Caleb hasnt score a TD in a month. Hes soo good.
The two TDs were created by the Team not Caleb.
Hes getting carried by the team all year takes no responsibility and suddenly when hes willing listen to the OC the offense functions.
Talent doesnt equal greatness, thats execution and he hasnt been doing much of it. He misses reads for anticipation throws constantly and looks like a less athletic more pocket elusive fields.
I really hope he develops into someone better instead of every week shaming someone other than Caleb.
Cutler had games where he lead offense to scoring in the high 30's but he was at fault for throwing a late pick bc he wasnt perfect. They didnt blame the Def for being trash and letting up 40.
Bears def this year averaging like 19pts a game and they score around the same.
his average release went from almost 3 seconds all year to under 2.3s against green bay. not surprisingly he didnt get sacked as much.
I have no problem firing the OC he didnt listen to at all and give him someone hes willing to communicate with but stop sheilding a guy whos been bad more than he hasnt.
He hasnt even outplayed Trubisky yet though i assume he will get there once he pulls his head out of his a$$.

I’ve watched enough Justin vs Packers defense in the past and Justin never looked liked this vs GB, at least from a pocket passer perspective.
Too many times GB would deploy zone like in the 1st and 2nd meetings of last year vs GB and he couldn’t process what they were doing.
At least with Caleb, it looked like the moment wasn’t too big for him, and he’s still a rookie. That gives me some encouragement moving forward.

@@og-vise Those folks just want to shit on Caleb and not think about the fact that keeping Fields would have meant paying to extend him. Like I keep bringing this argument every time when folks keep bringing him up: if Fields was THAT much better (and he hypothetically would be since he's got 3 years of experience) he SHOULD be starting in front of Wilson.
However, he isn't and the Steelers are still winning and won against a division rival for the top seed with Wilson at the helm.
It's not that I even hate Justin, I loved him as player and as a dude outside of football but he isn't that guy. Part of it was the Bears could not develop him properly due to being in between regimes and he got picked by the previous GM and the team was essentially in transition. His talent alone wasn't enough to keep him with the team.
Bears had the top pick so obviously better to drage a really good but potentially great QB under a rookie contract instead of having to spend for a QB who you know what their ceiling is at that point.

Watch out. They should fire Flus NOW and let Thomas Brown finish out the year. At least Brown won't stunt Caleb and/or take away what should have been game winning drives.. Excited (sadly not this year) for the future with Caleb, Moore, Kmet, Odunze & co.

    So couple comments after watching.
With the Keenan play that got a no grade, I don’t mind the risk. Gave it a good ball, and put trust in Keenan against a LB
With the scramble throw on 3&19, I did enjoy it a lot that after he ducked the one rusher, he looked behind him to see where the other rusher was
Finally, with the out to Keenan to set up the FG, I also liked that he noticed the blitz and set up the 7 man protection.
Good game from Caleb, one loss closer to eberflus gone (especially with always conservative calls)

Most of this stuff is Waldron’s but the coaching behind it is amazing. Screens on the short side, plays lined up ready to go, making the plays look alike, and building up rather than just throwing plays out there. The build up to play actions and deeps balls. The quicks to kmet. Swift on first and second. Rojo on short yards. TRUSTING your young quarterback. I don’t know what we plan to do with with Coach TB but he’s worked wonders.

Caleb Williams isn't t he problem. Fields wasn't the problem. Hell, Trubisky wasn't the problem. The problem is the Bears organization. After all these years, they still have no clue how to develop a qb. And you would think that they would follow what there hated rivals figured out. Green Bay had two hall famers back to back. And Love is beginning his career looking good. Although he's been struggling lately. But Rodgers sat behind Favre and learned. Love sat behind Rodgers and learned. I remember a time when it was damn near illegal to have a rookie qb start in his first season. The entire O-line were drafted as run blockers. They don't have the personnel to do the things that they are trying to do. And that's on coaches. You have to call plays to the strength of your personnel. Williams has been sacked way too often. That will ruin a qb very quick. He's young. If you can't trust your o-line you get ansy. That's why he overthrown wide open recievers down field. I think he's doing great with the situation he walked into. Ot doesnt matter how good your recievers are if you dont have have time to get them the ball. Some of the throws he's making are elite. He put the Bears in position to beat Green Bay by himself. If this kid ever actually gets time he's gonna be unstoppable. But knowing the Bears history at that position, I have no reason to be optimistic that they will develop him. I'm a Bears fan. But I'm 44. I've seen this movie way too many times. I know how it ends

I like the throw to Keenan on the deep over. Watching it from the tight, I think he needed to anticipate that a half second sooner. May not have changed the outcome, but I would like to see the timing and anticipation in that throw vs seeing it first and then throwing. Of course the safe play would be to check it down and pick up 6-7 yards. I don't blame him for taking that shot to Keenan.

on that Keenan Allen "risk reward" pass - my issue with that is his footwork. Caleb loves to shuffle feet and then sling a throw, when he doesn't need to. It was really nice placement - but had he actually planted and stepped into that throw, might have been a different outcome.

12:21 I like the risk reward and think it’s a good ball. Put it where his receiver gets it or no one does.

I am convinced that in a parallel universe where we do decide to run another play before the kick, that it also turns out poorly because that's just how it goes with them.

It's promising, but it was a new OC. Seems like it usually takes a few weeks for defenses to adjust to new tendencies with play calling. If we can continue to look like this the rest of the year and next year we may sneak into a wildcard in the next 3 to 5 years.

The side arm throw to Keenan Allen that you didn't like had a defender with his back turned right before Caleb threw it. Problem is that Allen is 85% of what he used to be. Can't create separation on routes longer than 10 yards!

12:30 I don’t hate this decision… it ends up being a pretty nice and very catchable ball (obviously I’m not blaming Keenan, that’s still a tough catch). Especially the past few weeks we’ve seen Caleb look way too timid. As an nfl qb, sometimes you need to take the high risk throws, and honestly it’s pretty refreshing to see him finally looking comfortable enough to go for those again. If he can execute (and we know he can) it’s not a bad decision imo.

16:45 Caught my eye: Roschon picks up the block, then squeaks out. What's the grade on this? He's keeping his hands in and low, almost setting up for a release to give Caleb an outlet. Or am I just seeing the result of a mismatch? Either way, nice to see the big back being used. Thanks for helping me learn!
