The park in San Diego was missile park that you were trying to remember. That’s the best interview with Geoff I’ve ever seen. I remember we were skating San Dieguito 10 rail & Geoff Rowley rolled up with Jamie Thomas, Andrew Reynolds, Brian Sumner, & Atiba. We all sessioned that rail together for an hour. It’s one of my favorite skateboard memories from the 90’s in SD. P.S. Sturt would be a great guest.
I was at Tampa pro one year Geoff was skating the park down the street I got to shake his hand and do a back to back rail trick with him made my freaking life for sure he is a genuine guy

I used his name one time as a child getting out of trouble with the police and I got away with it. Somehow, I'll never forget using Geoff rowley as my alias haha 😂
As someone from the uk growing up seeing so many American skaters being the faces of the sport, having Geoff to relate to was awesome, always got his flip boards, legend
That's just hit my top 3. In no particular order The Chin Ramp episode because of how much fun it looked and those inch perfect inverts. Heath episode for Heath just being himself. And this one. Rowley is so hardcore. He has got to be one of the most consistently gnarly pro's ever. The slams he's taken. Legendary tricks. And still 100% skate. I used to skate all the old London spots back in the late 80's and Wurzel and Mac from Death Box would be there. They were the spark that lit the Flip fuse. The rest is some serious history.
I met Geoff at the Vans shop in Belmont Shore when i was buying his "Built Strong" hat with my daughter. He was one of the nicest most humble skate pros. Legend!

Oh man! I remember when the first Tony Hawk Pro Skater came out it was awesome. I know there were a couple half-butt skate games before it. But I remember getting pumped to go skate by playing. Came back home played THPS. And then went back out with my buddies to skate more. We had mini ramp. 2 kicker ramps. a quarter pipe and a nice 10 foot box 14 inch high. If we weren't around the neighborhood skating we were downtown or at the schools and churches nearby for the stairs and rails Best years of my life
I found Geoff talking about head placement/posture during tricks super interesting especially since hearing Chris Coles tips for crooks and where to place ur head for them I nvr thought of that factor myself but I guess that's why Geoff n Chris are on a different level 😅

An aggressive manny is when you are going in to a steep ramp. The kind where you have to start falling in well before the end of the manual. You can get real aggressive to get a hard pump out out of em. Also so sick! Geoff was my first favorite skater!

I probably would not skate without the video games so thanks everybody! Started skateboarding in the Christmas of 2000 in the basement because THPS2 stoked me so much. Had to skate there 4 months until the snow had melted outside.
I'm from near Liverpool and playing THPS2 was my first introduction to skateboarding, so Geoff Rowley has been that guy over the years. Legend, even if he is a scouser.
People do not understand just how talented and dedicated you have to be to rise in skateboarding when you come from the UK. Rowley, emerging out of England, ascending to the peaks of all of skateboarding is extra impressive. Having sampled the Scottish terrain and parks, I now know that skaters from the British Isles/Ireland are about as tough as they come. The pavement is beat by the rain and weather, and there isn't a smooth surface ot be found, so the whole place is one big death zone. The culture doesn't really support skateboarding that much because we'd rather be in the pub drinking. It's so funny to hear him talk about how he couldn't figure out the concrete in California when just one tiny spill in the UK will tear you up and probably leave you scarred. I would've liked to hear about how he got into photographing elusive mountain goats, did the Rowley dark slide come about on accident or was he trying to do it, and was it just raw talent that made him so good or did he have to work hard. I like the idea of an aggressive manual. The arm wrestling in the middle of the interview--men are so weird, but life just ain't as fun without them. So, wrestle on.
Sounds like Jason went to the Lower East Side Skatepark in NYC. Supposedly Tony did a Rock N Roll on the wall ride in that park. In the Rad Board video review of the park Vincent Basille says it.
