This would be my trade strategy for this year. I would go to St Kilda at the end of the year, and offer them for their probable 5th pick, picks no 38, 43, 46, 65, and sweeten the pot with hunter thrown in. (Cos he was good with our old strategy).
And I would use our two picks to get two of the best Midfielders. I think we won a GF with sparrow on at Half Forward. And so I think we are leaving performance on the table if we keep him in the midfield. He has done his apprenticeship in the midfield, now put him back forward in his sweet spot.
And if they don't take the trade, throw in something else they could want, maybe like McAdam. To really secure the trade. LOL. And see if you can slip that one by them. (wink wink, nudge nudge)....
Take advantage of the fact St Kilda have much room for improvement on their list.
I think that Melksham is a good replacement for Brownie at FF if he is not available in our best team. Also, I think that TMac is a good replacement for May when he decides to retire. So I don't think we should go with a defender.
If we can get all that done again, I think we are probably in GF territory again by 2027;; ))
