Hey there! I'm currently using this guide to learn how to play Kenshi. I started out by learning to do the combo starting at 9:46, and it took me a really long time to be able to do it consistently. I wanted to write some of the problems I faced as a beginning Kenshi player and how I solved it. I will mention I am on leverless. The combo starts with a f2-2/1-4 into freeze. Then it's Sento 1 into dash 4-2 into Sento 3. The first big challenge was to get the timing of the part after the freeze consistent. You need to input the 4 straight after the dash or it will not link, and you need a tiny pause between 4-2 and Sento 3, or Sento will not have fully recovered from his 1 yet. This pause can't be too long or the combo will drop. The way I time this part is by looking for the "smear" that Kenshi's blade leaves behind when he does 4-2, pressing 3 when I see it. This means I pause enough to let Sento recover, but press it quick enough so that the combo still links. After the first sento 3 hits, you go dash into forward 2 into 4 db3. You want to catch the juggle with your forward 2 as high as you can, as it takes a long time for Kenshi to recover and by the time the game will stop eating your 4 input, your opponent will already be on the ground. By the time you start inputting 4-db3, Sento will have recovered so you will need to hold the kameo button to prevent him from copying your 4 or 3 input. This was awkward for me at first but I got better with practice. The hardest part for me was to get the second Sento 3 after db3 to connect. Fabz mentions walking Sento, and that does really help consistency, but he does not elaborate on how to do this properly and I really struggled with it. For me the breakthrough was to use negative edge. After db3 I do *not* release 3, but instead let go of the cameo button while switching to a forward input, and then let go of 3 a moment later. It's still fiddly to know exactly when to let go, and I struggled a lot holding back after the db3 input and having Sento walk backward instead, but with negative edge meaning you can just hold 3 and not worry about pressing it again helped a lot to make this more managable. This was by far the hardest part for me though. Lastly, after the second Sento 3 connects, you dash under and do 4-2 into Sento 2 into f4. It works out that Sento will only start moving after 4-2, so you don't need to worry about holding the kameo button. Since Sento 2 takes ages and is easy to react to, the most consistent quickest way to do this I found is to just press 4 and then spam 2 like a motherfucker, and once you see Sento catch your opponent in the air, you input forward 4. This feels messy but is extremely consistent for me, and it's the only part of the combo where I "spam" instead very conciously timing buttons. I hope this is helpful to those people who are less naturally gifted at fighting games like me! It took me hours to pull off this combo even once, so don't sweat it if it's hard. Despite struggling for days in the lab, I can now do this consistently multiple times in a row. If I figure out other stuff I might post it, provided people find this comment helpful. Thank you for the awesome guide Fabz!
This man is not only the Goat he is also always so helpful and so kind to take time out of his day to teach the common man anytime they may have a question. Truly been a blessing to have met him.
I watched tigerz video and he had all the big boy combos and stuff but i like how you went in depth about optimal sento bar combos and also the 50 50 mixup option selects Great informative video man
What I would like to see, and I’ve looked everywhere and have even tried doing it my self. Is finding the most optimal of optimal combos, for landing low starter and overhead starter (with sento) in neutral (both on same side), sandwich and corner. All with no meter. So in total, you will have 6 combos of kenshi. And when I say optimal I mean optimal, mean the HIGHEST known dmg combo for each scenario.
Well, im sure there are higher damage routes! But in this scenario I dont consider them optimal because they take too much of your sento meter and put you in a bad position after. I just go for a mix of good damage and good timer
I just started playing MK a few months ago and as a quick learner doing all of Kenshis combos were light work. I didn't know why everyone said he was so hard until i got to that throw combo with Cyrax... I'm seriously considering dropping him cause that combo is so insanely difficult for me 😭🙏
If 6Arakin wants to be a Pro Kenshi, he should’ve watched a tutorial video about this video of how to master Kenshi and also play other Characters as well 🙃 Great tutorial btw
Yeah as in if you always start with meaty Sento 2 negative edge, or what are my options in general. And when I said mix timings I mostly meant how to hide my mix in a block sequence, and go to block sequences with mix timing options, Again thank you so much for answering, such a helpful guide.@@Fabzz
@@floydieistakenso I usually go for sento 2 meaty from a negative edge straight into b1 db3. If they mash they get launched, so you combo with sento 1. If they block they are in blockstun and you pressure with sento 4, then right before the last hit of sento 4 you do S1. Then you can mix safely! Basically loop that situation in the sandwhich!! You can also dash and then block after sento 2! If they armor you block, if they respect you can mix!
Hey Fabz, i was wondering if you could give us one day a kenshi/mavado guide, i mean, this video is pure gold, and i want to try something diferrent but whit mavado im dropping all the important combos, and i just can`t find help out there, i actually learn zubzero thx to you. just if you can.
So bro I was playing subzero with kenshi and I was having such success in KL doing things like 1exDemonDrop or 14exDemonDrop which would get casuals but then I played Waz and realized that all those gimmicks are basically FAKE tech. Since that game I realized just how important it is to be able to pull sento on block and have a throw combo. Against higher level players those things are so important and have pretty much switched from sub to exclusively cyrax! This guide is S-tier especially if ur trying to make the switch from pretty good to really good. Still having trouble with the mid-screen amped throw combo but I’ll get it. Also is there any place I can get all things Kenshi…like a Kenshi discord or twitter or something? Plz lemme kno! 💪
The guide is great, lots of useful information, thanks! Maybe you can structure it more from the ez stuff to harder stuff. Cause sometimes you show the optimal and only then ez version.
Hi fabs I just started learning kenshi he’s defo got a real learning curve what’s is kenshi best anti air in your opinion I’ve started negative edging sento as opposed to timing button pushes defo helping me in execution I still stuck at sandwich combos tho and need get better at jailing
Hey bro. Thanks for video, best on YT for Kenshi I guess. What can I do when my opponent just brake my combo right when I activate my sento so I stand with no zoning at full range. Or even I just press with sento stance so Idk what to do in situations like this…
Very informative and in depth! Thanks for taking the time out to go through all this. You mentioned a few sandwich infinite inputs where nobody can armour through, however ashrah and havik have the most challenging armoured moves in the game. Could you do a video demonstrating those infinite pressure points on these two characters armoured moves? Particularly Ashrahs armour dash move as it can break through 3-4 hits and is super fast so she always seems to get away in my experience. Would really appreciate this! +1 sub from me.
great guide. im really struggling with the cyrax throw combo into sento. i can get cyrax to hit the opponent 1 out of like 40 times. its timing is hard to get down it seems
If u use Kenshi’s other kick, x on ps5 and press cyrax at the same time it works more often just does but less damage U also have to be right next to them and dash up after rising karma
How do you get the combo controls in your head. The holding R1 then R2 then R1 in the same combo and trying to learn the timing to hold each is whats F-ing me Up. I'm a Sub Zero and Kitana Main and previously used: Sindel, Geras, Mileena, and Reptile but i really like Kenshi. I understand Kenshi has counters but seems like the most difficult character to master followed by Shang, Geras and Sindel. I like complex chars because there's always something new, more depth and creativity. Just help a brother out who's struggling to learn the controlling Sento then Kenshi at different times during same combo. Also isnt Cyrax bomb like +81 on block, if so that should also work as free Sento on wakeup meaty if you conditioned to break armor with Bomb+Button into Sento call out? Not sure just asking!
Okay im not sure what questions to answer first but in general, to make execution easier you have to learn the timings between sento’s attack recovery and kenshi’s attack recovery so that you dont have to hold R1 and stuff. Also using negative edge to help with the execution!
12:10 you can save generetion with this combo,, how to freeze then jump over him and attack only with sento 1 or 2?? i always in jump attack as kenshi and i just want to attack with sento then kenshi 4 2

I’m having a bit of trouble doing the Kenshi summon on block in the corner with Sub Zero, does it jail fully? I’m able to poke out of it with d1 of 7 frames
Ok so I had a question. I watched ninjakillas video and he was doing f4 or b2 into sento 1 s42 sento 3 jump 1 f4 sento 3 into jump 112 sento 2 f4 now I can do it easy up til that 112 that last hit always whiffs except like 3 times in a few hours of practice lol any tips?
Is it still possible to call Sento on block with sub zero and jail? I can't seem to be able to do it. I do 141 cameo + forward cameo really fast and then db1. But if I do it really fast the Sub cold shoulder doesn't come out because the Sento call cancels it. And if I wait for the cold shoulder to come out first, then Sento doesn't come out because it's too late to cancel into it
Nvm I managed to do it by changing the input order. I do ice armor then call sento then spam forward cameo and I think that works. It's not the same order you did the inputs but it's the only way I can get it to work 🤷🏻♂️
Yo What should I be doing from a overhead mid screen landing it I always land it after using cyrax into sento on block but I do a trash combo you could just tell me the number inputs or whatever I know them I watched the guide a few times but I can’t find that specific combo
