Its about the same in south nj. Im in AC area, weve been getting a north wind making it nearly impossible in the ocean and tough in the inlet. Super high tides since the full moon with flooding. The mullet run has died down a bunch
Tried the beach yesterday couldn’t hold with a 8oz spudnik. Very frustrating ended up using a 5oz storm sinker casting up current and walking down beach with it. Hopefully this blow ends soon! Thanks for all your reports throughout the year!
Thanks for your report. Walking with it and more actively fishing the rod is a very good way to bait fish a sweeping current. Some areas it's the only way.
Holgate is LOADED with Mullet. The run is on! I'm not the best @ throwing a cast net & I was getting about 8-15 mullet each time I threw my little 6 ft net.
Please check back on recent report videos as well as the more detailed report blog posts at FishingLBI.com - We had a great summer of light tackle striped bass action in the Barnegat Bay. These are resident schoolies which were a slightly larger size this summer from the past few. Seems to be more active too. Most all of my catches were fishing the flats with poppers as well as the sod backs with bucktail jigs. Also the rips and structures of the main thoroughfares were productive for me and others during the lower traffic periods of time and prime tidal windows. Hope that helps. @FishermansHeadquarters thank I'm a land based fisherman yea I have to talk with you definitely. I watch your reports all the time I know you can only cover so much in the video.
That's a great view you got there but I'm sure you took a beating from Sandy with the south - southwest exposure. Would of been nice if years back LBT built that small pier another 100' out.
@@FishermansHeadquarters yeah I usually keep my boat right there but it’s out of the water for repairs now. We had to redo our entire downstairs after sandy and then lift the house it was rough. Yeah there’s a hole about 75 feet passed the pier and hold some smaller fish but fun kayak spot.

Love the report. Curious if the little one has arrived?
Thanks for checking in. Noah came on Tuesday 9/24. Both mom and bay are doing great.

Greg you say that the striped bass bite has been goon all summer. You really don't empathize on it . Please tell me more.
