At first I thought what a waste of wood the block being so big but then I it started taking shape of a giants foot , either way great work making them lasts by hand

Love all of his tools. For some reason, I get the impression that the wood he's working with is VERY old. Like part of a demolished old building or something. Look at how close grained it is. That is old growth.

I didn't understand why you broke the mould after making it with somuch passion and Hardwork. 🤔
The last has to consist of two pieces or you wouldn't be able to get it out of the shoes once they are made!
Not criticizing or complaining, but there are easier ways to make a last. That being said I absolutely love the handmade aspect of these lasts. They are beautiful, works of art all on their own. I couldn’t want for a more entertaining last build.
This is utterly amazing. I think it would be much easier if Kazuma were to start rough shaping with a band saw and then finish up with hand tools. I have a complete shop yet I don't have 1/10th of the skill. Kazuma is amazing and this video was very well edited.
