Got into both bands at the same time. Both two of my favorite bands now. I liked immolation better at first. Incantation took a little more time, but once their albums had a chance to sink in, they became my favorite death metal album ever. Both sensational death metal bands though, and both still putting out killer material. Diabolical Conquest is the best Death Metal ever written in my opinion.
Honestly a hard choice given that I absolutely love Onward To Golgotha (Incantation) and Closer To A World Below (Immolation) but I’ll probably go for Immolation because they have such a badass sound to them.

Immolation vs Incantation is very very tough. I love both so no shade towards the band that loses. Dawn of Possession vs Onward to Golgotha: Incantation Mortal Throne of Nazarene vs Here in After: Incantation Diabolical Conquest vs Failures for Gods: Incantation Infernal Storm vs Close to a World Below: Immolation Blasphemy vs Unholy Cult: Immolation Harnessing Ruin vs Decimate Christendom: Immolation Shadows in the Light vs Primordial Domination: Incantation Majesty and Decay vs Vanquish in Vengeance: Immolation Dirges of Elysium vs Kingdom of Conspiracy: Immolation Profane Nexus vs Atonement: Immolation Acts of God vs Sect of Vile Divinities: Immolation Immolation wins this for me but they were not easy decisions to choose between. Incantation still has a fantastic Discog.
Immolation. Pleased to hear you praise my favorite; Shadows in the Light. A lot of people hate on that one for some unknown reason. They have great EPs too; Hope and Horror, and Providence.
Incantation all the way for me! Their sound and lyrics have just been inspiring for me for when I started playing music and eventually several bands playing bass in. Incantation are absolute legends!🤘
Immolation is a good band but I just love the Incantation sound. so many death/black bands have been inspired by their sound. much more influential in the scene than Immolation if you ask me.
First couple of albums Incantation takes the cake no questions asked! later on both of them are not that solid but Immolation for sure beats those lousy album...
"Mortal Throne os Nazarene" is simple the peak of Death-Doom. Immolation is a very consistent band, the leader of New York Death Metal scene. Cannot compare these two. Different styles.
Pretty easy one for me. Immolation all the way - consistency and longevity. They're simply incapable of making bad or substandard music. Incantation's Onward To Golgotha is indeed the better of the two debut DM albums.
The production is great especially on their latest single. You obviously don't listen to incantation very much if you think all their music sounds the same.
Cool idea for a video...I love both bands, but easily Immolation for me also. Way more consistent, pretty much a flawless discography.

Spot on for later Immolation. Atonement and Acts of God are spinning here weekly. Also saw them in November and they were incredible live.

Incantation has more atmosphere. Too many bands rely on the same death metal sound. Incantation is more heavier and impressive live too

Immolation hands down Incantation sucks. Every song and album sound the same. And there production is awful. Immolation slaps
my main problems with incantation are that their doom sections are monotonous (even by doom standards) and they put guitar solos too low in the mix
