This is just what I needed to see today..lol as I'm going through the atomic website and seeing which chassis I would like to build next. Awesome video
I am trying to put together track footage for each. I have to put my track away so we can use our gym in the garage. There is some footage of each car in previous videos I've posted. If your after good all round fun and being able to use different shells, amz with hyperbell steering upgrade is good. If you want a racer... Bz3. 👍🏽
Thanks for the comment, I couldn't find the lambo in green so bought a white one and sprayed it myself. Its one of my favourite shells and is usually on my sz. 👍🏽
im looking at getting an AMZ 4wd chassis , does it fit mini Z bodies? and which wheelbase? thank you for a great video. i already own a miniz but i hate the radio ithe whole idea is to put my futaba receiver
I ended up getting the AMZ, mostly for price, as this is my first car in this scale. Do you remember when building your AMZ if there was much slop in the driveshaft. I pressed the 8T gears on the end until they bottomed out, but I still get about 1mm slop back and forth in the driveshaft. Is that OK? Should I try to push the driveshaft through the 8T gears further? Mind you, I haven't put in the ball diffs yet because I forgot to get ball diff grease ... my kit came with un-assembled ball diffs.
Great video. My son and I are coming from 1/10 off-road racing (Associated B6.1 and Tekno EB410). Looking to get into 1/28 scale with a quality built kit. I was originally looking at GL Racing GLR or GLA, but they are not sold locally. We are looking at the AMZ since it is shaft driven and that is what our 1/10 cars are. Not sure if this is an older platform though ... I would like to get replacement parts easily. Locally they sell only the BZ3 now. Is the belt drive more finicky to maintain or is it more reliable than the shaft drive? My son wants something that goes fast, and I need something I can control easily (since I am just starting).
The bz3 is a good car. Easy to Control on bigger track. I've had mine without issue. The older version were problematic. The amz is an older platform but solid. If you get the amz you will need the hyperbell steering upgrade. Amz parts are OK to get but I can see them phasing bits out. You can't get the 90mm conversion. That being said it's parts are fairly solid, I've had to replace the diff and that's the same as a mini z awd diff or mini q. The amz is fast(does get torque steer) just if you want bz3 stability you will need to widen the track width and use it 98mm set up. If bz3 is available locally then you have easy access to parts. I have to order amz/bz3 parts from miracle mart. Takes weeks. Happy racing.
I use to do that lot for aggressive drifting less so on the track now. The rwd drfit cars all have it as I helps to control the drift and steering angle better.
@@GarageMiniRCUK Cool. I noticed the rear Toe In on a couple of the cars. Nice collection there. I just ordered a DRZ v2 yesterday and started my GLD build yesterday.
Thanks man, just finished the repair on my evo.... Basically have to disassemble the whole car.. Hopefully I'll post it then I can do a comparison with grip tyres with bz3.
It looks like bz3 is way more refined and might fit. Just not sure if the steering geometry will match up. As bz3 has better turning angle. Is your AMZ stock or hyperbell...? As it won't work with stock for sure.

Garage Mini RC UK I’m pretty stuck on the AMZ with hyper bell crank. I like drifting ✌🏾
I have the same green lambo mini-z A.S.C. body! YT recommended your video to me :)

Great informative video. Would like to see the Sz on a race track with grippy tires.
Coming soon.... To many cars... Getting there...

Amz 94 -98 mm out of box grest with mini z bodies. Get hyper bell steering upgrade .
These little rc cars are awesome! 👍
addictive too !

Yes don't push gears any futher. Once diffs and motor mount are in place it usually keeps it stable.i used copper slip grease on my diffs.
Sweet 911 GT-3-RS....my favorite car. I personally would own a 911 Carrera 4-S
you are so ahead of your time man i cant imagine what your up too now hahha
those clips along chassis sides allowing you to attach mini z bodies.....what are those called man got a part number or point me in right direction ?
Side mounts? On the shell or the actual car?
@@GarageMiniRCUK the red alu on chassis side allowing you to clip on mini z bodies
Yes they are optional extras from miracle mart. Got them a few years ago. Let me see if I can find it
@@GarageMiniRCUK alloy body mounts you called em, sweet thanks. So these are atomic specific?
Yes you could adapt them for a wl or soemthing like it I suppose

It looks like to me that most of those cars have a lot of toe out in the front. Do you set them up that way or is that just the way they are designed?
I use to do that lot for aggressive drifting less so on the track now. The rwd drfit cars all have it as I helps to control the drift and steering angle better.

I was looking at the Carisma 8000kv. The default atomic esc can handle it?
I use a Carlson 8500kv just fine , I have tried a 12000kv which worked fine .
Man you have a beautiful collection!

Does the knuckle for the BZ3 fit the AMZ?
I will check for you . I don't think so .
@@GarageMiniRCUK Thanks! Because i can't find the alu knuckle for amz in stock anywhere but the BZ3 is in stock.
I'll have a look tonight when I get home.
Any success?

Great video as always, thank you!
Would you consider an AMR as a "budget" drift car (fitting a gyro) instead of DRZ?
I have one, I've tried it. Doesnt work so good. Unless steering can be modded. Food for thought...
@@GarageMiniRCUK Good point. Would prefer to not go down the modding road.. any recommendations for a rwd drift chassis around 70€?
@@ricardos4152 I've seen a wl k989 toys modded for £40 with about that spent on it. But it's a
lot of modding. Unless you can find a used older drz v1
I guess it is kind of off topic but do anybody know a good website to stream newly released series online?
@Javion Cohen flixportal :D
So the amr 2wd is the best drift version ig you wanna safe money.I bet you can get the steering to the drz Level.
