I can't believe it, this morning I noticed for the first time I was unable to trim in the opposite direction of yoke input, and you release this perfect answer!
Yes just noticed that! It would have been better had I extended the flaps with override, I ran out of trim authority (Max permitted nose down electric trim is 3.95 units with flaps retracted), cut-out before that in Normal. FD2S
@@flightdeck2sim that explains why I couldn’t trim to 3.5 at the place I normally do it in the sim when setting up! Is a setting like that unusual/an indication of a problem for takeoff trim? It seems to block it at the stage when you would normally do it. Maybe just warrants some extra consideration?
Good question, not tried it. It's designed to stop operation of ELEC trim when control column input is made in the opposite direction. If you do what you suggested you're either going to snap the wings off or be walking on the ceiling. 😅

Definitely more of these interesting features which in practice are very rarely used
Studying for the MCC here, and couldn't understand this buttons function. Thanks for a clear explanation and demonstration.
Great! Good luck with your MCC!
What brand is the yoke?? Amazing explanation!
I first noticed this feature in the Felis 747-200, when i was testing my homemade yoke 😅
Good explanation! Would be nice to have seen the trim wheel in the override demo, could see it in the normal demo.

what sim are you using?
Right before my Alpaca airways flight! Fingers crossed I don't need it!
Quick question: Once you pull the override switch, can you put it back to normal?
Yes, you can move back to normal to restore functionality.

Great vid! im going to use this in the case of an emergency on my Alpaca Airways flight. Just joined the virtual airline using Newsky!
Can you still trim in the same direction as the column with such a large deflection, or does it cut out any trim movement?

Any differences between the NG and Max regarding jams in pitch?
Re STAB Override, pretty much identical.

Don't jam the trash bag under that switch cover if your a FA. You'll get told off by the captain😅
Early😳
PMDG???
