One of most informative videos I have seen on this topic. A lot of youtubers run through the features of it but love how you break down alternative options and the reasons for each. Exactly what I was searching for. Well done.
We thought about getting the Brezza, but decided not to as the mayor hazel with bottles is cleaning and sterilizing them - mixing powder and water takes two seconds. We have bottles prefilled with powder on our bedside table and water in bottle. When the baby wakes up, we just fill with water to the mark and give a little shake. Will be checking out the Doona though.
I was going to buy the Doona to accommodate my ongoing & almost debilitating post-viral fatigue, but when I had almost decided to buy it I tried lifting it to car seat height with an 8lb 'payload' & found that this seat is no accomodation at all. The heft of it is significant well before you add the maximum-weight baby. It does seem great for healthy young travelers & urban types & people who hop from car to Uber, etc.
My poor mother-in-law, who asked me to do that test, was mightily relieved that she wasn't ever going to have to install that seat into her own, even taller, vehicle.
We love our kyte baby products! Our 2 yr old has a positive sleep association with his sleep sacks and can’t wait to start using it for our newborn once she transitions out of swaddles. I came to watch this video again because I definitely need a carrier with 2 kids. My first is exactly 2 yrs older and we definitely need to be hands free
Baby Brezza experience: our newborn stopped drinking the formula from the first bottle made with this. I researched and found many claims that this product simply wasn’t mixing formula properly and many babies were diagnosed as failing to thrive. Luckily we caught it early and went back to manually mixing although we still use the unit for warming and dispensing water. We’re transitioning back to pre made liquid formula despite the price.
I've heard this several times as well. If it's not mixing the ratio correctly then it can be potentially dangerous. It's too bad; I love the concept very much.
I want to like the Doona for as much as we travel and have family all over the country, but it scores SOOO LOW in safety. If we did splurge, it would be for travel only. Which doesn't make the price that worth it bc we would get a 2nd car seat and stroller.
Great product for the money. Took it for a test walk today and it is easy to get baby in and out of unlike some of those other carriers. It seemes pretty comfortable as well This will be great for the stores and walking the mall I just wish there was a small pocket or mesh net for a phone or other small items.
I hired the Doona for a month, and hated it. Overall feels flimsy and not sturdy. It rattles of any surface that’s not perfectly smooth. No basket is actually really annoying, not just a minor detail. Hood is also so small, that it provides zero shade against the sun. Much preferred having Bugaboo capsule on a Bugaboo Fox base.
As a New Dad, we love our doona. It's really convenient. Also, I love the baby breeza. I don't have to worry about the water being too hot it's perfect every time and will have a bottle ready within 2 minutes.
I only used the Doona until my daughter was 4 months old. She grew too tall too fast. I also could not go to the grocery store without the help of my husband...opted for a Cybex. However, it was really great when she was a new born - though I think it would of been similar effort if I had gotten the Cubex infant seat ...at least there was storage from day 1
As someone who's not in the USA, when talking about Baby Brezza, please make sure to mention it might not be a viable option in other countries. In the UK, formula is not sterile but is sterilised by using boiling water during preparation. Baby Brezza doesn't use boiling water so it doesn't sterilise the formula which is quite dangerous. (And it's being sold here as well!) There are alternative formula machines that use a hot shot and then add cold water after the powder is sterilised, like the tommee tippee one.
Very true. I often lose sight of the viewers who watch outside of the US when talking gear. Thanks for keeping that part in check. If you have any other suggestions, please go ahead and drop them here.
In a similar vein, sleep sacks are not recommended here in the UK. We used one last night when we got our new born home but the midwife who visited today said they are no longer recommended and to use a cellular blanket instead. Luckily we had been gifted a few hand knitted ones.

We NEVER leave the house without our Baby Björn ONE carrier since having our second - we even have two for that reason. If we didn't live in Japan right now, where hardly anyone uses strollers and just wear their kiddos I don't know if we would babywear as much as we do.
