- One of these days Mr. Opportunity gonna be knocking on my door
One of these days I'll read the writing on the wall
One of these days I'll be a spectator in an audience of whores
One of these days I'm gonna run until I fall
One of these days I'll win the lottery and wake up a millionaire
One of these days I'm gonna get myself a job
One of these days They're gonna stop the world and I won't even care
One of these days I'm gonna finally believe in God
One of these days I'm gonna grow up to become the President
One of these days I'll find the woman of my dreams
One of these days I'm gonna find these truths to be self evident
One of these days I'll blow my brains out on T.V.
One of these days
One of these days
One of these days I'm gonna get in shape, become an astronaut
One of these days My fears are gonna fall down the stairs
One of these days I'll sell my soul and let them find out what they bought
One of these days I'm gonna shave off all my hair
One of these days I'm gonna learn to play and write myself a song
One of these days I'll take my conscience out to lunch
One of these days I'm gonna buy the plans and build the atom bomb
One of these days I'll have the guts to play my hunch
One of these days
One of these days
Any day now
Any day now
Cop Shoot Cop
I met these guys in Olympia. They gave me permission to cover If Tomorrow Ever COmes. Todds words were something like, "You can fuckin have it I fucking hate that song!"
When we did it everyone was amazed at how brilliant a songwriter I was until I told them it was CSC. The most underrated band like ever.
That's one of their best songs! oh well
One of the greatest bands of all fucking time. Everybody Loves You, It Only Hurts When I Breathe, Cut to the Chase, Isreali Dig...these guys are criminally underrated. Thanks for posting it.
Damn, it's been exactly 20 years since I bought this CD! I'm feeling fucking ancient at (almost) 34!
Well...now you're almost 40...hit that midlife crisis yet :)
And now you have arrived at 43, strange how time flies past so fast, and the more time that has past, the faster it depletes. Now, imagine what it will feel like, and the thoughts within your head once you're 53 like me! I feel like I am in my late twenties, or early 30s at worst, but my body does not always agree with my mind. Death has never before made his existence so apparent. I would like to talk to all my friends, acquaintances, and lovers from my youth just to express my gratitude and appreciation for ever having them in my life, no matter how minor of a role they might have been. If any of them should happen to read this, I want them to know I am truly thankful for the good times we have shared, and any other positivity which they might have helped to bring into my life . . . although nobody will know who I am, there is likely someone like me in your long history of acquaintances that thinks about you more frequently than you imagine, and perhaps you should contact your old acquaintances, or maybe you're the one who amongst your acquaintances that is like me, yearning to have one last meaningful conversation with the people of your past. If you know how, then contact them, write them, call them, however you can establish a connection, DO IT!!! You only receive one guarantee in life, and that is not tomorrow! To everybody who has ever contributed something to my life experiences, THANK YOU!!!
Just heard this on The Rookie's latest episode. Wow, I wish I heard this song years ago!
Same here. Ive heard this song couple days ago and i cant stop listening 😊
This may be the band I missed seeing live that I regret missing the most.
Greatest band of all time....Tod is a true Poet!
Still my favorite band that never went anywhere despite being pretty damned awesome. The quality is too high, though. More jpeg, more lossy compression on the audio.
I've been to most of there shows before and after I moved to NYC. But I was 9 the first time I met Net's my mom and my stepfather subleted there music studio.
classic. love this - lyrics and groove. a gem of the 90's. amazing band.
One of my favorite when I was fifteen. The first LP too.
In the 1980s music videos used to be conguent to the song's lyrics, this one did it with aplomb. Together with $10 Bill, one of my most favorite C$C videos.
Great band fom the 90's and yes they were greatly overlooked.
this song made every mix tape/cd i made through childhood. aahhhh the good old days
This is a GREAT CD and they were a great band......
"it's truths to be self evident" it's in the constitution, every line in this song is a direct quote or a thinly veiled reference to something in pop culture and or the american dream. Get in shape and become an astronaut, get myself a job, win the lottery , find myself a wife, run for president...........one of these days.
When I'm really down with "Prozac Poopout" and am in a Kate spade mindset, I listen to songs like "Any Day Now," and it music lances the wound, relieving me of the pressure to 'fix' whatever is rotten and dirty to the core of me.
C$C and Firewater are probably my favorite bands of all time. (Along with The Wildhearts & Strapping Young Lad - they all have direct ties to C$C)
Thanks for posting this vid! It's hard to find!!
Best band ever..ever..ever..run away and cry. No one will ever top this.
The best. Dry. Sarcastic. Stripped down sound heavy on the low end. Better than Firewater.
I used to play this on my radio show all the time. Great track!!!
one of my fave tracks of all time.
Great band, great song.Overlooked and its a shame.
Thanks for uploading this video. I saw them 20 years ago in Sala Revolver, in Madrid. Loved it.
13/8 Time signature, piano goes 7, then 6
How the hell is this 30 years old already.
Awesome Video !! Great Song !! Thanks for the Share !!
20 ans que je cherche cette chanson...
Merci #TheRookie 🤣
has been more then a decade since i last heard this song (was searching for it ;) )
great stuff
I wish this album hadn't gone out of print within 2 years of it coming out.
In the 1980s, music videos are usually congruent with the song's lyrics. This one did it with aplomb.
You left out the Divorce! Great band, a fucking force of nature.
Eggs for Rib is also a great song! Loved them. Always felt I was 'in on something' by discovering CSC. Ironic that I never saw them in NYC even though I was here when they used to play. Oh well.
Out of their songs only 'The Divorce' exceeds this one imo
x
one of the few bands that write really good and clever lyrics.
yep. another insanely underrated nyc band!!!
The Red Expendables is really good too. No Tod but still good
Yep. I still have my "Piece Man" T Shirt :D
aikighost Same! Pissed off people when I wore it. Then I framed it and hung it in my living room.
thank you for posting this great song
Theme song of that generation. Love CSC
Love it. Always have. Never saw them live though. What a tragedy
just perfect
Weird how CSC poked fun at early 1980s music vides where the narrative of the video is an identical match to the lyrics / meaning of the song.
fucking stomping band, although kinda glad they remained obscure enough to not have been covered to death.
I love this song.
Very very thanks for posting this video.
damn...searched this for a very long time ;)
some corrections on the lyrics:
One of these days I'm gonna CRAWL up to become the President
One of these days I'm gonna FINALLY CHOOSE to be self evident
that's how I hear it at least..
Pretty good reinterpretation, but that's not what's in the lyric booklet of the CD.
Hey, Nets if you read this comment, I would like to say that you guys were the best. I miss those days
Of course I miss you too, you were my favorite. Cheers, Joana Gloria's daughter. "The Lab"east 3rd St.
FSU...1994......excellent.......they rocked the fuck out of everyone there
great it follows me since my easy days in the 90s
GREAT SONG!!!!
Has anyone thought this may have been the influence for Streets of Rage 2 level 4?
great song
wow 2 bass
I miss quality music...
why do I never see "Swimming in Circles" posted.
Better yet - all of "Release"
I have a copy of the casette..and would love to get a copy of the CD but that's unlikely.
I had the chance to see them live at legendary Forum in Enger / Germany back in those days...unforgetable!
Though I don't really like the strokes, I thank you for turning me on to TV On The Radio.
wow where was i sleeping i must have been taking one big ass nap theses guys rule

Try some Dog Fashion Disco... its excellent today!
we need to get devin townsend to sing these somehow
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
dude actually check out the band "TV on The Radio" they're really really good, and the strokes are always still good
I hope I don't grow up to be like you
Its on here (TH-cam) you just gotta look
Dedicated to those that talk a lot, but ever do a fucking thing....
I hope you don't either. I hope you grow up to be like you.
fuck that, this shit is amazing.. it takes much more 'in my opinion' to write shit like this and have it sound good, firewater sux anyway csc is mad underrated, if they were like nin status, u wouldn't say that
It did? Well, I guess I should consider myself lucky to own one.
This album was really unfairly maligned by fans with a knee jerk rejection of anything sounding remotely mainstream. If this is what mainstream was like, I would happily turn on my radio.
that's really deep
weak clip compared to the song. Which is fucking great..
I whish i could find the video for 10 Dollar bill
yeah yeah, love you too.. You gotta work on your attitude a little though.
you guys like csc, check out nothingface
Pop
i hear they started playing again, but ur right, all the bands that were sick and still play are whack and shit like NIN and Tatu, well maybe not tatu
any day now
