Audio is mixed from the original video and a separate slightly longer audience audio recording.
NOTE : In The Clouds and Tuesday's Child both have sections where the camera had to be hidden from view to avoid detection - so for a while around the 20 minute mark there are no pictures.
I was there...shivers down the spine watching & listening to this. Thanks for putting this up. My 14 year daughter is so jealous I got to see then live several times as she's a massive fan and regrettably unlikely to ever see them in the flesh.
I'm with you on that Ian...... taking me back to so many physical memories...... and those cold chills down the spine..... like 30+ years in between never happened
Thank you so much for sharing this! I saw them on this tour at the UEA in Norwich. They opened the show with Every Angel then, but, like this gig, they played Shelter From the Rain and Paradise. I saw them again at the UEA in '89 and they did open that show with She Moves, there was a sea fog of dry ice and Mark scared the hell out of everyone with his opening kick drum as nobody saw him come on stage! It sent shivers down my spine hearing it again. I'd forgotten just how magical Eve were.
I saw aae in Germany in 1991 with the great Marty Willson piper on lead guitar great night great show greetings from manly australia
I was there too, the choice of opening with She Moves Through the Fair was inspired, I’ll always remember that, breathtaking stuff with the vocal filling the hall and the massive drumbeat, not to mention the imagery with Julianne in black with the bouquet! Then a blinding gig to follow. I was really looking forward to it but was blown away beyond my expectations. One of the best gigs I have ever been to. A great band on top form , Tim rocking out on In the Meadow, it’s what you want, they gave it all to you!
My first ever gig as a 16-year old - an amazing evening
Seen this band many times and I've got my fingers crossed for a reunion gig someday 🤞
I was there for the Scarlet tour the following year. And they were even better. One of the first gigs at the Hall that I ever went to. Might even have been the first one, come to think of it....
Over the years, I've heard so much about this legendary gig.
Really, really, really wish I was there.
Thanks for the upload 🙏
Never discovered AAE until 1990 and could not get enough of them after that and got all the albums.
They were so brilliant live and with a catalogue of wonderful songs they should have gone on to be world famous.
I was so excited when they reformed in 1999 even if it only lasted for a few years and who could fail to fall in love
with the talented Ms. Regan your perfect girl. Sadly never got to see them, so big thumbs up for posting this.👍
Wow, I can now relive the gig, thanks for the upload !
Lovely to see more live material available. I saw AAE at Hammersmith Odeon around this time, and again at Royal Albert Hall in 1990, also at Glastonbury. Happy daze !! X
Hammersmith Odeon was the day after this one.
Thanks so much to Robin for providing this footage - how wonderful to see this part of AAE's journey! I would have loved to have seen this show. At least I can enjoy it here. Thank you! :-)
Great memories, I saw them supporting The Mission at the London Astoria. They were fantastic, if only they released more 😢
i was there too, my husband babysat while i took my best friend with me,we had an amazing experience that night and we still talk about all these years later, julianne regan was a great performer,i still listen to them occasionally, thanks for posting,
I was there. This was sooo good. Still sends shivers through me.
Wow! I was at this concert with my sister and still remember that night all these years later.
Saw them at hammersmith a few months earlier, Julianne was breathtakingly beautiful
Many thanks for posting up this piece of history...much appreciated.
Saw them in Düsseldorf, Germany, I think the same year - supporting The Mission. How sad, that I never joined another show..... Still love this music, one of my favourite bands!
Id love that version of she moves through the fair as a studio version. With about 10 tons of bass on it.
As I recall at Hammy Odean there was a fantastic great thick slab of bass on it, gobs of bass. Coming up, it was quite something !
I was here at this gig. Also saw AAE at Hammersmith Odeon and many years later in Bristol. Happy days.
Thanks a lot for sharing.
What a brilliant gig!
These were a great band live. In The Meadow, what a classic that is.
Fucking hell thank you!! Xx
Thanks for sharing. I was 14 when i saw you guys on the same tour at Newcastle City hall. I remember the bass drum at the start moving my entire body. VERY COOL! :)
Awesome. Sadly I discovered them too late. Saw AAE on the TBJ tour, still love that album. With Sir David of Gilmourshire on guest guitar, what's not to love. The 1st 2 albums were stunning too
This is fantastic - keep coming back to it. I still find it strange that there doesn't seem to be a professionally shot and recorded live show from this era. Performance videos were popular at the time, and you can't help feeling the record company would have been keen to have one of such a fantastic live band. I have this little day dream that one might surface and surprise everyone at some point...
I had a bootleg tape of this, I picked up at the following years Reading Festival. But my ex stole it
Sadly, never got to see AAE live despite being a fan from the first album onwards. No idea why. A great regret. One of the finest voices in British music for a long time.
Due to being born too late, I didn’t get to see All About Eve live until the Fairy Night Lights era (though they were equally mesmerising then).
However *this* gig is out of this world and that’s apparent even despite the primitive recording technology. Even “Gypsy Dance” sounds good!
What I wouldn’t give for a time machine…
Back in the day when you had to smuggle a minature film crew in to a gig to secretly film it 🧐😎😉
Dang they were good
Dommage que ce soit filmé depuis la Lune
