Legal action like this can take years. It might fail. But Adams is an old man. Maybe, with luck, it will chase him to his grave.
May he have a miserable old age, dogged by the law. Dogged by the ghosts of his many, many victims.

The problem is that the British government's Troubles legacy legislation, when it eventually receives Royal Assent, will block all legal proceedings regarding Troubles-era terrorist crimes that took place before the signing of the Good Friday Agreement.

The ideal would be a truth commission, as in S Africa or S Korea.

@@FranzBieberkopf There will be something like that as part of what is now the Legacy Act.

Wasn't RUC Special Branch implicated in colluding with paramilitaries in killing civilians in Ireland during these times?

Nope - Faiche Repoblichaine propaganda. The group targeted were the Shinner Terrorists, who become 'civilian victims' by not wearing uniforms.

Perhaps you’re thinking of the Garda ?

No, I was thinking about Patrick Finucane when I was listening to the clip. God Rest His Soul, all he was doing was picking through the Crown Disclosures and identifying grounds for reasonable doubt on cases. So sad.

@@patriciareilly8841 That's strange because I was thinking of all the civilians the Faiche Repoblichaines murdered, especially the Catholics who did not agree with them. Wonder why the Irish Repoblichaine Blarney undertake such 'brave' operations against them and how that achieves whatever the Ficticious Cause they claim to pursue.

Also the UK government paid the IRA/SINN FEIN to stop the bombings etc etc... Because a terrorist must win by any costs.. Tony cuenca

How about the 126 people murdered by RUC , UDA , British solider , who removed the Government uniform of the day and replaced it with the terrorist uniform of assistant to thugs and murderers , supplying information, weapons and often committing the actual murders , then blocking proper investigation into the cases ,

@@FunkHazard Those murdered, both sides of the divide , by the pro vos lost their lives to criminals and should be treated as criminals but when you put on the uniform of the defender of justice by day and then by night commit murder or are complicit in the cover up of such crimes is a different situation, as I described those ( pro vos) criminals who committed crimes were perused by the justice system and rightly so, most were caught and convicted others unfortunately escaped the punishment of their crimes but at a minimum were perused but those individuals who wore the state uniform of the RUC , UDA or British Army used their position with the help of the establishment to evade rightful justice for their victims, I know no case of a member of any force who has done time for such crimes , we all know who filled the HBlock prison

@@martin54335 If you want to discuss collusion, then start with the Irish Government. You also need to research better to find terrorists who masqueraded as soldiers and police etc. I accept that both sides had faults - I don't think you do!
