Sorry I missed the live. Today is Cinco de Mayo, Greek Easter, my sister in law's birthday, and my anniversary! Busy busy day today. Having 30+ people over for a Greek feast tonight. Because Greeks are all about the food. So Ian, Arizona has a lot of beach, just no ocean to go with it. Karlee Porter is one of my favorite designers! Been a fan of hers from her start. I want to take her class so much!
Oh! Thank you for reminding me! I need to put a link to Karlee Porter's class and my code in the description. Glad you got to spend time with your family and enjoying a great weekend. See you next time!
Watching Replay. Went to Ziva's therapy visit to the memory care facility, she was missed over the last couple of weeks. Then had to cut the grass and get some vitamin D. Now catching up on the videos and sewing this afternoon.
@ian, I just finished the a place for everything bag. If you have any questions, let me know! I love making those bags. Working on the travel essentials and Round trip duffle right now. Randi Jones also does great videos!
Awesome, thank you! I bet there will be some thing I need help with. Love her patterns, but also find myself having to reread over and over again to understand.
Hi Ian! I love these 2 quilts! The purple is so pretty. I have a question if u don't mind? I'd like to know what size your first seam is when you attach the binding to your quilt onto the back...1/4" or 3/8". Second.. after you are finished binding entirely is there a line of stitching showing along the side of the binding on either side of the quilt? I'm trying to avoid the latter but if I can't I want it to blend into the quilt as much as possible. I saw Becca's binding video and she mentioned your binding video but this video is the only one I could find..no close ups. Thank you and great video!💕
I attach my bonding with a 1/4” seam allowance. When I do glue basting binding there’s a stitch line on the back of the quilt. When I do it like in this video, from the back to the front there is a stitch line on the front. Thanks Ian enjoyed the replay The Bernina 10D foot you referenced. Do you run the middle thingy on the side of the binding? Hope you can understand what im saying 🤪
Yes I do! I run the middle part against the edge of the binding on the front side of the quilt. This ensures that the needle will hit just next to the binding which catches the back of the binding. Check out my binding tutorial video on my page to see a close-up of me doing this.
Watching the replay. I’m so impressed that you can talk, keep up with the chat, and sew at the same time! I do well to just sew! 😁
Oh thank you! It takes some practice and I do still miss things sometimes. But I try my best!
Newby here. Illinois. Chicago has Oak Street Beach that we went to in the late 50s!
How cool. I’ll have to check it out.
Yes I follow her, I find her graffiti quilting awesome.
She’s amazing!

@@OffKilterCrafterIan thanks! Very helpful and much appreciated 👍
With a 3/8” seam how much before the corner do you stop? 1/4” or 3/8”
3/8” I believe.
How do I get the page of clues.
