There was an "Engineering student" potato once. No melee/ranged/elemental damage but 5% damage per engineering and some luck and range per structure while structures are destroyed... Perfect potato for ghost wrench run.
i look at the ethereal stat gain weapons not fighting each other for the stacks but more like sharing them. That is if you have all same ones. Yea you loose a few stacks per wave by having multiples, but for the 20 waves its a negligible amount. And the wrenches are op, like any other base stat gaining weapon.(there are a bunch through out all the mods)
I know you mention how engineering in the base game is balanced and you find wave 16 legendary turret to be ridiculously strong in this run, but those numbers are pretty much on par with the average non engi run for any character that isn't built like the Pacifist or vanilla burning builds.
They should probably add like ghost versions of all the turrets that have something like less range and damage scaling for the turrets to compensate for the fact it's endless scaling bonkers nonsense.
You probably already know this, but the mod has an accompanying mod that ads three characters, which are quite fun although a bit easy.
