Elliott doesn’t actually need time to think, nor does he think it’s moving too fast, he pulls back because Lucas says his mom his crazy and he doesn’t want crazy people in his life. This isn’t a spoiler because you now know the Skam storyline, but because Elliott is bipolar he thinks pulling back and letting Lucas find someone else who is not “crazy” is what’s best for him. You also get the impression that he routinely going back to Sonya so it’s not weird to think he’d repeat the same routine this time.

Yes to all you wrote. I also don’t think there’s anything wrong or rude of Eliott to leave a note in the bed for Lucas being that it’s mid-afternoon, they’d been together for hours, and the note was so sweet …you’re beautiful when you sleep” with a heart drawing.

Interesting fact: The actor who plays Lucas actually broke his hand when he punched that wall after he stormed off! That scream must have been real!

Axel broke his hand when he punched the fence in that last scene, that's such dedication to his role. 🥺❤️
The face Eliott makes when Lucas tells him he doesn't need crazy people in his life. It doesn't matter how many times I watch that scene, it always breaks my heart, because people have said that about me so many times too 😢💔.

Axel really did punch that gate and hurt himself.
There's a brilliant video on here where the cast are watching this episode in a cinema and Axel is actually crying when he sees himself doing that bit ❤

Guys, knowing what you know about this story, how did you miss that Elliott pulled away because of Lucas telling him that he didn’t want mentally I’ll people in his life? He wanted to end it now before either of them got hurt more.

About the “am I your first” question I’d like to point out they are in “upper high school” which makes them teenagers. So perhaps what the writers were going for is “age appropriate question”. It’s not that far fetched that teenagers would ask each other this kind of question.

    • @k.u9275
      @k.u9275 ปีที่แล้ว +12

The question is not about the first time sex but the first "guy". That's why Lucas asks Eliott because he knows already he's not a virgin because he has been with Lucille for years. It's only a question about intimity with guys.

Not going to lie. I would totally re-watch Twilight, if Edward and Bella were replaced with these two. It's time for a reboot.

The look on Eliott’s face when Lucas says he doesn’t want crazy people in his life gets me every time. It drives me crazy that the two don’t have a conversation about this at this point as they clearly are at least “ in like” if not in love yet.

the way the beginning of that episode was shot is so beautiful. also the acting from the actor playing Lucas is so good.. and he is about to continue delivering great scenes.

I really love that you also feel that love weekends are important for shaping who you are ❤ you really don't forget them ever! It really feels like you and the person against the world
And the hurt in Eliott's look is heartbreaking when Lucas says he doesn't need crazy people in his life. Yes he does lead him on but its because he is so scared of hurting Lucas with his disease.
You have to see the actors reacting in première to this episode. Its so cute ❤❤

I love the relationship Lucas and Manon have in this version. I get that is not necessarily realistic for them all to be close friends and Noora and Isak were polite acquitances at best. But I love the energy both actors have togeteher. I think the director of this version favoured the Isak and Noora characters and wanted them to be close, so he made the right choices in casting and obviously directing.

I can definitely understand all those emotions at the party. After he fell in love too fast, which happens to teenagers often, he basically feels like he just got pressured into coming out to his roommate to keep his undefined romantic relationship, then got ghosted, cheated on, and then outed to a whole party full of people he wasn't ready to come out to yet, all in one night. Feeling like being dumped or cheated on, is enough to stir up emotions in adults, but add all those together with being outed, to a teenager...and yeah. Punching fences and dropping to the ground in tears feels about right. Sometimes far worse consequences happen that lead to a lot of people gathered at a solemn location in tears and dark clothes, so I'm glad that doesn't happen to Lucas here. (I'd never approve of playing with someone's feelings in order to hide in the closet, but I've always abhorred the concept of outing people, especially out of anger or revenge. I always felt that coming out was an extremely personal decision, and action, everyone has to take on their own timetable, for themselves and not for others.)

Love this episode, so well acted. The bed scene is quite intense. I actually like more, that Cloe just reminds Lucas that he is gay, and understandably she is angry for him leading her on, but unlike Emma from OG she doesn't actually tell him to get out of the closet/kinda forcing him, like Emma does. Sidenote: If I'm not mistaken, I think, that Axel actually hurt his hand a bit during filming of the last scene, and wondering when the full uncut episode 4 will be up on patreon? Great reaction as always.

Definitely interesting to see the aspects of the scene where Elliott tells Lucas he split up with Lucie / Lucas tells Elliott about his mum that you guys highlighted here, as opposed to what you highlighted when you watched the equivalent scene in the original series. Context puts that scene into a whollllle different perspective.

Quick question- did you all end up watching OG (Norway) SKAM season 4 - Sana’s season? I would recommend because it’s such a good story. Not necessarily saying react to it (not that I would complain if you did 😂). It’s just that you all have mentioned loving the Sana character in OG and France. And your correct - excellent character! Anyway - I recommend you watch (plus more Isak and Even!) ❤

I think Eliott took a step back from their relationship because of the conversation they had outside of the classroom and not because he actually wanted to distance himself from Lucas. Since I know what's to come about his story, when Lucas told him he didn't want crazy people in his life, I believe Eliott started to fear Lucas would reject him once he found out about him being bipolar. Also, I see him coming back to Lucille as him going back to the person that already accepts him from who he is. She's his safe choice while Lucas is a risk and he wasn't ready to put himself on the line like that. I definitely prefer the french version of this episode because it accentuate all of this details way better than the original, in my opinion.

French person here : If you're looking for suggestion of lgbt+ content you might not be aware of, I can only recommend "Les Engagés" a french show (2 seasons of 10 episodes, 10 minutes by episode and then a 3rd season with the name XAOC with only 3, longer (45min), episodes)
99% of the characters are queer so, although we follow the coming out of the main character, his coming to terms with his sexuality is not the focus of the plot but rather the inner conflicts of the lgbt+ activism scene (sexism, transphobia within the community)
That makes the show original, almost educational and definitely interesting.
ps : there is also a french film named "Les engagés" but it has nothing to do with lgbt+ representation 😉
pss : love your content I cannot wait to finish SKAM france with you

i mean in Elliot's defense he is bipolar and his ex-gf is probably drilling it into him that he's having manic episode. But he can't stop wanting Lucas, even after he tries to "dump" him for his own good (as he sees it).
all of that said, the French version over-dramatizes certain thing in a way that makes it all very soapy, while OG SKAM (I feel) keeps things very grounded and realistic. Like, Isak's life is pretty dramatic (with his parents and stuff)... but the show is very honest and grounded in the sense that everyone has heavy sh*t i their lives, Isak is no different, etc.

The whole thing about trying to "distance yourself and judge people from the same community that you're part of" is unfortunately common. The comparisons to the original are interesting in this episode, particularly in the scene between Lucas and Mickaël. To me, the things Lucas says are really more offensive than the things Isak says, and the reactions are different as well, with Mickaël more angry, while Eskild is more disappointing. Each is appropriate to its own version. I have to say this is one of my least favorite of the friend groups from the varying versions. And it may be a matter of personal taste, but I find this version to be too over the top, though that could be ascribed to the Gallic temperament. I much prefer the subtlety of the OG. For example, what Tarjei manages to convey at the end with body language as he walks away from the camera is just as powerful as the more overt sobbing from Axel, and to me a more impressive performance. I do enjoy the kid wanting more cake in the common room, though.

SKAM France overdramatized and it is absolutely not more emotional to me. The cliche charming phrases lack depth and realism. Shouting the loudest- crying buckets- punching fences does not convey emotions better. It feels scripted. Lucas is way too confident for a 17 yo and behaves more like 21+ person. Eliott is way too generous with his smiles and smoldering looks towards EVERYBODY thus his intimate/love moments with Lucas lose their impact too many times /and are great a few times/. Even's intesity and Even/Isak's intimacy is what punched me. My opinion.
