Hi Julianna! Correct, the First Cello part in the arrangement is what I am playing in the video. The rest of the cellos I recorded beforehand and then played first cello on the camera. I put an asterisk on the arrangement where I think one can improvise a little, hence my slow slide between two notes in one bar at one specific place. But that exact slide is not notated for example. But the rest of the arrangement is basically 99% of what first cello is playing @@juliannatemple-roberts4012
I agree, this is an interesting performance, opening the work in a new way) The books say that Satie was mischievous and witty, the Dr. House of his time, who knows what an extravagant composer would say...
Cello has to be one of the most beautiful instruments ever made. It's deep, it's somber, it can be delicate as easily as it can be heavy. It's so versatile.
I'll be honest , listening to this, sitting alone , in a cheerful area , drinking something so cold, with the closed eyes is very nice and refreshing 👌

Gnossienne No. 1 is one of my favorite pieces of all time, and this is easily one of my favorite renditions of it. You captured it's haunting melancholy perfectly, Maestro Satie would be proud!
I never imagined there would be a cello rendition of this piece, let alone that it would become my favorite! It's amazing how the cello adds a whole new dimension to it. Absolute masterpiece! Just discovered it on Spotify too, Keep going:)
This is absolutely beautiful. I love the cello and the original is one of my most favourite piano pieces and you have kept the aching melancholy of the original and added something by giving voice to it on the cello. I can't exactly describe what I mean but I know I love it.
Awesome version for cello of this beautiful piece of Satie and your performance is absolutely delightful my dear Schrello. It's always a pleasure to see you and listen to your music. Thanks for sharing!
First of all thanks Schrello. With all these covers of Gnossienne No. 1 on YT I've noticed one thing which is I feel a lot of musicians tend to "hurry" a bit with the timing. i've listened to this by decreasing the playback speed to 0.75
