You need a more dependable plug to ensure maximum pressure is achieved. I suggest using a plug that can be manually released so you can hold all the pressure until you are ready to release it.
I always get the store brand. Its cheaper and Kroger boxes are actually a pleasant cream with red curvy writing so look nicer 🤗💜 But you're right no one speaks of it and they have no major competitors 🤔🤷🏾♀️
This was entertaining, good job. This is how the rocket program started long ago... testing flight. Next thing you know, you'll have longer thin tubes that hold the same volume as the large 5Gal container and FINS for stabilization. Then comes the funnel on the end to increase force out per volume all while fighting gravity, pressure and atmospheric conditions =] Gravity will always render a short rocket flight if not fired directly vertical and held in that position by engineering.
If you just want sheer power a nozzle would probably make a much greater difference (increases the velocity of the outlet gases therefore giving them a much higher momentum and therefore propelling the rocket more) though a nose cone (and fins to create more lateral stability) would also help alleviate some air resistance, if shot at an angle would even help generate lift.
Talk about taking the bottle rocket challenge to a whole new level. The 5 gallon water container bottle rocket was amazing and using a potato was pretty ingenious. 2 thumb 👍 up
I really wanna see if y'all can complete this challenge Make a rocket capable of staging at least once. Doesn't matter how it's launched, how the second stage will leave the first stage and continue it's course leaving the excess mass behind, and be able to land the second stage via parachute(s) If y'all do decide to do this, I'd suggest a maximum of 2 stages, not included booster sep.
Ok, minor tuning. Pressurize the big 5 gallon jug with compressor to the point it blows up, note pressure at which it blew up. Create orifice slightly smaller. Create plug that pops right under the pressure of bottle bowls up. And put as much of mixture in there as possible.
The base doesn't help. It just keeps vinegar from spraying all over. For that pressure to do anything, you'd need to put it in a tube, like a gun barrel.
Now I know why NASA can't go back to the moon. It will cost way too many 🥔 potatoes. And by now, they must be already high on baking soda and drunk on vinegar. 😃
Or NASA is probably like, "Nah. That's not green energy. Too much CO2 will cause global warming. Besides, we can't afford that much of patotoes, we'll starve!"
That's how you know you need to click to somewhere else. Far away. Not only does he provide his recycled view of what will work but it does not. It's a failure in the annals of science. Explained poorly by people who can't see the natural world as it is in their constructed science of failed toys today.
Nick seems like such a fun and nice friend to have.. I want to have a stem person friend who loves to experiment like Nick Uhas so bad cuz then can join in on all the fun but not have to figure out the smart stuff and get to partake in the fun (and learn things too)
Add fins... 3 of them, canted to produce spin. and a nose cone with a bit of weight. These additions should stabilize the flight and get you significantly more distance.
It would be interesting if you put a sleeve inside the tank to keep the fuel in the vessel as the gas expands. Something simple like one of those curling cutting boards
Have you tried keeping the lid on but making a hole in it and sealing that up? I came up with a theory that the smaller the area of relief, the longer the 'burn' and therefore the higher/further the rocket will go!
I like the fact that this shows how you can have honest, good, clean fun with your friends and or family. Getting your kids involved in something like this is memories they’ll cherish forever and maybe get them interested in chemistry, aerodynamics and science altogether (which in this day and age we definitely need).
I like it . It’s ideas to help the boredom of the staying away from the COVID-19 being out in the open air and more importantly way away from people and crowds. COVID-19 free fun keep up the good work. Seems safe but anyone under the proper age should have safety first and parental guidance with the drills and stuff ya know. Play it safe and COVID-19 free ideas.
Lucky I'm not Taras, I'd try to Suuuuuuuuuuuuuue, cuz saying that catch phrase before putting your glasses on has been his trademark opening for yearz.
You should make a video on the other product of the reaction, sodium silicate. It has all kinds of uses, but my favorite is making hot ice. You could do the world's biggest hot ice experiment. It would be great! But since it was my idea, if you do it I'd like a shout out if possible. If not no worries. 😂😉
We need more Nick Uhas! When will we get to see season two of the Netflix show you host? You said that you wrapped filming earlier this year. I'm so excited! Soon??
Your rockets would go much further with stabilizers. Your rockets are loosing energy tumbling. Add some weight to the nose, and some stability fins to control the tork forces, and you should get far more distance.
Guys we use a rubber mallet to get the potatoes in. If you do it rt you can plug it with one good whack. You eventually learn the proper force to use. We use to do it the same way by just putting your weight down on it but when you're not that heavy to begin with it tends to make things a bit aggravating...lol
I'm glad this ad turn out to be very entertaining.
