UPDATE: This may be my fault, not Traxxas's fault! I was made aware that I put a servo in that was over the esc's limit. Thank you to the viewer who made me aware of my mistake so I can learn from it and not do it again!
How would a servo cause a fire exactly?
Also shouldn’t you remove video then?
@skyhawk21 It's a 8.4v servo and the esc has a max of 6 so it's possible it's my fault. Traxxas will let me know when they get the esc.
@@skyhawk21 No, I'll just update it cause I still don't know what caused it for sure. It could still be all their fault. We'll see what the diagnosis is and go from there 🤷♂️
It's the esc . They are garbanzo
Run the Redcat Red! Problem solved. I just subbed, beautiful forest you took me to, I appreciate it. Side note, my 5 year old nephew saved up all his birthday/Christmas money and bought himself a TRX4M Defender. In less than two weeks he burned out the stock servo. My honest opinion, you buy the Traxxas for the body shell and chassis. The entire electronics package you scrap and replace: motor, servos, esc, transmitter, and receiver. Good luck with how you choose to proceed.
😅 I immediately went and got the Redcat out, lol. I also have a Trx4m and burnt up the servo quick, but I just figured it was cause it was small, lol. I've since learned that Traxxas has crap electronics period! Thank you, tons, for watching and subbing, I really do appreciate it!
Sorry about the truck glad you didn't burn down the sequoias
Thank you, and I am also glad it wasn't worse, especially because of where I was.
WoW!!!
That happens....
I've been learning it happens a lot with traxxas, actually 🤷♂️
HéHéHé yhap! In my TRX6 only the original Traxxas motor still there😂
Dang man that sucks. Not only the cost of the rig but your time for a trip to go crawling. Had to be very frustrating. I hope you get it resolved quickly and back on the trails soon 🤘
Very disappointing! Thanks for the kind words 🤘🤘
Hi from France !
Your vid just pop in my feed, sorry for your loss if i can say so :D
Got a defender myself 2 months ago and already changed motor esc for a 2in1 HW Fusion pro 2300kv really great.
What i would say watching your run is I think you run a bit too much in 2nd gear for slow crawl, and it's really hard on the electronics, it draws a lot of amp cause it need more torque. It's always better to run in 1st with more rev. Or drop a tooth or two for the pinion (got the 9, and my defender is almost 15lb).
The spot you were is georgous btw :)
Cheers !
People have been suggesting the same system, so I'm definitely gonna check it out. Thanks for the info, and I can't believe my video is being shown in France 😊
My first rig was a trx4 blazer, within 2 weeks my motor went out, then my servo 2 weeks after that.... I feel your pain. Honestly with their crawlers, the first thing I do is change the esc and servo before I ever run them now.
It sucks big time that we spend so much on a big name brand just to spend more immediately cause they have crap electronics. Thanks for the comment and watching, I appreciate it 🙏
@@RedsRCVlog Yes sir, you earned a sub from me! Hopefully we will eventually stop getting jerked around by these big companies!
Wooo 👍first. Hows it? Stay positive . Nice crawlers . Love the location. Thank you for the therapy time. 😊
Thanks for all the love brother 💯💚🙏🤙🤙🤙🤙
We repair we crawl we break we fix we repeat . Great video.
I'll repair it but not with Traxxas crap 😁
Damn that sucks! Makes me feel even better about choosing a Redcat gen8 as my first crawler. I’ve had it over a year and ive only had to replace the castor blocks 🤙 hope Traxxas takes care of you and it gets sorted as quickly as possible👍
I also have a Gen 8 and absolutely LOVE it! No problems at all so far. Redcat is making some awesome rigs.. Traxxas said I need to use the extended warranty.. I don't think I'm gonna put Traxxas electronics back in it. I'm not sure yet..
All RTR electronics are...questionable. it shouldn't be that way for all the money some companies charge. Great video 👍🏾
Ya it's crazy
It makes me emotional 💰
Don't be 😅. Turns out it was caused by a mistake I made, so it's my own fault 😞
Traxxas tough with Arrma stuff 😅
😅 I like that lol
Stay positive
I sure will try, thanks!
Bummer this happened while you were out on vacation wanting to enjoy your new crawler.I had a traxxas slash esc go up in smoke the 3rd day I had it.I installed a new 2s lipo to try in it which was supposed to handle and up in smoke it went. They sent a new one but still sucked it happened.
I bought a trx4 bronco about a year ago and had good luck with the stock electronics and also installed a 40g servo and all was fine.It now has a hobbywing 2in1 brushless system which is great in this thing. 👍🏼
Thanks for the info. Some are now telling me the servo may not have been the problem. I have to send it to Traxxas and see what they say. I'll definitely update when I get it resolved.
Servo thing doesnt make sense to me also. You should be able to run a stronger servo as long as it’s at 6.2 volts? and not at 7.4v.But then a servo designed to run at 6.2 which is the stock servo and the micros servos in it also would burn out instead of the esc.Just a faulty esc I believe.
@Elisplushies360woodierc I accidentally put in an 8.4v servo, and the esc max is 6v, so it's possible that was the reason. I'm sending it to Traxxas to see what they say. I'll definitely update when I get the results
If it’s rated at 8.4 and your esc only puts out 6v the servo will only get what the esc puts out. 6v.If you buy a stronger more torque servo or faster it will provide more torque and speed at 6v. You won’t get the whole benefit of the servo if your esc can’t provide it. If you buy a new esc that can put out 8.4v but your servos can only handle 6.0v then you’ll have to make sure in the esc settings that you set it on 6.0v or the servo will burn out.
Man, my ESC and receiver both died on my Bronco less than 10 battery packs. Traxxas electronics are notorious for being trash. It’s almost mandatory to change out the electronics asap. Mine is currently running my old Enduro ESC.
I have similar buyers remorse.
I'm learning that this is common and expected.. Not cool Traxxas, NOT COOL 😑
Welcome to the world of Traxass, first upgrade I did to my Defender was get a traxass servo so its compatible with the rig. Then got 2 5800 batteries which are now puffing up :( ... Most likely will never buy another one in this life after the BS they pulled last year.
Not sure if you have delved into the world of 24ths just yet but I find them 1000x more fun then the 10ths. Cheaper, capable and highly moddable. Indoor courses are next level fun year round.
Ya man, it's a heck of a welcome 😅. I do dabble in the 24th and 18th scales also. I love them all 😁
@@RedsRCVlog Yea thats a terrible welcome by Traxass.. lol And that is awesome uve got the Micros. There is just something about that size that is just way more fun then a 10th to me :)
Stay positive and stay blessed. Had my brand new Kyosho USA-1 over 500 had a run away during break inn with new batteries hit a brick wall wide open. I feel your pain brother. ❤😊
It just sucks! There is no excuse for Traxxas making and releasing crap electronics with the price tag they have on them 💯💚🤙🤙🤙
@@RedsRCVlog i no! Thats why i say RTR is not ready to run but ready to replace. I have a brand new nitro slash . It is seized at top dead center. Never been ran. I put 3&1 in so it wouldnt. Went to break it in and turning fly wheel no piston. Tried heat . Oil . Having a time👍👊🏻🙏
The TRX-4 is a great rig. Well worth the money. Outside of the electronics it’s an extremely durable rig. I have put mine through the wringer for the past five years. I also bought mine, knowing that I was going to be replacing the electronics right away. The best budget set up that I have found is going to be the hobbywing 1080 ESC, HH 27T Trailmaster Sport, quality servo, and a RX/TX that is actually programmable. Me being low budget picking up the Flysky GT3C was a no-brainer. Good luck out there, brother! Keep up the great videos!
Thanks for the recommendations, and I'll definitely check it out.. I appreciate you watching and commenting. Thanks 💯🤙🤙
I have two I love mine. I’ve had them about a month. My tires did have flat spots they went away. Good luck, my friend.
I'm sure I'll love it when it's running correctly.. Thanks for watching 🤙🤙
I have a 2021 Bronco and a K10, only had to replace the motor in the Bronco so far lucky me. I do agree that stock electronics in a RTR are prone to a quick death, the company all do this makes you buy bigger better upgrades. Make your rig look better than the next guys. We are all victims of it. I have to many rigs and not enough time to drive them all, I sad panda.
Ya, it's a crazy cycle. It's just frustrating sometimes 😅
I love traxxas brand but their electronics is absolute garbage
Traxxas makes some nice rigs but definitely needs to step up their electronic game..
As per usual. I went through 2 before I learned my lesson. 😢🎉
Sometimes, we have to learn the hard way 😅. Thanks a ton for watching and commenting 💯🙏🤘🤘🤘
Any and I mean any rc vehicle I buy gets upgraded electronics….my go to combo is the HW fusion SE or pro for crawlers ..
I’m just not a fan of any factory electronics….yeah it’s stupid to have to do that but it’s better performance and more reliable.
When you replaced the servo did you put a BEC in? The servo in the last video was an 8v the traxxas ESC is max rated 6v
Omg I wasn't advised I had to and did not see that it was 8v.. Holy cow, it was my fault, huh! Thank you soooo much for pointing this out so I can learn from this mistake! I'll definitely be looking into this.. Thank you again 💯🙏
@@RedsRCVlog no problem a friend of mine had the exact same situation when he put an over powered servo in. I have been lucky and had the stock electronics for almost two years. Despite that with the pro scale light kit I still get brownouts because that ESC is running right at the edge of its capacity. As soon as anything fails I am replacing it all with a 2 in 1
I thought it said max was 9.4 or something.. Idk what I read now but I'm definitely looking into it now.. Thanks a ton 💯
I see the spec says 6 max now that I am looking myself. Thanks for catching that and making me aware!
@@RedsRCVlogHappy to help
That sucks dude.
It really does... Thanks for watching 🤙🤙
Traxxas electronic junk, get a fusion pro 2-1 system way better than the stock electronics.
Someone else recommended this also. I'll definitely look into that system. Thanks!
