    Thanks for the help. Regarding the first ship: exhaust reactively effects on movement. possibly exhaust on the left and its absence on the right, as opposed to the left, affects the constant roll to the right

    For the last vessel, with the diesel electric system, i create a separate generator loop for the electric motors only, this way i can have a small or medium generator for the entire electric system and then drive the electric motors off large generators this way the motors can only use what the generators put out and you dont need large batteries to buffer the power

    My suggestion is, if possible, devs actually can try to introduce block coefficient into the game. I know some shipbuilding game use this as a quick way to assist with calculating drag stuff but pretty messed up, worth a try anyway.

    I would be interested to see if you simply replaced the fin that was opposite in its positive and negative if the problem would fix itself, I noticed if you have x-axis symmetry on when placing rudders and props that it inverts the +/- direction. Love the videos though new to the game and I definitely have a long way to go

    I think a good general rule is if your plane weighs more than maybe 3000 kg or is expecting large amounts of impact, you need large hinges or magnets to hold the gear in place.

    I just found this game and i know that this video is six months old but I think that the problem might be single propeller design.
    Using olnly one propeller that turns clockwise creates force that can turn ship counter-clockwise. It also creates different pressure on both size of the hull.
    If this simmulation is accurate enough it may make effect

      It’s not too much of an issue for ships.
      For their immense size, weight, and resulting resistance in water, even the massive oil tankers, container ships, and more generally like to use 1 massive propeller because it’s cheaper and allows for a more efficient hull design.
      Airplanes (specifically propeller airplanes and helicopters) suffer from the rotation issue because they have little resistance compared to their massive amounts of power and very light weights.

    First off, let me say thank you for all these videos. Decided to try and tackle a Medium Small SAR Boat and now that I'm nearly done I'm working on the drivetrain and it feels like a dog with two medium engines. It's about 6k mass in total but after your little comment about the multi-block wedges I'm sure that's part of the problem and honestly makes me not even want to continue. I started with the hull and got the exact aesthetic I wanted but now I'm to understand that it's garbage because it uses multi-block angles? FRUSTRATING

    I guess I am a little hater of the clutch / gearbox for the direct drive.
    The reason is it is so clunky to drive direct drive boats, so when I drive a good diesel or turbine electric it is wonderful!
    No worries with having to declutch if you need to slow down, it just plain works and is easier to drive.
    Closest I have seen is one with an automatic transmission, but even that one for forcing a slow down caused weird behaviours to occur and the engine get stuck in high rev, but not engaging drive.

    To the guy who made the bomber, sometimes the wheels aren't strong enough/ are too small. They are greatly affected by weight so I would put bigger tires on it or double them up. Should look nice as well

    Any reason why the wedges on boat #2 is slowing it down so much? I got similar edges and cornerblocks ETC on a pretty big boat and it would suck if im losing around 25-50% speed because i want it to look nice

      But that does suck. I've been making some aesthetically better crafts, but now they seem to lose all novelty. . . .

      @@MrNJersey Well that truly sucks. You can make sooo much more with all these other pyramid/inverse pyramid and wedge blocks but what good does it do if you can barley drive your boat because for some reason they slow it down by a TON. Do the devteam know about this? Seems like something unintended IMO.

      @HadHox it's very likely because, in the game, those wedges are coded as solid blocks, not angular ones, likely due to a bug, when specifically interacting with water. So they have more mass than they're supposed to and the front face is likely treated as a flat wall in water and creating excessive amounts of drag as a result.
      Physics engines have to do a lot of cheating to make them work in real-time, things like converting the drag of a vehicle from being each individual part to a simplified estimate for the entire vehicle so it doesn't have to be constantly re-run, and given the complex nature of the interface between 2 fluid mediums (water and air), even a very tiny bug in how a block is coded would completely break the game's interpretation of the drag of that part and its impact on the rest of the creation. It will likely be fixed eventually, but that's a poor man's introduction to physics engines and should help to give a basic understanding of why it might be slowing creations down so much.

      We don't know just yet. Next update is focused around handheld gear. This is really the wrong place to be asking that though, your best bet would be to check on the official discord.

      @@hayamizo2802 Fair. I'm pretty sure it was really high up on the community poll they did to pick new features (and I think there were some images for them too at some point?) so I wouldn't be surprised if it was maybe one of the next major updates

    Mr NJersey. Isn't the problem with the 1st one caused by the spinning dongles on top of the craft? Those small pivots, even though they're small, are both creating torque that's centered to throw the middle of the boat towards starboard the way they're turning. If those were deleted and there weren't any spinning ornaments I think the roll would be gone and the stabilization wouldn't be overworked to try to correct a "mysterious roll".
    Watch it again and see how the 2 dongles are spinning. They should theoretically cancel each other out, but Stormworks laughs at theoreticals. They're literally acting as a counter gyro to the gyro being used to stabilize the swaying of regular sailing. This means that a possible second gyro needs to be added to counter the radar/beacon/light dongles on top that are spinning.
    PSA to new players and the community who didn't know. Spinning anythings on top of creations 1. create a weird torque twist force that might turn/list/flip your creation. and 2. Drains your electricity needlessly. If it must spin have it on a breaker or a relay so you can conserve power when you're not using it. Please be aware of this. Most of the time your aesthetics and gimmicks are what's causing issues.

      The higher spinning pivot is for the Lidar system, and ye, I added the other pivot to cancel out the "strange roll" but to no avail. I also already tried deleting the whole section on top, but that made no difference. I think that the interior, due to it not being sealed, and more objects of the right side, leads to more drag, cause when I removed all of the interior, if veers right slightly(due to the driver's seat)

      @@pikapika-zm1gf Okay cool. I'm definitely not jabbing at you or anything. I just am going off of my own experience of having something set to spin on top of a creation and then instead my creation is spinning. . . . as if it was claimed by Mother Russia.😆
      But it was just a thought. I think if the main hull isn't 100% sealed, then that could definitely be an issue. The other thing you could try is adding another prop with a small amount of power going to it. See if that will counter act it. (I'm spitballing.) Another thing, just spitballing again, could possibly be your gear boxes if you have a dual system in it (2 transmission systems going to each prop). One might be set to a different ratio than the other (I'm guilty of this and have wasted a few hours trying to fix a tank for this 1 simple slip up of mine.)
      All in all though, it looks great and in the end I hope you get it going as you want it to. Most creations are for fun, but when they're as functional as that one seems to be headed towards, it makes them that much better. Good luck with that and sincere congrats on building it that far.

    I have something I want to get fixed. It is a massive sea plane. I built it with folding wings and can't get it to take off. It keeps diving into the water at full speed. I have the same user name on steam.

    Hey, question: every time when i build a ship (most with a flat bottom) its capsizes when i place superstructure, how to make its right and what is requirements?
    If someone help, thanks for help.

      It most likely has something to do with the weight distribution. If your center of gravity (the pink square) is too high up it will make the ship capsize. If you want to share a link to your creation I can maybe explain more

      Linus Rieger is correct. You're probably putting too much on the superstructure, causing the weight distribution to rise over the waterline. If you want to "test" it to make sure, cut off your super structure and paste it back on as flat as you can to the deck. All you need is the mass of the superstructure. Spawn in your ship and see where the waterline comes up to.
      Mark that area, roughly, with paint and then from there on out make sure the center of gravity marker is always below that. The further below that line it is, the more stable your ship will be. It's a lot of work, but once you build a bunch more, you'll get the "sense" of things.

      Turn on the center of mass indicator in the workshop, a little pink box will appear somewhere in the middle of your creation. If that box is too high up it will cause massive instability, even stabilizers cant fix.
      Paint a rainbow up the side of your ship near the COM and spawn it into the world. Before it capsizes - but after it settles to a steady level) go to camera mode to pause the game and note which colour is at the water line. Go back into the workship and see where your COM is in relation to that water line.
      try to keep the COM as far bellow waterline as possible using a weighted keel. But don't forget that every componant has weight. Add a rail stabilizer if you want it low down in the ship (which in itself will also bring the COM down) , and I'd recomend putting your batteries on the stabilizer for extra mass. If you've only built the hull so far dont forget you'll be adding weight with interiors, logic blocks, exterior decoations, engines, fuel tanks, etc etc. So don't judge your creations stability purely off it's hull.
      my ship is relatively flat bottomed too, but I have a keel on it that houses another forward/backward stabilizer (in adition to my tilt stabilizer) to resist tilt while ballast tanks fill up, it doesnt add much drag and helps with stability, both in actually resisting tilt due to drag of the block, and the weight so far bellow the rest of the ship drags the COM down pretty far.

      After I watched this video, I replaced all my wedges and my boat's speed increased from around 20 kts to over 40 kts. So I would say: "Yes, wedges are very much still an issue." It took me only a week of pointless trial and error to stumble over this video. 😜🤔
