    Imagine how out of touch this government is-offering a £10 salary increase while raising taxes by £15. How do they expect people to survive? The economy is truly in a dire state, and it feels like it’s gone for good.

    • @HarlowReign-r7r

      The most painful issue here is that the Labour Party had the authority to stand up against the Tories and their excessive taxes, but instead, they’ve now implemented even higher taxes themselves. They continue to lie to us, treating us like fools.

      Imagine having to relocate your family and business due to economic hardship, while the elderly pray to escape the impending crisis to avoid the burden of rising costs. If the government truly cares about the country, why can’t they just take the necessary funds from their own pockets to help alleviate this situation?

    • @WhitneyRoss-dj4rf
      @WhitneyRoss-dj4rf 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The UK government vows to protect and serve its citizens, yet they fail to allocate taxes for our benefit. I used a tax calculator to check my contributions, and I realize I would be better off without these so-called taxes. It’s clear I need to get a financial advisor to help me optimize my income and finances because this government is filled with failed fools.

    • @WhitneyRoss-dj4rf
      @WhitneyRoss-dj4rf 23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Can you please share who you’re working with? I’ve been considering working with a good financial advisor,because this isn’t the highest tax rate the UK FFS has ever seen. It’s incredibly frustrating

    • @AshleyKeith-vw7ws
      @AshleyKeith-vw7ws 23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      What a failed society we live in. How much are the rich really paying, while so many large companies continue to avoid taxes? Increased taxes are just another way for politicians to secure a pay rise. Can’t they stop sending money to other countries? It seems so simple at this point. I really need a financial advisor myself, and I’m going to check out Kate Elizabeth Cressotti. This government is truly heartbreaking.

    I lived in Finland for 10 years and paid a ‘progressive tax’ rate. The difference is, everything worked and everyone knew where the money was going due to their transparency laws. I am now paying the same ‘progressive tax’ rate in the UK but nothing works and I have no idea where the money is going! Just lots of corruption and bad management.

      The extra revenue is going to try and eventually achieve a system like yours after years of neglect. The actuality is,in the future ,the Tories will return to power with policies that reverse any gains that may have been made. Until that perpetual problem is solved the UK is doomed. A PR election system would stop such violent swings of ideology that hinder the country.

      Then why are the Tories criticising Labour's budget? If they were the same they would be congratulating Labour, also they would have presented similar budgets themselves instead of introducing austerity, taking us out of the EU and generally crashing the economy... killing people during Covid, putting more kids into poverty, causing more people to rely on food banks than ever, forcing the NHS to its knees, allowing schools to crumble, stopping HS2, presiding over the highest levels of inflation for decades and giving us the highest tax burden ever... amongst many, many other things.

Given we have a debt at least 100% ( with off balance sheet liability perhaps 25% more) I would hope JMK would agree with me

      @SlowhandGreg this is basic economics - markets with more money to spend as well as less time focusing on what strict amd arbitrary regulations to follow allow for more investment and time and energy focused on growth and leisure. The pattern in history is that the most kleptocratic and overregulated economies were the poorest and most underperforming countries.
      People like you ask "why didnt X party invest more?" I take issue with the premise underneath this statement that presumes it is the job of the state to invest.

    Also, this year the British government sent £12.8 billion to ukraine, and has spent £13.3 billion this year on foreign aid.
    In total, this is a staggering £29 billion.
    This isn't mentioning them shutting down all coal plants, even though most carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies capture 90% of the carbon dioxide emissions. The transition to net zero will cost £38.5 billion to £76.9 billion per year.

      Because it's a train that doesn't go to London and doesn't go to Birmingham
      Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle all need extra rail capacity to move intercity rail off the current line so they can increase local rail traffic which is currently rammed.
