I have the Candace Cameron Bure cover of this Bible. It doesn’t have that page you showed where you fill in some information. I like it, but I don’t love it. I find that devotional Bibles distract me. I like reading them, but they don’t give me any a-ha moments, if you know what I mean. My complaints about this Bible are the way the pages stick together and the light colored print on the devotional pages. What I wish some of these “special” Bibles would do is print a non-Bible version of the devotions. Like, if you already have a perfectly good Bible and just want all the extra devotions/articles.

Really nice. I know I'm late to the celebration, but I just wanted to pop in and say I love bibles with history as well. Wonderful connection to another believer you may not ever know until we all go Home to be with the Lord!

I just bought the same vbv CSB. I love it! It feels so good. The format makes me want to delve in.

Nice clean system. I am just going through the Bible for the first time and have only been using pencil and colored pencils. Orange for bad/evil, blue for words from God/Jesus, green for good stuff, and red for names and places. I also write notes on pieces of colored paper and washi tape it in. I also tape a tracker in the front as well as made some pockets with washi tape to hold general notes and verses I want to memorize.

I use the Twistables for highlighting because they don’t bleed through. For adding notes, I write it out on a piece of paper. I glue the left hand edge with a glue stick, then I place it between the pages all the way down in the crack. I like the transparent sticky notes idea though. Color code is different for each person I guess. Mine is yellow for general info, I highlight dates and people’s names. Then I draw a box around it. Red is a little dark, so I use pink. Pink is for bad/good examples that people do/commands and warnings. Purple is for God and Christ, his attributes, deity and humanity. I use purple and draw a purple star next to prophecies about Christ. Blue is for baptism. Turquoise is for passages that comfort me. Orange is for the word of God. Green is for doctrine, Gospel, or money. A lot of times I know about where something is but don’t remember the verse. Color coding is a way to find something quickly. Oh yeah. Christ’s deity is in Hebrews. Right, it’s Hebrews 1 because it’s in purple. Oh yah, there’s a prophecy in the New Testament that Christ fulfilled. It has a purple star.

Document repair tape is a great alternative to washi but it doesn’t remove easily. You can see through it tho and write over it easily.

With the CSB , I feel that getting your vbv copy and their single column seems like a good combo.

Today I ordered a new wide margin bible for my daughter. She looks forward to hold it in her hand next week. She usually reads thru the bible doing much notes. When she has read thru she gets a new one to start again. This is her way to do it. Greetings from Germany

Good review and thoughts, brother. I've also struggled to find the best size/layout for an outreach/carry-with-me Bible. I've ended up going with the CSB Single Column Compact Bible, which has an 8-point font and all black text. I would have gone with the ESV Large Print Compact Bible, which I think is the perfect size and layout, but the big problem is that the page/text ghosting is the worst I've seen in any Bible anywhere, especially in the poetic sections, so I really don't think it's very usable.

Covers are not important bro, material inside is what has real value

Of course, most Christians nowadays worry more about what their Bible 'looks' like on the outside then what they know about the inside. I bought a new $5.00 NKJV paper back Bible several years ago after coming back to Church. It started falling apart with all the notes I was making, so I wrapped it up with duct tape and its holding up just fine. While my $5.00 Bible was falling apart my life was getting built back up. As long as someone is reading a decent Bible, they'll grow.

Nice Bible, I have never used a VBV modern translation but have always liked the KJV VBV, especially for preaching although for many years I used a paragraph NIV (1984) for preaching.

Why do you wear your cap backwards?

I hear the Ruckman KJV is acurate. I love the KJV. The NKJV is a watered down piece of junk. I threw mine in the dumpster. Not a real bible. Too many changes from the KJV that change the word of God. Stands for Not KJV. Comapre them and you will see the false changes. The words don't mean the same.

It’s on sale at Lifeway- what I like about this bible is the font size, the incredible amount of references and character articles. I got mine in leather- 18$ plus shipping. The leather smells like a baseball glove!

Love the MEV it’s been rumored to have an update coming with some of the typos fixed. Currently liking the BSB for the freedom of the text.

That Bible is as big as a boat anchor. I think it would be good as a reference book for a pastor’s study, but not an everyday read. I’ve had two study bibles lately, the CSB Study Bible and the KJV Easy Read. They are nice study Bibles, but they’re heavy and hard to get in a comfortable position to read. Trying to use it in church and cart it back and forth is a nightmare. I took one out tonight that is a personal size Bible. I find that I mainly use the cross references only any way. I suggest a Holman Bible. They do have some nice ones, end of verse cross references, and a more manageable personal size.

Zondervan released updated versions with easier to read text, and they completed the chains that were not completed before

I only follow KJV. If it is not KJV, do not call it a Bible, because it is not.
