I have the Briley handgaurd on my Beretta 1301 Mod.2. I have zero regrets buying the Briley, it is very well made and sturdy. No complaints whatsoever. By the way, I recommend the Shaffer M-Lok mount for your pressure switch. It provides a very secure mount for the switch and you can place it wherever you want on the Briley handgaurd. My is shotgun FDE and I have the Mesa Tactical stock (I ordered a black one so only the barrel and receiver on my gun is FDE). I also went with a Holosun 510C optic. Such a great combo on this gun.
YES! I had almost identical issues with my Aridus. I have a video over on my channel comparing the Briley directly with the OEM and discussed the Aridus as well.
Took my 1301 with Briley to the range today. I mounted a little hand stop for a bit more control. Put some rapid-fire buckshot and slugs on paper. Damn this gun is Fun!
This is the next step for me. I which they offered it in FDE but I can solve that myself. The Zhukov will not retain a scout light after repeated use. I agree that I would rather forgo the Irons especially for a longer rail at the top of the receiver. I run my optic on a riser and I recommend it.
Hello Din Djarin, what kind of bit did you use to remove the screws that were on top of the receiver holding the pic rail and rear sight to the frame? To my eyes, it looks like an allen head, but looking deeper in the hole, it looks like Torx...Is it torx or allen? Help, thanks.
I just took my stock rail and sight off to put a CROM on. I used a plain Allen-head, but the Allen hole in the screws is REALLY shallow. I had to bear down pretty hard to break them all loose, and almost stripped the last one before I got it free. None of my Torx bits fit - my smallest is a T8. If anyone has a smaller one that worked for them, I'd be curious as to what size it was. I really thought the T8 would have fit, but it definitely didn't.
Do you have any gap between the gun and the briley handguard? On boths sides at the end, where the charging handle is or shell carrier looking towards front sight?
The OEM handguard seals it the best, followed by the Briley, then the Aridus. I've had it out in snow/sleet/rain with the Aridus and had no issues. Chances of getting enough foreign matter in the shotgun via the handguard to cause a malfunction: assessed to be low.
The plastic one you get from Beretta is junk imo, it slides forward when shooting and if over tightened, the screws pull the threaded inserts through the plastic. GG&G has an aluminum barrel clamp if you wish to upgrade it if your 1301 has the plastic overmolded extension.
Sold (manufactured?) by Mesa Tactical. Its the first I’ve heard about it……..I don’t know anyone that has one……yet. It’s less than half the cost of the Briley and made of aluminum as well.
That’s a result of improper assembly. It needs the magazine tube’s end cap to be tight (TIGHT) as that’s what’s holding it to the receiver. You crank that down hard enough, no issues. Don’t add any M-A-N, there it starts to loosen.

I could possibly understand why they didn't on the comp and others but not being on the tactical or LE makes no sense at all to me. I have been hoping they would come out with one you could order, but apparently they are not interested in improving or giving options. Had I known about their legendary "CUSTOMER NO SERVICE" I would never have made the purchase to begin with, esp. since Mossburg has come out with their new one. I agree the Zukof guard is far to cheaply made.

They aren't issues...But if you want or need more functionality, then the Briley is a great choice as well.

You can unscrew that nut on the front sight to get rid of it open up the fov a bit

Yes, it’s wider than the receiver at that part.

How well does that work shooting without the barrel clamp does your extension tube or cover come loose
No issues. I think the clamp on the 1301 is overrated/more for the picatinny rail section to mount on than doing anything for the shotgun.

I've heard that this handguard could slide forward and rearward about 1mm, installed. Have you experienced this issue? If so, potential fix?

How is the heat on your hand with this handguard compared to the stock one?
Bigger handguard = better heat dissipation. Also keeps your hands further from the barrel. So this is better than the stock handguard in that regard.
I still can't find one in stock in my neck of the woods. I'm going to get one, they look so good.

If you don't like the co-witness of irons, why go with the Crom mount and not just mount the T1 directly to the factory picatinny rail?
It’s a more reliable mounting system and a lower mount allows a better cheek weld.
How hard is the installation
