Osella is by far the worst of the two. Forti Corse I can understand what they were trying to do, but they just failed the execution. Osella's looks like one of the stickers you find on fruit at the shops.
definitely not product placement, I just happened to be holding a can of my favourite refreshing energy drink, Rich Energy, the delicious taste really keeps me motivated!
McLaren swoosh is classic because it's as simple as Nike swoosh, but more importantly it ties with their road car head lamp design. The balls you have to posses to have your company logo and key vehicle design feature to be the same
I do agree it looks like a fruit company logo but I WILL NOT stand for any banana slander! I love bananas, it's all I eat. 9 bananas a day. My doctor says I have weeks to live
When I see the current McLaren logo, I see a kiwi (the bird, not the fruit!). The kiwi was on their logo from the beginning, and was restyled into the Marlboro version. So the swoosh, I would argue, is a logical evolution of the original logo, and the Marlboro version was a sidestep from that process, rather than the origin.
9:57 HRT's is worse than Hispania?! Not trying to insult the Wipeout game franchise, but at least in a Wipeoutlike-futuristic-racer-clone, that HRT logo would look great honestly. And I think it's quite interesting in real life as well. Am I the only one who likes it?
That Arrows logo is the worst; I at least like how stupidly bad the top two are (Osella definitely worse though). But two fonts, unintelligible graphics art and no sense of symmetry makes Arrows bottom of the pile for me. Also, the Benetton logo you showed has a special place in my F1 heart. So liveriable. Hated the plain light blue they ended up with in the early 00s
That Forti logo looks like you booted up Gran Turismo 2000 and you started a career mode and you can't tell if that's a real team or a generic one that they didn't get the license for.
counter argument... the swoosh of mclarens is originated from the Kiwi head they have had since the beginning in f1. Also if you look closely mclaren still has the kiwi head on their DRS activator, or also on other motorsport series. They always have it hidden somewhere on their cars.
I would like to add Racing Point in the conversation. I don't know if there was anything else to the teamlogo, but always having that strange point on the side on the TV Graphics looked awful.
I love that when you said "Thank you for coming to my TED Talk" it was almost exactly the official length the Maximum TED Talk length can be, 18 Minutes.
Id love to see a part 2 of this from the 50s to 90s, see if the amount of teams and logos from the past might change or reaffirm your thoughts on these ones. Also Osella has to be the worst. Its definitely the lemon-lime circle that just ruins the whole thing. Why oh why
love it how you just come up with some out-of-the-box video ideas and make it so bloody entertaining Oh and Osella is definitely responsible for a spike in brain tumors between 1980 and 1990
call me a psycopath but the Forti logo looks quite good in my opinon. I perfectly captured the 90s. osella though.. goodness me where does one even begin with
One pass through a ln actual designer and that logo would be infinitely better. The strike in the letter F is too high and the said Italian logo strike is too wide. Italics don't help too much. It is very close to being a bit good logo
Another great video, Osella was the worst, Forti Corse attempted a ferrari and De Tomaso like emblem as they have on the nose of the car I would love to see a video (lot of work again I think 😬) about drivers incidents and crashes, DNF’s statistics, I think it will have a lot of surprises
@@MrVsGarage the K itself is fine. It's just the Osella problem: too many unnecessary circles. It's on a black background with a thin neon green outline. If it was just the K with the Sauber text underneath, but scaled up slightly, it's be a perfectly fine logo
God, I miss the days when TH-cam didn't measure the success of a channel by watchtime. Like alchemy, the runtime-over-brevity algorithm transforms clicking on an otherwise interesting topic into the feeling of being trapped in a conversation with a pub bore.
Coloni had a really aesthetically pleasing logo, its not too big, but it's big enough. You could slap it on clothing, you can slap it on a car, and it will look good. You could change the yellow with another warm color and it would look good. Kinda wish they kept the original logo throughout their tenure in F1. The Subaru Coloni logo was atrocious and the more modern ones aren't bad but just don't have the same feel as the original.
Thought I'd drop a comment to say I'm going against the crowd on this one. Osella has good design surrounded by bad choices. Forti Corse is just bad, the f is positioned poorly, the colours look like a spread sheet, they can't even make a flag look interesting. People say that at least Forti Corse had a design they were going for, but if you manage to fuck up an f and a flag, you shouldn't get pity points, it's that basic.
Osella's logo makes it look like a low budget supermarket chain, so they get my vote. Also, Early Microsoft Word-core is bang-on because that Arrows logo definitely looks like something I would've put in my 5th grade report on Super Mario.
I actually always thought the Lotus guitar pick was kinda cool. I always thought of that shape as a guitar pick and somehow never put 2 and 2 together that it was borrowed from THE Lotus logo. The Andrea Moda one wasn't so much a logo as it was a script, but I like it too. EuroBrun looks like if Burger King decided to throw back all the way to their original logo from 1953 that most people today wouldn't even recognize, but still incorporate their current color palette. Osella is like if Edsel had a Formula 1 team. Mr. V's squashed version is basically the Oregon Ducks O, but blockier.
I'd 100% take the Osella and Forti Corse logos over that Williams one. They're childish but at least somewhat entertaining to look at. That Williams one evokes nothing, except pure boredom. It's the most bland, uninspired design ever. It's like somebody annihilated any form of emotion on this planet. It should be treated like a crime against humanity. Edit: Also better than Eurobrun. Like seriously what the hell was that?
i think you overlooked that the VR virgin racing logo was meant to look like a race track. i do agree with the "why is there 3 LOGOS on this 1 logo" but yeah idk, i think it deserves at least some points for creativity of blending VR with racetrack map shape font lol
to be honest,... I actually really like the Forti corse logo. It should be on the other end of the scale. the worst logo in my humble opinion is the current McLaren swoosh or maybe the Euro Brun Racing logo.
the Eurobrun racing looks like something from the 70s, when everybody was using warm, yet kinda muted colors. Stuff like Brown, Red, Yellow, Orange, Tan, etc. Shame it came from the 1990s. Also, Osella.
10:29 ANDREA MODA worst of all time to me. I'm not saying it's ugly for an F1 team, I'm saying it would be ugly for a low-end garbage fast fashion brand
I think Osella is the worse logo of the two. The Forti logo is an imo interesting idea executed terribly, Osella's logo is a boring idea executed terribly. In case you want to be more disappointed with HRT (as in Hispania Racing Team), both logos shown in this video are worse than the logo of Mercedes affiliated GT3 team Haupt Racing Team (which in itself has room for improvement). That's right, they can't even claim "best logo of a team called HRT"
Lets not forget that the pre-Liberty F1 logo itself wasn't amazing. Most people never realised the 1 in the F1 logo was in the blank space in the middle of the logo, not the in the red streaks coming off the back of the logo.
Osella is the worse for me by a country mile. why does it have two seperate background sections, just remove one and it's less shit. The forti corse logo sucks less because there's potential for a good logo there if they just didn't do what they did. just a big F with forti corse across the middle line. still even with the green white and red. or even just Have an F1 in the style the F is in now with the middle of the F saying forti and the bottom of the 1 saying corse AHHHHH. god they had actual potential for something there for a not shit logo and somehow made the worst descisions for it all in the end. This video has brought me large amounts of mental anguish. Thank you :(
Osella is by far the worst of the two. Forti Corse I can understand what they were trying to do, but they just failed the execution. Osella's looks like one of the stickers you find on fruit at the shops.
My first thought when I saw it was it was elongated for use on the car and as it sped by people would see it shrunk down.
Osella logo looks like someone is giving you a finger if you squint.
