Chasing Giants - DIY public land New Mexico Archery Mule Deer Hunt (2022)

This was a hunt I had been truly looking forward to. 6 days solo in the wilderness 10 miles from any road. I had some incredible opportunities and was fortunate enough to chase some deer that you only dream about seeing in a unit as easy to draw as this one. I am truly looking forward to revisiting this spot in years to come.

Awesome video! I know exactly where you're at. I shot a huge buck first rifle season 2022, but way west of you, more in the foothills, just south and down in the canyon from where you probably parked. I hope I draw the same unit this year.

Hey man! Simple setup! I'm shooting a Canon R with a prime 50MM 1.8 EF lens as well as an EF 100-400 for the longer range shots. This is a fairly inexpensive setup (comparatively). I'm looking to scale it up but for starting out, it gets the job done!
