where all we have are Walmarts. I always jokingly say Walmarts in NW Arkansas is like the Baptist in the south. There is one on every corner and 2 in the middle of the block. It’s rough. But, that roast was beautiful.

@ hi Crissy. Happy Birthday early. Yes, any meat with a bone still in it will have more flavor. Chuck is a very economical cut of beef. Well, it used to be. It was the cut we could afford when everything else was out of sight. It just needs to be cooked longer, slower, and at a lower temperature to tenderize it. The bones in a chuck are long and thin, looking like a blade. You can even have a 7 blade (or bone) roast. The more bones the more flavor. Now a days, butchers cut out the bones before the roast reaches the consumer. Uninformed people often do not want to pay for the bones.
I Agree! Pot Roast done in the oven is THE BEST!! 🥳 I learned a few new things today... Coffee in the Gravy (Pot Liquor) and Roast Your veggies in a separate pan IN THE OVEN!! Add them to the Roast pan to sop up some gravy before serving... This is Another one of my Favorite Comfort Meals... I love Sauces and Gravies... they make everything taste better. I also love the Smell of a Roast cooking in the oven... its just different than the smell of it cooking in the Crock Pot. I mean it still smells good but not like An Oven Roast! Good lord that roast is massive! #jealous! When I make my veggies (potatoes/carrots) I cheat. I use turkey oven bags. A can of beef stock and a packet of beef stew mix in each bag. Carrots in 1 bag. Taters in the other. Into the oven @375 until done. Put them in casserole dishes and add a stick of butter to each dish. It’s a game changer. ❤❤❤❤❤
@ I hope you do! I like a lot of carrots and my family likes a lot of potatoes. Way too many for a crock pot or Dutch oven. Just give the carrots a 20+ minute head start. (A side note. The left over potatoes make killer mashed potatoes)
I never used to put a crust on my roast but I asked my mom and she told me to do it. Man what a difference it made in the flavor. Don’t skip the fry part.
Hi Talli Faye , i love oven roasted Beef roast also and the oven roasted veggies are so delicious , i add Whole Garlic cloves roasted in veggies and in with meats also the cloves of garlic get so sweet when roasted !! And that cup of black coffee not only flavors the gravy but tenderizes the meat so nicely !! I know your tills were yummy with the meal , i love a piece of bread with butter in it with my roast snd gravy or crunchy cornbread is delicious with that gravy also !! Stay warm ❤️🙏🙏🙋🏻🌈🌈
I love watching your videos. You cook a lot like I used to but now my grown daughter lives with me and she does the most of the cooking. The ONLY thing that causes chills to go up my spine is when you use metal utensils on metal pans and scrap it. LOL

Dearest Friend, you just made my VERY FAVORITE meal!! I always use Chuck Roast, to me it’s the best❤ I never have browned/seared my roast. I just season it up well, add a bit of water to my pot and let it bake low and slow for at least 3-4 hrs. Mid way I put in carrots and potatoes. FANTASTIC! Leftover roast I make into Italian Beef. I put it in a pot with the leftover juice, add a little water and cook slowly, covered on top of the stove. Shred it up a bit in the pan after cooking, with the mineable juice left in the meat. Then cut cut up pepperchini peppers and add some liquid from the jar of peppers and simmer awhile. It was my best seller when I had a Diner restaurant. DELISH ❤❤. MY CHILDREN and Grands ask me to make it for them all the time. I hope you give it a try sometime 💕🙏🙏 Your KeyLime Friend ❤❤❤

@@deborahparker1767 I’ve been doing it for years and never had anyone (coffee drinkers and non coffee drinkers) ask me if there was coffee in it!.. I know it sounds kinda crazy but it makes dark gravies come alive!… About a half cup is all you need… It’s not for crockpot cooking… but in skillet gravies with the browned rue … it’s wonderful!… especially with roast!
TF. A few comments. If you take your sauce and purée it with 1/3 to 1/2 of those vegetables, the sauce will thicken. I would also suggest some Soy Sauce, W Sauce, and (you guessed it) Marmite! You will build a few levels of Umami Flavours!
I wish you lived closer to me , I have 2 big boxes of cookbooks ,that are all brand new and would like them to go to someone who will use them , I would definitly give them to you if you were closer .

I’ve never heard of putting coffee in the roast gravy. I wonder if you didn’t know could you taste the coffee flavor? It looks delicious!
@@deborahparker1767 I’ve been doing it for years and never had anyone (coffee drinkers and non coffee drinkers) ask me if there was coffee in it!.. I know it sounds kinda crazy but it makes dark gravies come alive!… About a half cup is all you need… It’s not for crockpot cooking… but in skillet gravies with the browned rue … it’s wonderful!… especially with roast!

TF. A few comments. If you take your sauce and purée it with 1/3 to 1/2 of those vegetables, the sauce will thicken.
I would also suggest some Soy Sauce, W Sauce, and (you guessed it) Marmite!
You will build a few levels of Umami Flavours!

Yes I had a blessed day but it was a busy day but I got a lot of things done that I needed to get done so yes blessed it was.
That is one nice piece of meat. There ain't nothing better than pot roast. I have to ask. Can you taste any difference between olive oiles?
@@pamp5797 I can’t but I just started using olive oil a couple years ago…. I’m sure people that really love it can… so right now I just kinda roll with what I’ve got on it… I do know I’m too tight to buy the high dollar stuff lol 😂
It’ll be good because your roast has the bone in it. Since you can’t buy a roast at the store with a bone in it they are not early as good.
