That shave really was over in a flash. I don't have experience with MMGP, but I am very familiar with that scent, as I have a clone of the EDP and Haverford from Stirling, and I absolutely love it. Wishing you and your mum a lovely weekend, and you the best of luck with that stone.
Nice shave Mark! The scales on that razor are great! I like the red and white color scheme 😎👍 I had a Stirling set inspired by the same fragrance as your soap today, great scent! I hope you and your mom have a good one! Steve
Thanks Steve. The guy that added the red liner on the scales, really did a great job. It was a bit beyond my meagre skills. Stirling do make really good stuff! Very nice. Mam and I are all good thanks. Trouble free and long may it last - I hope you and your family are too. All the best.
Hey Paul, I hope you are keeping well. 😃 I'm still trying to learn how the new phone works, but it's good news that the camera is better! Take care mate.
Great shave Mark! Good luck with those stones. Keep at it. Hopefully others in the community with experience can help. Do you remember what exact knot that was in the brush? Seems like something I may like. Softer with lower backbone and easy splay. Take care.
Thank you, mate. The knot is, I think, one of those Plisson type knots, sometimes called a Plissoft knot. It was likely from Maggards or from AP ShaveCo. Similar knots are the Faux Horsehair or Brown knot, again from one or the other.
Hi Mark- Great straight razor shave; thank you! The shave looked very smooth, indeed. The video quality is also excellent, as well. I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead. Take good and sending best regards, as always, my friend!
I have started the straight razor shaving. Finding it very challenging. And the coticule honing is a skill of its own. If you learn anything, 😊let me know
If I learn anything, I will. It is very challenging, but I think, if my experience is anything to go by, that it is an engaging hobby that will certainly keep you thinking and learning, in a nice way. That's how I find it, anyway. All the best.
Oh, something new to me - someone who actually likes shaving. I personally hate it. Use electric shaver and do that once in few days, after wife goes cranky over it xD Your calm explaining manner of speaking makes it almost an ASMR video. Very relaxing to watch and I enjoyed it, while not being a fan of shaving. Great video - Pixel 8 seems more than good enough for the purpose. If I can make one comment: a bit of an echo in the sound and that's because of you making it in the bathroom, that's my guess.
My Dad was just like yourself. As a small child, I always remember him with bits of toilet tissue stuck to his face after a shave. He soon went on to an electric razor. Safety razor blades these days are much better than he used. The first electric razor was made in 1930 by Colonel Schick, who also invented the Schick safety razor that I'm using next week. Thanks very much for the comments about video quality - I appreciate it. All the best.
Is that Silver Star razor from China. As for trying to hone a razor using just one stone and various densities of slurry, just isn't worth the time or trouble, in my opinion. As you know I'm not a great fan of natural stones. Natural stones are inconsistent and you never know what you are getting when you buy them. Some are good, other are mediocre at best. And you never know what grit rate they are, you just get an approximate wide range.
Hi Dave. The Silver Star is not from China, but the razor that I was trying to hone was. So far, I'm not greatly impressed with the coticule but maybe that is me and not the stone. Time will tell. I'm quite enjoying experimenting with my stones - in time who knows what I'll end up with!

Ah yes. Haverford is a dupe; I had forgotten. We had a nice weekend thank you, I hope your family did. Best wishes for the week ahead.

Awesome, thank you!
groovy!
Indeed it was, but I decided I should really have a better title!🤩
Beautiful looking razor Mark! I know what you are dealing with on the coti stone. I have not mastered it yet either.
I've had four attempts, Lawrence; the last one today which I need to test. Fingers crossed, my friend and good luck with your coticule!
@ if I get it figured out, I will have a video titled “I finally did it” hehehehe

Did you change the name of this video, Mark?
It popped up in my feed as I was off to bed, but with a different name. I think.🤔
Yes, I did mate. I called it groovy just to upload it quickly and didn't realise it was going to go live straight away.

I have the Pixel 6, really good video and photo quality. Enjoy!🪒🪒
Thanks for sharing, Gary. I wish the screen had been a bit lighter to look at but I barely know how it works, at the moment. All the best👍
Swipe down from the top and brightness is the 1st option, a horizontal bar ....atleast on mine. You can always google it! lol
