    I've never used the wireless charging on my phone in over 2 years. I don't think it's a huge issue for most users to be fair, especially when you have a phone that charges so quickly AND has a good battery. When you really think about it, those two factors would make wireless charging unnecessary most of the time.

      They need to complain about samsung/ apple taking out chargers, cords, qhd screens from $1,000 phones...
      If Apple/ Samsung had 100 watt charging, these folks would need a new pair of draws...

    I love my OP 7T PRO 5G McLaren. Like mentioned in previous comments, the lack of support for it is what's frustrating. IMO, it's still a great capable phone... However, the last OS update has really downgraded its operations in many ways. I've been putting up with it until yesterday. Yesterday I bought this OP 11 5G direct from OnePlus since they gave such a huge Trade in / buy back & rebate, not to mention that my carrier didn't even offer the 11... I'm looking forward to owning this one and extremely happy to hear about the 4 year support. I tend to keep the things I buy for long periods of time, like my cars, computers, & phones. Quality, Maintenance, & Longevity are very important to me when it comes to purchasing pricey items...

    Just got my One Plus 11 a few days ago and I like the phone a lot. Battery life, speedy performance and web browsing matter to me. I used to think that wireless charging mattered but I don't use it much and honestly who needs it after using SuperVOOC charging which gets the phone from 0-100% in 25 minutes. I used the One Plus 6T for a while and I loved using that phone. The 10Pro gave me issues with reception and connectivity. However the One Plus 11 has been enjoyable for me to use. What I learned with phones is that no phone is perfect and they all have shortcomings. Once people realize that then they won't be so hard on certain cell phones.

    I bought it. Previously had the 6T and some prior models. Wireless charging is not important to me, the battery lasts about 2 days and can be charged very quickly compared to other phones and wireless charging is slow as a turtle crawling. Charging with this is fast like Usain Bolt in comparison to other phones. Selfies are not my thing either so any alleged shortcomings you mentioned were not negatives for me. I really like the phone and am pleased with my purchase.

    I love the fact that he does these extended performance tests. With that in mind, I'm gonna nerd out for a sec.
    I'm really surprised the 10 Pro from last year got 88.3% stability in Wildlife Extreme, and the 10T with the plus variant getting 95.3 is mind blowing. The three regular 8 Gen 1 Samsungs I've tested are lucky to get over 65%.
    Also, the 8 Gen 2 is obviously much faster, but with everything that's been said about its improved heat management, you would've thought it'd do better than the regular 8 Gen 1, at least.
    With all that said, the 8 Gen 2 is insanely fast. The CPU matches my high end four year old laptop in some CPU benchmarks, which is nuts.
    Alright, that's all I got for now. Peace ✌️

    After using my 7T Pro till the end of software support, I'm tempted, yes. The 4 years update promise (and the alert slider) makes this way better option than the Zenfone 9, which I was also considering earlier.
    However, in Finland the pricing is really awful. 880€ for the base model and 950€ for the 256 GB model is a lot.
    Performance wise, my old 7T Pro is still good and snappy so any new phone should be fine, so I don't even fully understand why all the performance comparisons for phones, as we've got computers for all the number crunching or gaming needs.

    • @jphzazueta
      @jphzazueta ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@Nothing-kr5hn same with the 7 Pro. My God it's still doing wonders for me. Almost 4 years with this phone and I'm still in love with it. My only two big complains at the moment are the cameras, which were just good if not only ok when it came out, and the degraded battery life, which is obviously expected for such an old phone. Other than that, the performance is still solid, and I absolutely love the uninterrupted display. I was looking at the Pixel 7 Pro, a few months ago, and this new OP 11 looks really good too (I just wish it had wireless charging), but I'm probably going to stick with my current phone for about another year, or at least until later this year, when the Pixel 8 comes out. My only worry with Pixel phones is the Tensor processor, which I want to make sure manages to age properly, before buying one and be sick of the performance after a couple of years. Tbh, I never expected to last so long with a phone, and be so happy with it still, so if OnePlus actually manages to deliver phones like a few years ago, I'll definitely consider getting a new one

    • @simptrix007
      @simptrix007 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      As user who upgraded from 7T Pro I can tell you the phone is great but you are going to miss old UI. Screen is less curved and feels better to use. Most of the time you dont notice front camera and face unlock is nice feature that didnt make much sense with motorized camera. If you are able to get OnePlus Buds Pro 2 bundled even European price is fine (7T Pro launched for more!!!). I didnt have performance needs to upgrade but loose charging connector, Waze burn-in and need for more screen on time to handle my working day without extra charging made me go for it. The most impressive thing was migrating around 150GB of my data with OnePlus app in like 30 minutes wia Wi-Fi. If I replaced loose connector and changed battery I wouldnt need to upgrade for next like year or two TBH. If you pull the trigger your gains would feel minor except for the battery life (if you dont play games) because 7T Pro was and still is the great phone to use daily. If you have any question regarding OP 11 feel free to ask me.

I've had it for almost a year now and it's been a pleasure! Never had or used wireless charging so I don't have an issue not having that. However, the 100W charging is insanely quick! Really pleased with the phone which will last me for another 2-3 years.

    I like the way you reviewed this phone. I often think that comparing phones can be tricky. My favorite is always the telephoto lens. A phone is "better" if it has a longer lens. That statement makes little sense if you mostly take pictures of people and not far away things. As a learning opportunity look at your pictures on your phone. For most, it is of people. A 2-power lens is "better" for portraits, yet a 3.3 is valued higher. Not sure if that makes sense to everyone, but I like the way you look at a phone and the way it is used. Thank you.

    Great video, I've decided to order the OP 11 it's a great phone for the price despite some cut backs. But I don't mind because I don't use wires charging and the biggest win for me is the fast wired charging and the dual sim card tray. Which you can't find here in the U.S., it will be my travel phone when I Ieave for Asia. I don't like esim at all. It will give me a chance to use it, test it out and receive any updates before I leave. I just take pictures and I never shoot videos or take selfies. Would've been good if you had tested its purported faster Wifi connectivity. My OP6 does worse than other phones when connecting to Wifi and sometimes even to data, despite having the same ISP and being in the same space. That's more important than wireless charging etc. The most important things for me are Wifi and data connectivity, speed and stability, heat control, battery life and size (not too big). I just want a phone that won't fall out of my pocket or feel like it's on fire and drain to 50% when I use Google Maps for 30 minutes, and has pretty good download speeds with the average website.

  • @dr.fitprofessor1970

    It's actually not surprising that this phone does not have wireless charging. OnePlus is trying to get back to the days of being a flagship killer and that is obvious in the 11. By definition, flagship killers are all about speed, performance and overall function. To that end, they pair away gimmicky features like wireless charging and power share in favor of processing speed, memory and amazing charging technology. That is also why they have already announced that there will not be a pro model this year. Besides, who really cares about slow wireless charging when you can have 80 watt fast charging? In addition, I am very happy to see that they brought back dual SIM card ability in the United States variance this year. They haven't had dual SIM card ability since the eight series. Anyway, I just pre-ordered mine on Amazon today and I can't wait for it to be delivered on February the 20th.

      @@baoquoc3710 The OnePlus 11 doesn't have wireless charging 50 watts or otherwise. I don't know where you're getting that. Lol. Wireless charging is the biggest gimmick on the smartphone market. It is slow, inconvenient and utterly pointless. I can't imagine why anybody would want to wait hours for their phone to charge when they can get something like a OnePlus 11 with 80 watt fast charging and it's a done deal in about a half an hour.

    • @dr.fitprofessor1970
      @dr.fitprofessor1970 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    • @dr.fitprofessor1970
      @dr.fitprofessor1970 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@dilpazirahmad9112 I have no problem with OnePlus giving their phones water and dust protection. However, I like the idea that they don't want to pay for the IP68 certification. The cost of that raises the price of The phone by about $150. In all reality, OnePlus build every device with the equivalent of an IP68 rating. However, they don't pay for it and most people need to realize that. After all, flagship killers are all about power, build quality and offering it to the consumer at a much lower price than the competition. They are able to do that by not paying for certifications and loading down their phone with needless gimmicky features like wireless charging. Obviously, flagship killers are all about the needs of the superuser.👍

Besides a few bugs here and there it's still super snappy and the battery life is still very good. But I do everything on my phone, financials, alot of online purchases. So, I need the android security patches. Pretty sad that the reason alot of people upgrade is because manufacturers stop supporting devices. But that's just the way it is.
    I will say, wireless charging isn't important to me. It's inferior to cable charging in my eyes.
    Just like wireless buds, they took the headphone jack away. I guarantee in the future, their will be wireless charging only phones. That will be interesting. Hah

I just recently came across a deal on the OnePlus 11 brand new for only $390 at my local best buy only because the seal had been broken but nothing in the box had been touched. It was a deal I couldn't pass up.
    I have been impressed and I do believe OnePlus is back. The oneplus 12 is looking like it very well may be one of the best in 2024.
    Cheers

    Hi, nice review but the uncertainty you voice ahead of what other Phones may release would make me err to the side of caution and wait. Lack of Wireless charging is disappointing.
    Still hang onto my Xiaomi 12T which although also without wireless charging is in all other areas excellent and I've before Christmas decided to try out Samsung and bought the S21FE which although still getting to kn.w is very good. Keep up the good work.

    The hate this "wireless charging" argumentation. I would only use it while driving in a car which has it built in by factory or just using my old 25W Dash Charge Adapter for 12V, whats still a way better than Wireless Charging.
