A review of Judgement as it was recently released for Steam, and I wanted to give my thoughts on the game. Judgement is very similar to the Yakuza games but I wanted to find out if Judgement could go toe to toe with a huge series like Yakuza. Watch the full review of Judgement to find out! - เกม
Judgment has a few gameplay features that I wonder if they were supposed to be more involved but either they couldn’t figure it out or they thought it would take away from the action. Like you’re right you don’t feel like a detective really in gameplay besides some side missions I think plus there’s the different costumes “mechanic”
the detective gameplay have always been basic for me, but i did notice some improvements in the Kaito Files DLC. for example, during the investigation sequences, I needed to find clues to find someone in a cafe. but I overheard someone losing their wallet near an entrance. so i checked and lo and behold, i found it, returned it to the guy and got a reward.
maybe thats all they needed. just engaging logic puzzles with side rewards. then they could expand on that in some way.
Agreed. Everything else about this game was phenomenal though.
It's a good time to be a yakuza/judgment fan and lost judgment is somehow even better to an insane degree
Also would recommend actually trying yakuza 7 since you like persona 5 it has a really great story and characters which feels refreshing having a JRPG party be 40-50 year olds instead of vauge anime teenagers
Can’t wait to play it.
I sadly cannot agree. The sequel was forgettable to me. The first game is my favorite RGG game though
Sadly disagree since it removed mortal wounds and doesn't explore status ailments like lad 7 did
2:18 they didnt, its reused from Yakuza 6, but its impressive they considered to add it, since they could have just stretched the building by half a meter and call it a day. But instead they decided to stick to that crammed feeling his office should have. Its both refined and raw. The polish and design are supreme, but there is a sink in the back with dirty dishes and a hang dryer. Plus he sleeps on a very uncomfortable looking couch
yeah, my friend had the same issue when i lent them my copy. i think if the game was a bit more up front about it's linearity with the detective aspect it wouldn't be as much of a problem 😅 glad the pc ports are giving more people an opportunity to play the games though : D
One of my only problems with this game is that 90% of the boss fights are recycled from other games. There’s only about 4 characters with original movesets.
I used to collect a bunch of plushies and toys in judgement in put them all in a corner. The collision for each and every one of them all together in a corner actually makes them freak out so I made it as a junk ball. You can probably fit every plushie and toy into a huge mess and try to test the piles limits to see how much you can put on it.
I hope someone manages to put out a mod that brings back the PS4 cinematic filter for the first one. In my opinion, they totally butchered the art style with the remaster
Great vid! :D
The filter was 💩
I saw a friend on the remaster starting screen, and the overdone shadow made me _shriek_ laughing. That, and the skin textures look too smooth, imo. Yagami and other characters have a sort of weathering to their faces in the PS4 version that sells them as human modeled characters, but it's noticeably toned down with the lighting in the remaster + LJ. Reflections and wet surfaces are also muddled up, which is a hit to the aesthetics.
Lighting is just cursed to be fudged in every remaster, from Dark Souls to Judgment.
@@amberhernandez That's why I'd rather have a direct port than a remaster/remake
They think making everything shiny and realistic immediately turns it "better" than the original
1:48 glad I wasn't the only one who thought that was awesome
Lost judgment is the one with the insane bussin combat
so true
Have you played yakuza like a dragon or yakuza 0 because yakuza Kiwami is a budget title that is a remake of a game from 2005 in which the same story problems and new gameplay problems may apply
Yakuza Kiwami is the best way to start the series. No doubt about it. The gameplay and story problems are in 0, not in Kiwami.
@@adrenaliner91unfortunately Yakuza Kiwami 1 was made as an addition for 0, for newer players that can’t play the original
Your drone has a lot of... personality. Lol.
Thank you, thank you. I try.
This game has zero problems. Saved you 8 mins.
Thank you 😂.. was actually looking for a critique of the game because I feel the game stops you way too many times to do mindless detective stuff which takes away from the combat which is d main reason I play yakuza games.
Boss fight feel so brutal start juggling them
What about lost judgement? ;)
That bassline! 🎸🎸🎸
Yeaaaah buddy
@@thatguybis1997 Ronnie Coleman?
Yeah, I think you need to play Kiwami 2 or Yakuza 6.
why am i bad? 😂
Im gonna give this game a good chance because i really enioyed Yakuza 0-6 but damn first chapter in and its quite long winded feels like its quite stretched out. The Yakuza games are long enough 4 hours in 1 chapter is too much unless gaming is your life…
I ain’t too far into the video, and I haven’t played Lost Judgment yet, but I really dislike how a staple of the franchise after 3, which is karaoke, is absent from Judgment
There is a reason why for that, Takuya who plays Yagami is under a strict record label so getting him to sing in Judgement was next to impossible.
@@miragebangbravern2024 That's a fucking shame. Karaoke is the best side activity
Cos it's not a Yakuza game
Please record your game footage at a higher bitrate 😭
Bahahaha chillll obs was being a bitch okay
U should try demon's souls remastered and Bloodborne
Certainly on the list
great vid but you spelled Judgment wrong
Fixed it!
@@thatguybis1997 hope you get more views 👍
RGG should've kept every Yakuza game $20 as it should be for the remasters.
What the hell are you talking about? The 3 remastered games (3, 4 and 5) are 20 bucks or in a complete package for 40 and often 30 or less. And on GOG is the whole Kiryu-Story without Gaiden under 30 bucks right now.
dude, you gotta try yakuza 0,kiwami is not that good
Yessir
Kiwami is much better than 0 could ever be and Kiwami is the absolute best to start the series. If I would have started with 0, I would have immediately stopped playing. The story is bad, the non existent climax is bad, the pacing is bad, the combat is meh, especially with Majima and the escort missions can go to hell and therefore 0 will forever be the worst Yakuza game - besides Judgment. And no, this is no joke.
@@adrenaliner91 bait used to be better
@@deatheater6222 what?
The only thing that annoys me is the cat.
Bruh the squeezing past the sofa and closet in Yagami’s office is just an animation from Yakuza 6 when you go through tight Spaces, it wasn’t made for this game. Also What the fuck is the problem with this game?? I clicked on this video to see an answer, and all i heard were praise, except for the parts i already knew were bad.
lol
sued ya 2:49
Hahahaha you got my ass.
The problem with Judgment? It exists. It is boring af compared to any other RGG game. Even the Original Yakuza. It looks kinda good, has good animations but the combat is not good and the other gameplay mechanics are just annoying af. It is almost as bad as 0's escort missions (can somebody patch that shit out of 0 please?).
Yakuza Kiwami is beyond boring dude. Try Yakuza 0, that's their best work yet.
not really
Nah Yakuza Kiwami is peak. So is Judgment
Kiwami is the best starting point and 0 can be skipped.
You play kiwami for combat 0 for story
@@sashapinesnguyenhienhoa8003 what? If 0 has any reason to Play with it's the world building. Not the boring ass story with no real climax
