so what type of pump are you using with that small pipe and 40 feet down ? a shallow well pump won't do it and the pipe isn't big enough for a submersible pump.
I do too. Right now for livestock wells in pasture we wash in a 6 inch pipe down 19 to 20 ft. Then we turn off the water, take the cap off and put in a 4 inch case with 3ft to 10ft of slotted pipe with a filter sock. then we pull the 6 inch pipe out leaving the 4 inch case in the ground, we then do a gravel pack with pea gravel. We use a 4 inch submersible in those wells, some a smaller diameter solar pump. We use two 2 inch pacer pumps hooked to that 6 inch pipe to wash it down into the ground. probably 30 to 60 gpm of water. Hard clay will stop it. I'd like to get down to 35ft or 40 ft but haven't tried that yet.
