I agree with you. I love the NLT for just reading plus I love the filament so. KJV or New English Bible (no longer in print) wor word for word. ESV Study Bible for sure. I also love the NLT Life Application Parallel Study which has both the three NLT study notes and the Life Application Study notes. Great resource. I too am a study Bible nerd. I want them all. Each has different notes based on the subject each one focuses on. Just got the counseling Bible, still checking it out.
I use the Complete Jewish Study Bible. It reinstates the Hebraic name and nuances. Instead of the erroneously translated “James”, it uses Ya’acov. Instead of the erroneously translated “Mary,” it puts the correct Miriam.
I miss my Pitt Minion. I also miss the eyes I had before 40. Use them while you got 'em. Read, Read, Read! My Canterbury is by far the nicest bible I own. Nice choices!!
Thank you. I am currently reading a KJV, but I have to reference different versions in my Bible app when I don’t understand the KJV text but I’m still loving it. Also, I really appreciate the break down of the differences of the Bible’s and the importance of each type. I have been reading my Bible daily for a few years now but I also have wanted to grow more and some family members have asked me to do a Bible study but I hesitate because I don’t want to lead in the wrong way or misinterpret the word. I love having discussions with my family about God and I know when the Holy Spirit is speaking because those conversations are amazing and they flow so smoothly. I will be purchasing some of your recommendations I’m so excited I definitely needed to see this video!! I don’t see a link did you post one or is it possible for you to post a list of the Bible’s? I don’t mind looking up the links. Thank you!!!
I would also recommend The Cultural Backgrounds Study Bible, The NLT Illustrating Bible, The Complete Jewish Study Bible, The Holy Land Illustrating Bible, a good Bible Dictionary, and the Archaeological Study Bible along with a good Bible Atlas.
I think your suggestions are excellent. There's a few of your suggestions I don't have (The Holy Land Illustrating Bible I've never heard of) so I've got a bit of research to do. Thank you for mentioning the Bible dictionary. I'm using mine a lot lately. Having one is essential. God bless and keep studying the word.
I agree with a lot of this. But I LOVE study Bibles just to see what educated scholars are saying about different topics and how they agree and disagree. The main Bibles I use are: 1. ESV Study Bible 2. CSB Study Bible 3. NIV Study Bible 4. NLT with filament 5. NKJV Schofield Study Bible 6. KJV Thompson Chain Reference I own several others that get used from time to time. But these are the ones I use the most. The top 4 are about equal in use and a bit ahead of the other two. My next addition will be the Apologetics study Bible and I suspect it will be in the heavy rotation.
An NET full notes edition, to hear the logic behind various word selection decisions.
this year I am going to look into the NET full notes, I think the translation notes are an awesome tool.

I also have a wide margin Canterbury, mine is dark purple. It is beautiful!

We have the same CSB Thinline Large Print Bible even the cover. It's now my favorite Bible. I love the CSB as translation too. God bless us all!
I love it, I do keep going back to a wide margin though, I am a note taker. The CSB has become my favorite translation

Does the csb contain all verses like the KJV? Thanks
KJV, NKJV and NIRV if you don't want to use a strong's concordance.
