@Sage I think this is because he’s basically figured out all the lore by now. With newer games, he’s just figuring out how the lore from the specific game fits into the timeline, unlike past theories before FNAF 4 trying to figure out how all of these games fit together as a whole

Heck, imo Matpat gives a lot more effort in creating these theories because he read the novel of Fnaf, and every time he needs to make new theories. After all,e new evidence is found, he reread them.

The fact that the time-travelling ball pit theory doesn't sound like that much of a stretch says a lot about the lore of this franchise.
Those alternate continuities are seriously killing me. Because they add so much rediculous stuff to the multiverse that Gregory bleeding in an upcoming contentupdate would literally not disprove the theory(Charlie, why did you do this to Fnaf!?)
This series is pretty campy and unapologetic I love it. Also a lot of the book lore comes off as metaphorical for me which serve as a supporting narrative for the games like identity theft , body swap etc.
@saimin yes a lot of the stories in the books aside from the og trilogy are metaphors for the events the could have transpired within the Canon timeline like elanor(baby) stealing the little girls body could be a parallel to the possibility of baby controlling vannessas body
The original book-trilogy wasn't meant to be used in context with the games, but Fnaf gets constantly retconned and Gregory could really turn out to be the second coming of nonsense if they make that theory canon. So I'd say my fears are justified.

In the books the new ones there was a story which don't quote me was To be Beautiful where it's about this girl who meets an animatronic similar to Circus Baby only this time she was tall and lanky. The girl over the course of the story was given an illusion disk by baby and was ask to never to take it off. Overtime the girl felt as if she wasn't beautiful enough so she asked baby to replace parts of her body to be beautiful. More time pass and the girl felt strange like they weren't themselves anymore so they asked baby for help in the garage only to find body parts in trash bags and to her surprise it was her own body after being mutilated she asked baby what happened and surprise baby stole their identity she took off the illusion disk to find that the body that their currently in was just a amalgamation of trash and she ended up falling apart . The reason why this parralled for me atleast is that there was a theory that Vanessa was possessed by baby and not William Which goes back to the books which are about identity theft

I just feel so bad for matpat. I mean the theory makes a lot of sense and he doesn’t deserve all the hate. It’s also really funny that you guys have been talking about the same thing for a while lol.
The things is that I don’t want it to be true and it doesn’t make any sense to me but it seems to be the most logical given the information. Steel Wool just can’t do it like Scott regardless of what I think of him.
Also people need to understand that it’s a theory, he’s not saying it’s a fact, just that it’s an informed conclusion he came to based on evidence he found.

I got a theory about the choice of the word "broken"... So as some of us remember from the dawko interview/charity streams, steelwool confirmed that scott cawthon gave them some stuff to put in the game (even John talked about it) and this sentence might be one of these things that's why it changed

It would make sense though. Why use "broken", something you use for an object or machine, said BY a machine to an assumingly human child? Why in-universe would Freddy be programmed to say that he thinks a child is "broken" when they are hurt? He would just say he thinks he is hurt, even if the censoring is true and they didn't want to show blood they didn't have to. But they chose the word "broken" in particular.
im pretty sure the reason why they changed the text was because it was a little bit too violent and for the game being rated lower and how vanny was holding a knife in promotional art but she never has it in game

You can't deny that Gregory's design is similar to the Crying Child in Fnaf 4, let alone to his eyes going on the fritz when Vanny is close and Freddy mentioning that Gregory looks different when he gets Roxy's eyes.
i mean there are also other explanations for these things as well
-fnaf is known for reusing a lot of things. example: 3 different people in the games are named jeremy but none of them has any connections whatsoever
-vanny's glitch effect could easily just be a design choice for gameplay purposes. i mean i don't see anyone mentioning the fact that moon also puts a visual on your screen
-freddy saying that gregory looks different to him doesn't necessarily mean he's a robot. he could just be seeing his skeleton or i mean roxy canonically has better vision than the other bots right? maybe he just sees gregory more clearly and is able to see smaller details on him
Yeah, and there's a chance that illusion disks were used. They are in the lore of Fnaf, and I'm pretty sure we take one out of the chest cavity of Funtime Freddy in Sister Location.

as far as i know illusion disks were only a thing in the books and never implied to have existed in the games but at the same time nothing is exactly saying they're not in the games
i mean some things in the games were in the books first like afton. obviously purple guy was always william and was in the games first however the games didn't confirm he was william afton until fnaf 6 which came out in 2017. william afton's name first appeared in the silver eyes book which came out in 2015

@@Zoxiry FNAF 4; you play as the crying child. This takes place before the events of the bite of 83. William in the Sister Location office had cameras in the crying child's room. The nightmare animatronics were not real and the discs were used to make the crying child scared of the restaurant so he doesn't get hurt. But Michael took it too far.
@@BlueNinjaGames i thought fnaf 4 was actually having michael having nightmares though. in the logbook he had a drawing of nightmare fredbear and also said he had nightmares. fnaf 4's layout is similar to the first game in which freddy hides in the dark, foxy is in an enclosed space, bonnie comes from the left and chica comes from the right. there's also the fnaf 1 phonecall that can play but it's distorted and scott said all the easter eggs in fnaf 4 meant something
I thought a lot about how Gregory is supposed to be a small child but he stays up all night long without getting tired, hungry, or needing to go to the bathroom. He also never seems to care about (or maybe even feel) pain, never seems genuinely scared, and doesn't cry other than at the very end of the story. As someone who has spent a LOT of time with little kids, Gregory doesn't act at all like a real kid.
i mean id probably stay on high alert too if there were animatronics 10x bigger than me trying to kill me as well. as for the pain thing there was a cut line in the files where gregory felt pain after cutting his arm in the vent tho it's said to have been cut because of the age rating. i think gregory also should've shown more fear because at the beginning of the game gregory does say "i don't know if i can do this alone" but they probably just didn't know how to write a protagonist for this game

You can collect sodas for upgrades, but having to use the bathroom for 6 hours isn't really that weird, and you can ignore pain when you're pumped with adreniline which Gregory would presumably be after nearly dying so often through the night.
@@gatst7680 agreed. And literally all other protagonists in the previous FNaF games never worried about sleep, food, or drinks either, does that automatically make them all robots??? Also unlike Gregory who vocalizes being scared/shouting all other protagonists are silent. 💀
Let's also not forget some kids aren't going to be prone to wailing at every thing they find scary. Neglect doesn't inspire them to show as much emotion/care as """"normal""" children would, and given Gregory is some homeless street boy he must've no doubt been neglected to the highest level.
@@Mani-oc6cy While I'm on the fence about the robot thing, I am very suspicious of the fact that Gregory survives that very long fall when Chica pulls him into the opening where the compacted garbage goes. I saw a few videos where people use mods to fly out of range, which means they can freely fly and look around the entire environment and my goodness, that fall was a HUGE fall. o.O How the heck did he survive that? If he ain't a robot, he's superhuman then lol 😂
@@kandieharrison4055 that can easily be explained away by gameplay reasons. just like how mathematically, given Gregory's size in cutscenes he shouldn't be able to comfortably fit in Freddy's small hatch, or that Freddy shouldn't be able to teleport to us whenever we enter a recharge station from across the building, or how Vanessa is able to switch into Vanny's costume in less than .02 seconds (in the lost and found scene, Vanessa is seen on the camera talking to Gregory before immediately switching to a Vanny costume), how Roxy isn't able to endlessly hunt us despite being confirmed to literally see through walls yet she could never see Gregory, and many others.
We're going to get DLC for this game, Steel Wool have confirmed this, so I'm hoping that will shed some light on things like the Gregorybot question

Yeah and I can see why people thought Gregory was a robot like his high intelligence despite being a child and his ability to swear and say a word no child would say and his ability to not cry despite being a child and the replace “broken” line so I can see why people think that Gregory is a robot personally I believe he’s just a human child who’s bravery and stuff comes from the hardship of being a homeless orphan which the bad ending confirms
There is also a cut extras section, with options like DLC, mini games, collectibles, and survival mode. And survival mode has voice lines for vanny heavily breathing, suggesting running AS her. It also is the only game mode where the vanny meter works. And almost all the code for survival mode works.

Something that has been in my head since day 1 is why Vanessa talk to Freddy in the way she does?
She don't speak to Freddy as he is a robot, she speaks at him as he is a human, as he is conscious and understand what she is saying.
She also try to make him feel bad saying he ruined the show, why would you speak like that to a robot?
The Glamrocks seem to be fully Sapient. So they're basically employees
@@erickamakeeaina1649 considering the way Vanessa and Fazbear entertainment treat them both in-game and lorewise it seems more like the word "Slaves" would be more appropriate.
They can't leave the building or their power will go out essentially killing them something that Freddy admits is an intentional limitation built into them. They probably don't get paid or compensated in meaningful way and all of them have some serious mental health issues which is something strange to see from a robot unless they were either 1. programmed that way on purpose for... reasons or 2. they somehow became sapient and/or sentient somehow (probably Glitch-Trap) and nobody noticed so they kept treating them like shit anyway.

This theory has the most evidence, but I really hope it isn't true because I really like Gregory as some random kid who was at the wrong place, wrong time (like all the other victims) except this kid is badass and fights back

It's not that the crying child is Gregory, the crying child is dead and gone and at peace, this is just a robot based on Gregory, like Charlie

This debate is heavilly reminding me of miketrap vs glitchtrap, pink vs purple, dream vs real. The main thing with this debate is no one wants this to be true bc we all want new characters. Fnaf 6 was supposed to be the end of the afton storyline. I was fine with glitchtrap being the source of a new era of fnaf but now we just have the aftons back! It completely negates fnaf 6 and henrys sacrifice.

This is just and assumption but it kind of feels as if Steel Wool weren't confident enough to make these characters truly new and original so relied on past games in the end.
Maybe they thought the fans would be mad if the aftons weren't involved.
Or I suppose it could be mandated from Scott himself. He isn't at the forefront any more but he still does work behind the scenes.

Well if Gregory IS the crying child, this series is lost to me. What a fucking stupid thing to do, the story is quickly becoming really fucking ridiculous. They need to put their foot down and establish a baseline for what makes sense and what doesnt for this series. If we have time traveling ball pits and robot kids then where's the limit? When does it stop? Is freddy going to fucking start being gay? Wtf man.

two things:
1: how gregory introduces himself to freddy gives me big "geraldine" vibes, from wanda vision. So Evan is still a possibility for a name.
2: i do believe the theory, as much as i despise it, but one of matpats peices of evidence is easily disputed, the fact chica says gregorys name was a main point of focus, but vannesa said she learned his name through the faz-watch, so thats a possibility where the rest of the animatronics heard it too.

Only question than is, why don't the other animatronics call him by his name? Or try to locate him through the Faz watch like Freddy does?
Also when he is near vanny he seems to glitch out his vision. But I def think he Is a robot just by the way he acts. He doesn't eat food, drink water, use the bathroom, sleep or anything. Most importantly he doesn't get scared, or breathe heavy, or doesn't cry for the whole game till the end

Before the game even came out, my thoughts were "What if they throw in a wacky twist at the end saying 'oh look at that, Greg is a robot, who would've thought'?". I'm glad they didn't outright say it in the game, but I can definitely see how it could be true. I'm neither for nor against Gregbot when it comes to whether I think it's true. I'm just against it being a good idea, it's just a low-hanging fruit of an idea from the writers if it's true.
Honestly this game wasn't very good at making us theorize. Another thing is the game basically indirectly telling us that Vanessa and Vanny are the same person, but then suddenly in the fire escape ending and in the therapy recordings, it's another low-lying twist of "oh my god they're not actually the same person?". Really not that interesting, and it's just so in the face with that post-credits shot.
What I'd care about is what Freddy means with "I am not me" (I swear if that's him saying he's Michael) and more lore behind the time-travelling self-duplicating Mr. Hippo Fridge Magnet™. Also why the hell are there *no* customers coming in at 6am? Why does time just stop at 6? Why does getting the third Animatronic destroyed and Freddy update built in advance the time to 6:30 or 7? Are we really expected to believe that the doors are open but nobody's flooding in? And where are the staff that are gonna repair the animatronics? They took quite the beating and aren't really gonna be able to perform at 6, especially because Greggo decides to take in anger out on the animatronics and destroy another one after the "mall" is already open again. And why are there so many arcade machines so far into the future? Did cryptomining create a chip shortage that made everyone not play video games at home anymore? What does Freddy mean by "When I step onto the West Arcade dance floor, I cannot stop myself"? Is he gonna bust out some serious moves? Why doesn't he bust out some serious moves when you come back after getting the repaired head? So many questions besides figuring out whether Regory is a grobot, yet none are answered.
pretty sure the game starts at the end of the week, I remember the announcer saying that the pizzaplex will be closed for a few days to get everything in order with freddy and to clean up. thats why no-one comes in as soon as it supposedly opens

Also with the “GlamMike” theory, notice how they both have holes in their stomachs (Michael got scooped and Freddy has a stomach hatch). I don’t know if the other animatronics have a space in their stomachs for cakes and stuff or not, but I thought it was a pretty cool idea✨
Also did you know that henry had eyes once in his life. Who else had eyes? Vanny. thats why i came to the conclusion henry is vanny and every other animatronic in this franchise. thanks for reading!

There is also the irony of Freddy, if he was Michael, using a stomach hatch of a Freddy Fazbear animatronic to protect a child, when it was a Freddy Fazbear animatronic that killed his brother and his sister was killed by Baby's stomach hatch claw.
Monty also has that stomach hatch (talking about his design, seems like the "boy" animatronics has that in their design)
circus baby has a stomach "hatch" too.
I was talking to another person through reddit about the Broken line. Broken was two other times in this franchise as well. When baby was talking to Micheal and she mentions that "She's broken" after killing elizabeth and the second time was in UCN when certain animatronics kill you, they mention you are broken and will put you back together. And this goes back to fnaf 1 where phone guy tells you that animatronics sees you as an exposed endoskeleton. So there is a good chance animatronics don't know how to describe someone hurt or dead, but say Broken when something is wrong and this could be a key that who could be talking to CC, someone or some thing with the mentality of an animatronic to describe a human "Broken"
Keep in mind that Scott’s game “Fury’s Rage” had symbolism pointing to FNAF 4. Why? Would make sense if CC from FNAF 4 is Gregory. Just saying. It’s a data point at the very least.
You're the first person I've ever saw to finally say that Fury's Rage and Security Breach are linked. I mean, it was kinda shown in Fury's Rage that the FNaF 6 location was under the Mega Pizzaplex

Personally, I still don't think Gregory is a robot,
The animatronics cannot see vanny (exept Roxy) if Gregory was a robot then he wouldn't be able to see her either, it can't be "because the animatronics were hacked" because then Freddy would be able to see her since he wasn't hacked, and when Freddy gets Roxy's eyes he CAN see Vanny, so how would a theoretically robotic Gregory see Vanny? He would need eyes on-par with Roxy's but SHE CAN SEE THROUGH WALLS!

And also the game Upgrades: Unlike Freddy's or the flashlight's, Gregory's are food. MatPat mentions in his theory that it's weird that Gregory doesn't eat, drink or get tired at all throughout the night and because of that he recharges when he's inside Freddy's charging station instead, but it's all the Fizzy Faz he drinks that boost his energy and stamina throughout the night. Hell, even the trophy for getting all sodas it's called "Sugar High" implying it's the excess of sugar that makes Gregory being able to run for longer time and don't get tired. And also when you get around 5:50am and Moon appears, you get the tutorial explaining that the recharge stations aren't working and "can't protect you". So it's most likely that Gregory just enters them with Freddy to be cautious, because imagine how it would've played out the scene where Freddy recharges and Gregory sees Vanny. If Gregory was outside waiting for Freddy to recharge and Vanny appeared out of the blue, Gregory wouldn't have anything to defend himself and Freddy wouldn't be able to protect him.
Yeah, I don't get that claim about Gregory using the recharge stations to recharge himself and not using food or drink, there's literally hardly any evidence for that. He clearly DOES eat and drink to boost his abilities, and the recharge stations are literally to charge Freddy. The game explains that Gregory needs to go to the recharge stations every hour because otherwise Moon will hunt him down and get him because all the power is gone except at the recharge stations, so Moon can roam free everywhere else, and only the recharge stations can protect Gregory because they're the only safe areas with power. Gregory can keep going as long as he wants without needing to "recharge" at a recharge station, he'll just get killed by Moon at some point probably if he does.
Also another point with Vanny messing with his eyes, what about Moon? He also has a weird visual filter, but that's never brought up in one way or the other. It's likely just a visual thing for the player, it doesn't have to be lore related.

During the "That is a fountain." cutscene, you're seeing through Freddy's point of view. He can actually still see Vanny, although the visuals are very glitched in a similar way to Gregory's, he just doesn't RECOGNIZE she's there, in a "programmed to not acknowledge" sense. There is actually some cut precedence for this, as some scrapped dialogue from Freddy about finding a button shows that he KNOWS there's a button, but is programmed to not acknowledge it, so he can't press it for himself. Of course, this doesn't explain how Gregory can actually acknowledge that Vanny's after him and still run away from her, but the counter-evidence of the visuals just being gameplay stuff does not hold up much imo.

I thought about this too, but what if William did not put him back together in the first place? what if he doesn't know? what if it was henry who built Evan back together. think about it, it always seemed like it was William who said the iconic line when Evan died. But why would William say: "we are still your friends, do you believe that?" if it was henry and/or charlie it would make sence since the "we are still your friends" line would be referring to Henry and Charlie. And Henry built a humanoid robot who looked exactly like his daughter in the book series. It would make sence that Henry would like to help the innocent child with a murderous father and put him back together

In The Fourth Closet, one of the main plot lines with Afton is that he's transferring bits and pieces of himself into the mess of melted-down OG animatronics so he can figure out how to recreate life, or as he says, to live forever. Just a bit I remembered after rereading it for the 20th time yesterday.
"(Cry not, crawl, shoot, crush the vile band)" sounds like FNAF SECURITY BREACH and how the game is played.
I wish Georgery was a real kid but I'm willing to accept that he is a robot.
I feel like the “I feel you are broken” line is one of the things Scott told them to put in the game without a reason like they mentioned in the interview.

Do these clues make sense? Yes, but does it CONFIRM? I don't think so for sure. I don't want our first child that is just human to be plot twist turned into a robot again. Because number one, I love his personality and doubt that it's cry child, because he doesn't act like him at all. Doesn't mention anything like, "Hey your not that scary" or "man I don't want to be inside a robot, that's how I died in the first place" even if he was Crying child, he would still have some form of caution, but he doesn't. Could you make the arguement that he toughened up after dying and being with Casidy, I guess, but this brings me to my second point.
Crying child and the original four were freed in Happiest day. Leaving Cassidy, Elizabeth, and potential other children that was killed by the funtimes or Vanny. How would William be able to literally drag a soul back down from Heaven?
And here is my third point that isn't too strong, but still would make sense. Freddy does say that you are broken, and yes that is a line that has been said before, but if he said that he was broken, he wouldn't try to take him to a first aid station, he would try and take him to parts and service. Why would he take a broken thing to a place where people would bandage themselves up? He is doing what his programming told him. Take a child to first aid. Some may say that when Freddy gets Roxy's eyes that Gregory looks different that he could be seeing his robot parts, but I also don't think that's the case. He has seen and knows what endos are, so if he saw them in Gregory he would mention it. I think what Freddy was trying to describe is that he has never seen the insides of a human body before. The inside of a human body would be something really strange to see and hard to adjust to, or he is realizing how colorful Gregory is now. But either way, I feel he would mention something along the lines of metal or robotics.
Another thing is that if Gregory was made Even is that we would find some blueprint literally anywhere in the Pizza plex. If Afton was truly trying to get his son back, he wouldn't want the animatronics to hurt Gregory, nor would Vanessa want to try and find identification of Gregory (unless she truly isn't Vanny, then that changes that) but even if you get the secret ending, I feel like William would take control of Freddy to hurt his son, or he could have made Freddy say a message to him like "welcome back" if he truly cared about bringing him back, because he tried to bring Elizabeth back and had shown great interest to enough to tell Michael about it. That was more of my opinion though, but it can still stand.
And here is one more point that I would like to bring up, and its Gregory's design and character. Gregory has many bandaids on his arms and face, why would a robot need a bandaid? Now I know that Charlie in the books was able to bleed and somehow heal like a normal person, but I don't feel that is the case, because another point that I wanted to bring up is in the worst ending you can get, Gregory covers himself with a newspaper and is able to cry. Not only that but Gregory mentions "Not wanting to be turned into a MEAT pretzel".
Anyways...thanks for listening to my TED talk XD I had way to much time sitting in an empty classroom wait to go home to type this whole thing. I do not discriminate people that believe this theory as it does make sense, but at the same time, I dont fully believe it or want it to be true. I just want our brave boy to be just that. I like the theory of Gregory being the crying child. It makes sense with the story. However I have another theory. Gregory is Micheal aftons kid. I believe the show from sister location helps foreshadow some sort of idea of a “monster” and a human having a kid. In the show the vampire is purple and could be represented as Michael. Plus it could explain why Glamrock Freddy is not hostile because of Michael. Though the Gregory is crying child theory I can see and agree with.

I'd like to point out one thing that differs between Gregory and the Crying Child, their actions around animatronics. The crying child was absolutely TERRIFIED of the animatronics (even if he had toys of said animatronics around his house) and could barely stand to be in the same room as one. Gregory constantly and consistently hops on into Freddy with *no* fear, something that the crying child would never do, even as a rebuilt version of himself. And then the "FNAF 6" Pizzareia under the Pizzaplex... Well, unless someone installed cameras and expanded that tiny ass room that Michael Afton was staying in after FNAF 6, then that's not the same Pizzareia, and rather, a much, much older one that perhaps got turned into a storage facility, and a place where the blob ended up being created due to the careless nature of Fazbear Entertainment.
Have y'all ever heard of faz-goo? It's from the Fazbear Fright books which can be used for stuff like cloning a person or becoming a person. The reason why I'm saying this is because Gregory could not be a robot and instead be made out of faz-goo.
Unused game files aren’t used for a reason. Golden Freddy was named as Yellow Bear in FnAF 1.
It was confirmed in the files that the “You’re broken” line was originally “You’re bleeding” but the devs changed it for family friendly reasons
Still he could still be a robot after all in the novels Charlie is a robot but bleeds a lot so that line does it really change anything plus it had to have been removed for a reason right and it being changed to something that connect him to the crying child feels like they're trying to get our attention between the two characters

I remember thinking about Gregory being a robot even BEFORE THIS GAME CAME OUT AS WELL!!!! Its the fact that we all read the books, that's probably why we all came to the conclusion! It just makes sense for where fnaf is going. Scott loves Science Fiction, we gotta remember his roots. He's just taking the opportunity to make this horror series into a Sci-Fi horror one instead. and I LOVE IT. He dodges the animatronics to not get caught, he gets to flash the with the FazCam, he gets to shoot them with the FazerBlaster, he crawls around in ducts or the ground to not get caught too, he runs away from all of them, and the final part “ crush the vile band “, well, I think it pretty much explains itself pretty well, Gregory literally crushed the vile band, he crushed Chica, Roxy and Monty to get the upgrades, but not just for that, as we can tell when Gregory finds out about the updates saying “ All they have done all night is try to hurt me, THEY GET WHAT THEY DESERVE “ meaning that Gregory sees them as evil, as a VILE BAND
* The part that says “ Cry not, try not, do not hold out hope “ is very relatable to Gregory too, as he even involved in all this mess does not cry or anything, but he also does not hold out hope at all, as we can tell when he gets very disappointed at the beginning when the doors get closed out right in front of him, we can also know that he has no hope of surviving this when living the Daycare when Freddy mentions to him that there’s only five more hours to go, which he responds with “ Good news?! Five hours?! I’m not gonna last five minutes!! “. Does that sound to someone holding out hope to you?
* And another one of the most relatable ones with Gregory, “ Your life, your aim will save those with soul “
At the end of the day, in one of the endings, the CANON ending actually I think, his life and his aim of leaving the PizzaPlex saved those with souls, bringing the place to the ground and finally leaving Afton on the lost souls hands once again to take revenge and finally find their peace

Fun fact: Freddy was to say “I detect bleeding” but they didn’t include it because it didn’t match the games age rating.
Even though that is the case - the use of the word ‘broken’ seems very deliberate. A more natural word choice would’ve been “I feel you are hurt” or “injured”. It may be that the term was changed for narrative reasons as well, rather than simply the age rating for the game.
This is a very cool theory but I think it would ruin Gregory's character.

If Gregory is CC rebuilt, then it would work for the timeline, William wouldn't have had enough time to make robots for his youngest son's future life stages because, you know, he had "work" to do for whatever reason, even though when his and Henry's business was clearly going to succeed. I hope that a DLC is added and possibly gives more story on Gregory and that "leave the Pizzaplex" ending scene, and just in general with those secrets spaces hidden around the Pizzaplex. I think it was Michael who wanted to do it, because he was devastated what he did, as we see in FNAF 4 with him looking scared at the Fredbear animatronic once it chomps on his baby brother's head, but through what means we don't know yet. William could have brought his son back in Body(which maybe CC's soul went in to after it left Golden Freddy in the Happiest Day) but Michael wanted to put his brother back, body and soul, and after all the torment he went through he maybe felt it was better to just let his brother's soul go and be free from all the torment he was still facing as he possessed Golden Freddy with Cassidy(who is very unhinged to me, especially now that William escaped the mental torture Cassidy was putting him through, and thus followed him and is possibly inside The Blob and controlling that as well) and was still trapped. So, Michael released his little brother's soul and that soul possibly found the robotic body and gave it life.
Or, and this is my theory, Gregory is a human kid, who is the biological son of Michael Afton, and just happens to look like his deceased Uncle, because genetics, and everything that Freddy says and all that goes on are just juicy easter eggs for all the OG FNAF fans to eat up like so many Fazbear Pizzas.

Yeah I've seen a lot of people point to the idea of Gregory, or hell even Vanessa, being Michael's child and that's why they would look like their deceased uncle/aunt. The thing is, with the timeline, the only concrete date we have is that Elizabeth and Evan, or the Crying Child's death took place in 1983 with the television in FNAF4 saying it was that year and the secret code in Sister Location being 1983 potentially referencing that as the year Elizabeth died and went into Baby, explaining why her room is empty by the time of Fnaf 4. Gregory seems to be around the 10-year-old mark, which means he couldn't be Michael's son because Michael would've been scooped around 1987 for him to be in FNAF 1, do his thing and leave so that Jeremy moves to the Dayshift and gets bitten in the Bite of '87. If we assume that this game takes place a few years after Pizzaria Simulator due to it still being there under the Pizzaplex and not quite as ruined as it would be after years and years, then by the time of FNAF 3 with Springtrap (which took place 30 years after FNAF 3 so in 2022 and the Pizzaria Simulator shortly after, Michael would be around his 50s and a purple corpse by that point so I doubt he would've fathered any kids around that time.
@@lilchaos9212 We don't know when Michael was scooped, the final ending in Sister Location shows a burned down Fazbear's Fright and Springtrap reawakening after said fire, so if what is said in that game lines up then Michael was actually scooped right after FNAF 3, which could have happened if Michael had found an old letter or voice message from William telling him to go to Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental, but when Michael first got that he didn't go because he was probably trying to distance himself from his father and just concentrate on saving his brother and the other kids' souls in FNAF 1, and in FNAF 2 where it's implied he was the second night guard after Jeremy got his frontal lobe bit. So with that, Michael would have had the time between '93 and whenever Security Breach takes place to have a family before going to "rescue" his sister. Also, keep in mind that Michael would have been in his late teens early 20s in FNAF 2, and the voice we hear in Sister Location is clearly an adult male voice, probably in his 40s or 50s. I'm not saying that anything is true or false, just giving my own theory.

Your theory that William Afton, not Michael as most theorists are assuming, is the one who made that cryptic message for Gregory is actually pretty interesting, but I think it makes sense, even if it being in Michael's living room would be strange. Michael was a technician, he never built anything nor would he have the knowledge to (as far as we know anyways), but William made the Funtimes and possibly other animatronics, and if he was dismantling the classics in the FNaF 3 minigames to infuse their Remnant to the Funtimes, then he really DID "build their breath" by giving them life! The only issue is that William making this message portrays him as somewhat more caring about another person's well-being, which is against FNaF's MO of making sure William has as little redeeming qualities as possible, so it'd be weird to show him in a somewhat-sympathetic light when he's arguably at his most evil here by manipulating Vanny and taking over the Pizzaplex's tech.

It sounds odd, but I think everything, and I do mean everything, was William’s plan. He manipulated his children all the way to this point. Setting up Elizabeth to attack Micheal, Traumatize Evan and force his spirit to reassemble and resurrect. All of this done so he could unlock the secret of immortality.

I honestly believe this theory. It’s more solid than the other one(but disks could also be involved for all we know.), AND it aligns with what has been put in front of us time and time again.. the robot child thing wouldn’t be brought up so many times in different ways if it wasn’t relevant or important. Think about it! SCOTT IS VERY SPECIFIC, with his mysterious stories if you pay close enough attention. Take Mr. Hippo’s monologue as an invite to do the exact opposite.

Honestly I like it tho! Yeah most people wanted Gregory to be his own character with no attachments to anything we already know of the franchise. But I like the idea because, c'mon yall, in a game full of twists and packed with lore, having the crying child, who had no known personality and quirks of his own, come back and letting us see how he would be if was still alive is pretty dope. Yeah it would be a very obvious twist, but it adds to the lore and gives a leeway to other theories, like Michael being GlamFreddy, being actually cannon to the franchise!

no because i like the idea that it was michael who rebuilt the crying child after the fire. he believed that he had fixed the problems there, and fixed the last one. he was the one who got his brother killed, and he was the one to fix him. then he later died, went onto haunt freddy, to help him take down this establishment once and for all because he lacked a physical body to do it with. that would explain the “fatherly vibe” we get from freddy. it’s a guardian thing. i also feel like there’s symbolism between children being put into animatronics, it used to be a bad thing, and now it’s a good thing, used to the advantage. two brothers defeating their father, who ruined their lives. but of course, this franchise is funky, and we don’t know what the true ending is, not that this story will ever end.

I think the fact that a lot of people completely separate from each other formed this theory themselves also gives the theory a lot of validity. It shows that there are actual, genuine clues throughout the game that point to this theory being true.

I find it funny that a lot of people thought of the same thing, because I myself did have my own thoughts that Gregory is the crying child, I just find it funny that two or more of my favorite TH-camrs though of the same theory. And in my opinion it doesn’t really matter who thought of it first.
my main theory for this is that freddy said “i sense you are broken” because he could have known vanessa was coming and wanted an excuse to take gregory off path to avoid her. as well to back this up there is that freddy is a robot and maybe can’t destiguish hurt from broken with limited vocabulary. also in one of me hippos death screens in either ucn or fnaf 6 (i forget which one) he tells his story and says something about not looking into everything or something along those lines 👍
From some cut voice when I listen to it seemed that Gregory would have cut himself while crawling in the vent which would have caused Freddy to mention that he is bleeding

I wrote a theory on the wall code & I posted about it on Dawko's video as well as the GT Subreddit but I'd love to get your opinions on it John (if you read this) Oh and you're 100% right, Freddy glitches out after seeing Gregory in the crowd.
I think it's centered around Michael. This is primarily because it's in the sister location room, the cartoons are playing which is what Mike probably would've watched as a teen and because the door only becomes visible when you acquire Roxy's eyes. Running with the theory that Glam Fred is possessed with Michael, I'm going to TRY and decipher the meaning line by line. (I've also seen DJ Sterf's comment about "No" being on the 5th line so I will include this)
"Break and mend, I built the breath." - Referring to CC. When we think about it, Michael was the first one to force a child and animatronic to interact in such a gruesome way, he kickstarted all the events that came to happen, "I built the breath" could mean something along the lines of "I started it all."
"They haunt now, drawn to life." - The souls of the dead kids that are haunting the animatronics are trying to find life to save. Now I'm under the assumption that the other Glamrocks are just in security mode, they are not possessed BUT on the assumption that they are, this could indicate that the Glamrocks are drawn to Gregory as he is alive. (Sorry to the RoboGreg believers) It could also be taken in a literal sense as "haunt" could be another meaning for them patrolling the areas.

These two are similar and Mike has been through so much that he no longer identifies as Michael Afton but somewhere within the lines of code, he knows he is. Maybe he's referring to the younger version of himself, the one that sent CC to his death. The physical Mike is no longer real but the soul/remnant of him is and that's what is "still me".
"And frit and fraught with thought and zest and gest no blunt woes." - Looking at the break down of this line (thank you to reddit for the meanings!) it talks about being full of anxiety but having a sense of adventure. That is quite literally what we do throughout the game, Freddy directs us through this adventure despite the fact that at the END of the game we see Freddy get upset when Gregory briefly mentions the disappearances. Michael knows the cycle has started again and he's full of anxiety because it's his fault.
"Dodge, duck, flash, shoot, crawl, run, crush the vile band. (Including DJ Sterf's) No." - Mike is fighting with Freddy here. Mike wants his fathers creations destroyed for good, telling Gregory to get rid of them but Freddy's AI argues that, telling him "No" because they are his friends and Freddy knows his friends are not programmed to hurt anybody.
"Cry not, try not, do not hold out hope." - Mike has been through this pain and torture for so long that he no longer holds out hope that his plans will ever truly work. He says at the end of the game "I feel there is something else going on besides Vanny." He needs Gregory's help to stop it because he knows he can't do it alone anymore.
"Your life, your aim will save those with soul" - After kickstarting the whole thing back in 1983, Mike has been going through hell and back to try to stop his father from killing more children. He's decided that his life, as torturous as it is for him is dedicated to saving the souls that he CAN save after so many souls were lost to the hands of his father.
To add further to this & to address the RoboGreg theory: When Vanessa says that Gregory has no record and he can't be returned to his parents, Freddy says "how unfortunate" in a strange way and moves on from the conversation very quickly. If Freddy really didn't know who Gregory was, surely he'd say something along the lines of "Well that's not good, perhaps we should contact the authorities to see if they can locate his parents." Whether Gregory is a robot or a human etc, either way he is an Afton in some regards and Freddy / Mike knows that.
I don't think Gregory is a robot with the soul of a cry child and I have proof. The first evidence is the completely different personalities of both, cry child is someone who is completely traumatized by the animatronics, trauma product of his father, his brother and that he FUCKING DIED for an animatronic, besides he is a crybaby, instead Gregory does not He's just the fucking doom slayer of the animatronics, but he also had no problem getting inside Glamrock Freddy to hide. Seriously, someone with those traumas could act so calm inside an animatronic and just a version of the animatronic that killed him? The second piece of evidence is that he doesn't need to recharge like an animatronic, a robot on Gregory's level would spend a lot of energy just like Freddy. The third piece of evidence is that Gregory in the bad ending is sleeping in a box on the street wearing newspapers, which confirms that Gregory needs to sleep and feels cold. Another thing, who the hell was it that created Gregory and for what purpose? The only ones who could build a robot of that caliber is fazbear entertainment, however it does not make sense that they, who only think about money, would create the robot of an ordinary child and be so independent, that creation is not profitable to the company, William Afton and Vanny would also not be able to create it considering the state of burntrap.

The similarities between Gregory and the crying child are wishy washy at best and outlandish at worst. Yeah, they have a hair stripe in the middle of their faces, but the way the rest of the hair is shows that... that's just not good ground to stand on. Same for the shirt with stripes. The colours on the shirts are different, the colours on the shorts are different, the colour of the eyes is different (but that is arguable if we assume that at least one of the Afton kids is adopted).
If we want to have one physical similarity and leave out everything that contradicts said similarity, sure, you can see crying child in Gregory if you squint reeeaally hard.
But here's the thing. Gregory and the crying child have contrasting personalities! One is called the crying child because he cries, and the other is the most badass child I've ever seen, destroying the same animatronics the other would have been too afraid to be in a radius of 10 metres! Now tell me how on earth these two are supposed to be the same character.
You didn't mention this, but since you said Matthew was right, here's one more for the list. MatPat said that Gregory has been living in the hidden rooms and all that where there are animatronic parts. He says that he's been using them to get himself fixed. Here's the thing though, if Gregory is getting himself fixed as a robot would, why does he not want to be turned into a meat pretzel at the beginning of the game? //that is, if we assume Gregory has been using these rooms, which wouldn't make sense for various reasons.
We know Gregory thinks of himself as human, but after some time he would expect to grow, right? Maybe he's only been activated recently, sure, but then why would he have only been activated now?
Crying is normal in a situation of danger, of course the writing on the wall will be trying to comfort the reader.
Admittedly, we do not know how Gregory got in. Given his masterful stealth, I wouldn't put it past him to have sneaked in during the day. What we know, however, is that it was always his intention to leave the mall - had he been an animatronic/child staying in the pizzaplex this whole time, he would have been able to get out however long he's been in there for.
There is absolutely no reason to believe that Glamrock Freddy has any connection with Michael Afton. Sure, let's assume that Gregory and the crying child are the same. So what? There is nothing to make that connection other than the fact that Freddy is being nice to a kid, the same way he was programmed to do. Big deal.
I have no explanation for Gregory being broken. However, if we are talking of the same kind of "broken" as the crying child, simply taking Gregory to a first aid station is... not enough by far. It is true that we never hear "You are broken" ever again, but what we do hear is the line that comes after. "I will put you back together" is not just something said in FNaF 4. Instead, in The Fourth Closet, Michael Brooks says very much the same thing - he puts drawings of the missing children back together, then draws on top of them. This is very much putting the fragmented souls and agony back together, a healing process that would have allowed the children to move on to the afterlife. If this was ever promised to the crying child, I assure you it wouldn't have been by remaking him into a robot and releasing him in the pizzaplex.
The "I sense you are broken" line is the only thing that makes the idea of these two being remotely related less outlandish. I don't like to use unused data as evidence, that would be stupid and that would make the Faz-facts canon, which would open a whole new can of plot holes, so I agree that Gregory bleeding is not the truth in the game.

There is even cut voice line that was replaced by "your're broken".In the previous one Freddy actually pointed out that Gregory is bleeding but they replaced it with that.

With all due respect, I really disagree:
1. The glitched vision: a lot of people state that the fact that Gregory's vision glitches when Vanny's near means his eyes are robotic. But this can be possible by an illusion disc that vanny could be wearing. And before you say that it wouldn't make sense that she would wear that, let me ask you why would she be wearing an artifact that can disrupt a robot's vision? after all, that glitch has nothing to do with the hack that vanny did to the glamrocks to make herself invisible because we can still see her, so, it wouldn't make sense why would she wear that either.
2. "I feel you're broken": it's stated that the line that glamrock freddy says to gregory builds a connection between him and Evan Afton, we agree that for gregory to be evan first he needs to be robot, so if he is a robot, why would he "brake"? why would he get injured? how could he get injured? and how could going to a first aid station help? (and I know that in the books robots can get hurt and bleed just like humans, but Fazbear's E. don't have that kind of tech, you'll understand later why I'm talking about them.)
3. Similar appearance: another "evidence" is the similarity that gregory has with evan. I don't need to debunk this because it's already a very weak point, but for your information, their hair is very different.
4. He's not registered in the mall: so what? he probably infiltrated without anyone noticing. And even if that's not possible, it doesn't suggest he's a robot either.
5. "You look... different to me": it's said that this line is "evidence" because for some reason it means that glamrock freddy can see that gregory is a robot. This has a lot of holes. First, if he's seeing now that gregory is a robot, why doesn't he point that out? why doesn't he care? he is supposed to be able to identify one. Second: during the gameplay, after freddy gets his new eyes, we can't never see through any robot, he isn't able to do that, this can mean 3 things:
a. He is now able to see through/detect humans, including vanny. After all, we never see her again in gameplay to test that.
b. He is now able to see through/detect humans, but not through vanny because she hacked the glamrocks. this could also make sense because maybe the hack that vanny did stopped freddy from seeing through her even though he can now see her exterior.
c. He can't see through/detect humans but we know he can detect prizes and personal stuff left in the mall, so because gregory grabbed many things at that point, freddy can now see those things through gregory in his backpack.
6. Patient 46: People say this is a strong evidence because it shows that gregory isn't a normal kid. And I agree. But that doesn't mean he's a robot.
First we need to know the *why* . Why would gregory kill random people? (according to the tapes). He's a killer right? but this brings problems to his assumed identity.
a. A robot made by Afton: he couldn't be a robot made by him because he's not at his command, gregory kills Afton in his ending.
b. Cassidy: I actually theorized before that Cassidy would infiltrate in the pizzaplex because just like Afton, he was also evidently in the Fazbear's system as a virus, but gregory still couldn't be cassidy because first, why would he try to escape the mall if he's going after Afton? and second, why would he put himself in a robot-kid and not in a powerful Golden Freddy that can turn invisible like in fnaf AR?
c. Evan Afton: he couldn't be him because, well, Evan is not a psychopath! for much vengeful that the fandom assumes he is to his father, he wouldn't just randomly kill some psychologists.
7. "Savior" ending image:
The reason I put this at the end is because this the only evidence that is actually valid.
this image can totally indicate a connection between gregory and vanessa, with Evan and Elizabeth.
But yet again, this is the only valid evidence. It's too poor to prove that gregory is a robot,
because he (probably) isn't.
People are saying cuz Gregory stumbles on his name it means he doesn't know his name and is making it up because he's C.C. But maybe it's just cuz he doesn't know his name cuz he was abandoned at a young age.
