Your tutorials are great Alec! It's not given to everybody (as some think they are doing well)

Nice tutorial! I wondered if ACDSEE had focus stacking. No I know. But, I wondered if ACDSEE can load the images of a video made with a sequence of depths like Helicon Focus. I like to see how different programs perform similar function.

Thanks Jim - haha - you stumped the bear on that one - I have no idea what Helicon Focus is 😳

@ACDSee Is focus stacking an available tool in acdsee's other editing software? I have Photo Editor 10 and acdsee Pro 7, but haven't been able to find it anywhere... perhaps i'm blind and it's about to bite me on the nose?

Thank you Alec, very informative. Whether you're doing Focus Stacking or any other fine tuning adjustments, do you post-process your photos mostly in RAW or JPEG in ACDSee Phtoto Studio 2020? And why one versus the other please? Thank you.

Is there a limit to the number of shots you can stack into one photo?

Is tethering an option? I use a shareware app to do this now for infinite depth of field but it sure would be great to do it all in one platform.

Hi Dave, my best answer is yes, sort of ... I have a tethering workflow video here: th-cam.com/video/CapoUABzWro/w-d-xo.html

    14% Stacking After 3 hours of PC processing.............Is it normal? ( Pc Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1165G7 @ 2.80GHz 2.80 GHz 16 gb - ADCsee 2023) ??

Been using ACDsee Pro7 for years. Just got a Nikon D7500 but ACDsee won't accept Nikon's RAW (NEF) It'll accept hundreds of models except the D7500. Why ?

Gosh Senra0209 - I can't speak to that one! I'm not a Nikon shooter - Let's ask the ACDsee guys! Fellas?

Hi Sentra0209! We have supported D7500 for a few years now. You can upgrade your product through acdID, and you can see all the cameras we support here: www.acdsee.com/en/support/raw-formats/ Please reach out if you have anymore questions. All the best!

@@sentra0209 I know i have email tech support a few times in the past and nothing, so .. yea.. I just stopped with the ACDsee and stuck with my tried and true clunky PS. I wonder if you can pull the demo down and then extract the area of code that determines the raw data signatures and just drop into your 7? probably work just fine. Actually, ill go give it a go...

Having learned photography prior to digital, when you moved the camera back to get greater depth of field you also changed perspective. Secondly when getting maximum depth of field you would not focus on the front object in a still life but focus approximately 1/3 into the subject matter as depth of field will carry to the back of the subject matter more than to the front of the subject matter. Thus being the reason you focus only a 1/3 into the image. Digital is fascinating and there are so many new ways to do things so love these tutorials but I'm 78, still shooting and some of the old ways stick in my mind but do love the new digital.
