In COD MW 2019 there was a blueprint for the M4A1 called the XRK M4. It had an optic that looks strikingly similar to the Leupold HAMR with a piggyback red dot.
That was fun to use. That game was awesome when it came out. All the characters actually looked military and it had a serious tone. Then 1 year later it was goofy skins and just ridiculous
I'm tempted to go back to that game but sadly the PvE in that game is frustrating without competent teammates. Also, the game didn't age well after season 3.

Can anyone explain why Leupold would destroy your deltapoint if you sent in the HAMR for warranty service? Legitimately wondering why this is, and why they think this is acceptable... I would be absolutely furious if they did that to me.
Probably similar reasoning to why watchmakers will swap out old parts for new ones even though the old part on an original watch makes it worth more: reliability and reputation. They don't want to send something back to a consumer "fixed" with a part that may fail. I'd be a bit shocked if they tossed your DP and didn't at least offer a discount on a DPP (as someone who has owned a DPP, it's overpriced for what it is).
Eotech EXPS 3-4 paired with a PA GLX 6X magnifier on knockoff Unity mounts is the goldilocks setup that took me 7 years to experiment to find. So damn good. Also spent under $900 on the combo and mounts
Really? How's the eye relief and eye box on the glx 6x? I generally steer clear of magnifers above 4x cause almost all of them seem to be harder to use than a similar magnification LPVO.
It’s not even hard to test and see how BS it is. Place optic still on surface. Aim at something with right eye. Cover front of optic. Look at reticle with right eye. See where left eye perceives reticle. Is it still on the same target? No.
I run a HAMR with a Hahn precision adapter and T2 on top and a adm mount. I have the original delta point and shroud gathering dust in the back of the safe. I love this set up.
The original deltapoint was terrible. I worked with Hahn Precision to make an Aimpoint Micro adapter for these in 2012 because the original Deltapoints were so bad. They still have some of these adapters, last I checked. I’d recommend getting one if you’re keeping the HAMR.
Part of the glare rejection you note might be the internal surface of the optic. I think it's called light bafflling. Peek inside and see what looks like threads all the way way through it, that's the baffling. Crests of threads or points have a teeny tiny surface area that isn't as capable of reflecting light like a flat surface. It's the equivalent of serrating the top of a slide or iron sight surfaces.
As I remember it was a complex, sight then red dot LCO with really small dot /and without "blue sky" red dots in the glass/ and the periscope for corner shots. It was very interesting complex but it was so expensive that it become history without any popularity...

Two years ago you could've gotten 4 Vortex Spitfire Gen II 5x Prism scopes for the cost of one of these. Now you can't find them under 400 (not counting the odd factory/show demo).
Remember serving with one of these back when stuff was popping off in the aegean. good rugged build. Handled the recoil of the 6.5 MX well. Unlike the ACO red dot some MOSs got issued.

Can block some of your target if it's small/ far and it's sometimes "busy" when you want to go fast. I can see the hate but I agree with you: I generally prefer chevrons or crosses, but maybe that's my boomer, ACOG preference coming through.
Seems that every time Hop does a video on some weird, obscure old optic I'm like "Oh yeah, I have one of those." My HAMR came with the original DP and shield. The DP expired shortly thereafter, replaced by Leopold warranty with a DPP and has now been replaced a second time under warranty. However, the HAMR continues to perform just fine on its' Alamo DLOC QD mount, which is obscure in its own right. I prefer the HAMR to ACOG's for both the adjustable diopter and because all my ACOG's look like Brassfacts, with a big wad of tape covering 99% of the fiber optic tube.
I have the HAMR since 2013 & I have the DDP on top of it. The correction way using the HAMR is to turn it 45 degree to your left and using your left eye for DDP red dot.

I've seen a lot of people have a 45 degree red dot mount for quick transition to their magnification scope, because 1. People are not use to using their other eye for red dot, 2 A LOT of people don't put the toe of the buttstock and place them at their pocket (divot) of their shoulder and use their cheek to stabilize the rifle for their shots. I shoot left handed and I can quickly transition from the HAMR and the DDP without any other mount.
@@weaponxp i experimented with this on my acog. While it works, its pretty weird switching which eye is aiming. I prefer to keep things in line. Also with such a tall mount, you dont just have height over bore to think about, but a diagonal height over bore. I like tall mounts but not canted tall mounts on my off eye.
@@dar5647 It takes getting use to it but it works and you can transition very quickly. As for as diagonal height over bore, it took some time to get my DPP Zero at 50 yards at 45 degree.
Damn the hamr scope. Brings me back to the good old black ops 2 HAMR LMG with the “hybrid optic” let you have full rpm if you spammed the switch over and over.
It's odd too that the physical scope looks so small in video, but it tarkov the HAMR feels giant and covers too much of your view. Compared to a vuhdo, razer or tango it's pretty terrible.
@@platniumdr Yeah, it's one of the earliest models of scope added in the game IIRC and they probably did it before they started having physical access to all the stuff they put in game, so I suspect it probably is a bit too oversized and the sight picture is the way it is because they had no real idea of how big the reticle is relative to the FoV of the scope.
My dream optic would be a 4x prism with a built in 1x mini prism on top, sounds goofy but once a company figures out how to build a 1x mini prism that fits on an RMR mount with long eye relief for pistols I think it would be a hot seller

The HAMR is also in Zero Caliber, a more recent obscure VR title. Can't remember if it's actually licensed in the game but it's very useful.

A ta02 with t2 top dot and side picatinny to mount a LAM, and thermal on a flip to side is my fantasy optic package

IOR had their Pitbull which switched from 1 to 4 power with no variable. It's about as out of date as the HAMR.
