ateez was the first group put together by their label kq entertainment!!! hongjoong (the leader/captain and rapper) was their very first trainee and they signed him on because he sent in a couple of his songs but they only opened the email a year later and liked what they heard so they reached out to him!!! block b (debuted 2011) is also under kq entertainment but they were first under n managed by stardom ent. another small label. in 2013, they filed a lawsuit against them and left the company after kq's current representative decided to establish a new agency called seven seasons in 2013, then establishing kq entertainment in 2016 to manage other talent like ateez's main producing group Edenary. it was because of hongjoong that they decided to debut an idol group and started recruiting more trainees! hongjoong was alone for 6 months before the next trainee arrived who happened to be yunho (1/3 of ateez's main dancers + vocalist) >< so yeah! technically ateez is the very first group debuted under kq entertainment!!! @skye Block B was under a different label then left their label to create Seven Seasons in 2013, in 2016 Seven Seasons became a subsidiary under KQ. I think KQ was more of a management team rather than a music label at the time until they decided to make their own idol group. ATEEZ is KQ’s first group that they started as a new label and they were never promoted as Block B juniors. (they have met some Block B members though at KQ).

The member that stood out for you on enternal sunshine is Wooyoung and he has his Studio Choom Artist Of The Month and you should react to it. I’m still recover from it and it’s almost been a year 😂🥰
On the note of how involved they are: Hongjoong (smile rapper) produces a lot, him and Mingi (deep voice rapper) write every single one of their own raps. The others are more involved in the performance aspects. They have an in house choreo team (bb trippin, a dance crew who choreographs for them as well as others but ateez use them exclusively even when receiving choreo from others it's vetted by bbt) but time and again they've showcased that ateez are allowed to change, add, alter, subtract moves to better fit their character's emotions or story. Bbt and ateez are almost a team when it comes to this. Their storyline is so confusing to explain lmao but in my opinion you can piece together more if you watch their performances- which change btw. They are truly performers and over time as the story progresses so does the choreo of the song (little things that ppl like us who notice little things appreciate haha). San (the one who does the ending move with wooyoung in eternal sunshine- Wooyoung was the one you gravitated towards) has been said to have a knack for composing/lyricism and Hongjoong wants him to participate in the future with that. Yeosang is also learning the ropes on composing. They really heavily put emphasis on their performances, how lyrics fit with their dancing as well as how they interact with each other on stage. There's a narrative going on whenever they perform. And unlike other groups they are fully aware of their concept and where it's going. Random tidbit but related: they're allowed to change their hair when they want and how they want, as long as it's not too out of concept. Like Hongjoong has cut his own hair, they are always on their messaging app talking with atiny about their fashion choices and their music interests and sometimes will give insight into why they danced a certain move a certain way and what emotion they hoped to elicit. I info dumped sorry but I feel like you GET IT when it comes to them and I love to see it.
I have been waiting for this 🧡 Hongjoong, the captain/leader, and Mingi, the rapper with the deep voice, are actually quite involved, i guess Hongjoong even more so with producing than Mingi, but they both write lyrics for their raps. Hongjoong also has some amazing covers where he takes songs that mean much to him and rearranges them and even writes original rap verses for them. The videos are amazing and mostly have short clips of him working on it, while telling us how he came up with the idea or the emotions he wants to portray in his version. He recently dropped a cover of a song called 'Lemon tree' and I highly recommend watching it, because it’s depicts his amazing vocals and musical talent perfectly. He lives for art and it shows 🧡 'AURORA' is also one of his songs and he is so proud of it, and us ATINY too, of course. It’s a favorite amongst us and has a beautiful mv with gorgeous visuals and amazing choreo (what else is new, amiright?), you should definitely check it out! PS. i am so so so looking forward when you react to some of their softer b-sides, because - don’t take this the wrong way haha - i want to see you cry when you see how beautiful and comforting their lyrics are 😭

Loyalty is dead and gone lol. A lot of us gave up a long time ago. The little rapper with the high voice, Hongjoong is my bias. The one who keeps catching your attention in ES, that's Wooyoung. Pirate King was their double debut track with Treasure. And your right they don't need much. They are incredible. They actually made the dance for PK with little help which is really cool. Also Hongjoong and Mingi (the rappers) both write their own raps and Hongjoong has made songs for the albums like Aurora! I love love seeing you fall in love with them!

Fantastic to see a part four of this series. They really are visionaries in so many ways. They are the only (current) group in their main company; KQ has Block B (whom ATEEZ members consider sunbaenims (seniors)) under a sublabel of the main, and it was a contract acquisition versus a creation for Block B. KQ also reps several soloists. As others have pointed out, the group began because our ship's captain, Hong Joong (the amazing one in the red jacket at the end of Pirate King), had sent in a tape as an audition, and they thought they should make an idol group around them. Pirate King was one of their two debut songs (Treasure was the other) that they filmed on a budget in Morocco. Their production team is lead by Eden, an amazing artist in his own right, who has formed a production team around him and is a mentor to Hong Joong as he develops his own skills and talents. Make no mistake, these men are very, very talented. Any of them could be leads in any other group, but in ATEEZ they're a really cohesive, supportive unit. I'd highly recommend Aurora, From, and Dancing Like Butterfly Wings to see the ways they really create and connect, and Hong Joong was very heavily involved in Aurora and From writing/production. Four of the members have had acting roles, and as everyone suggested, DO check out Wooyoung's Studio Choom Artist of the Month, because there's a reason he was chosen and was the first 4th gen male chosen. Thanks for acknowledging the big3 copying atz, you're one of the few reactors that have said or mention something about it and being straightforward with it too, Ateez are really special, they have built this amazing world concept about pirates and even got people against this concept calling it dumb, it's sad that a big3 copied that and they get praises and stuff like "we've never seen such an amazing concept", it's just sad and unfair.

Both EDEN and MADDOX are artists themselves 6. You know what I love about Ateez yes they're so unique and they also have this confidence about them that pulls you in and adds to the Ateez flavor, but its not just an airy confidence thinking they're better than anyone, its a humble type of confidence that they have because they know how much hard work they've put in and trust that their efforts & passion will carry them forward

Fun fact! Wooyoung left BigHit with Yeosang to join KQ. Wooyoung was said to have been a killer trainee and speculated to debut around the time TXT did. But Yeosang was his best friend all their trainee days (7 years) and literally promised each other they would debut. And they did! I am so happy they landed in Ateez, even as a HUGE BigHit fan. They couldn't have fit anywhere better. And KQ is another fantastic company. 🥰🥰 Edit: Pirate King was a MONSTER debut. You can see how they've always been this insane. Their power is unmatched. I agree with you saying it's the little details that put Ateez apart. I don't know if you noticed ( I didn't for ages) but during the whole of the Pirate King MV the camera is rocking from side to side like they are on a boat. Subtle but clever. There is a really new guide out called 'A Guide to the Pirate Kings: Ateez 2022 by Mia is Fine which is very informative. The other 2 guides recommended by other people are also good though (allthe kennys & Ateez Greece) .
Oh if you think ATEEZ themselves are enough to make a video, then you need to check out next Hala Hala MV. You are not ready! Also Say my name, Treasure and Illusion are still left as well as their newest, Don't Stop MV (it's on Universe channel) plus Japanese MV's. Not that you necessarily need to have a bias, but from what I've seen ATEEZ seems to be a group where the fans struggle a lot to only have 1 bias. I myself have 3, Seonghwa, Hongjoong and Yeosang, and it's sooooo common among atinys to have multiple biases or just be ot8. 😄 ATEEZ have amazingly elaborate storyline as well and they have been part of the creative process of their music and story since the beginning, like the members were interviewed and some of the stuff in their fictional storyline is actually their real experiences. Though their production team, Edenary, does most of the music production several members take part on it as well. And yes I'm excited for you to get to know their personalities (they are bunch of weirdos with hard of gold) and see their dance practices and live performances, because you haven't seen even a fraction what theae guys can do on stage, MV's can't show that. I just went to their concert in London few weeks ago and I have been atiny for over 2 years and still I wasn't prepared how good they are live in real life. They are on their own level.
I think they lyrics work so well and often hit so hard because they aren't songs bought from a catalogue, Ateez are involved in the creative process on all fronts and their production team knows them very well and loves them very much. Hongjoong is the most involved in the actual composing and producing, to the point that he often sleeps in the studio, both rappers write their own lyrics and all members are expected to give input and feedback. BTW, I strongly recommend watching some recent concert fancams for these songs. Eternal Sunshine is super cute, Thanxx is so much more explosive live, especially Mingi, and Pirate King, their debut, acquired so many body rolls and hip thrusts over the years :P

I'm excited for you to get to know the members a little bit better! Yes, they have amazing charisma in their performances, but learning more about them individually will show you a completely different side to them. Warning, they are crazy and chaotic. I would also highly recommend watching their relay dances at some point, whether you do that before or after watching dance practices is up to you. Watching the relays lets you see them dance but also just mess around a little and genuinely having fun. I'm excited to keep watching your videos!

You haven't watched Hala Hala and Say My Name yet. Those are gonna blow your mind. Hala Hala was the queen of concepts. I had never seen anything like that in Kpop before Ateez. I hope you react to those. And the guy you pointed out was Wooyoung. As others recommended already, his studio choom is LETHAL. And might I just add, you're spitting facts. Ateez has that spice in them which is the main thing that pulls fans in. I think that speaks loads about how these guys are just pushing through in a tough as fuck industry. The fact that they are rivalling big 3 + hybe groups constantly and slowly making more of their mark, makes me proud.
If you want to watch a guide, I recommend listening to some more of their music first because almost all updated guides include a lot of their music for obvious reasons. However, if you are okay with hearing small snippets or are confident in your knowledge of the Ateez discography, many Atinys will recommend the ETINY guide. I would as well because that guide is brilliant, but it is a little out of date now, as a lot of big things have happened to them in the last two years since the guide was posted. ateez was the first group put together by their label kq entertainment!!! hongjoong (the leader/captain and rapper) was their very first trainee and they signed him on because he sent in a couple of his songs but they only opened the email a year later and liked what they heard so they reached out to him!!! block b (debuted 2011) is also under kq entertainment but they were first under n managed by stardom ent. another small label. in 2013, they filed a lawsuit against them and left the company after kq's current representative decided to establish a new agency called seven seasons in 2013, then establishing kq entertainment in 2016 to manage other talent like ateez's main producing group Edenary. it was because of hongjoong that they decided to debut an idol group and started recruiting more trainees! hongjoong was alone for 6 months before the next trainee arrived who happened to be yunho (1/3 of ateez's main dancers + vocalist) >< so yeah! technically ateez is the very first group debuted under kq entertainment!!!

@skye Block B was under a different label then left their label to create Seven Seasons in 2013, in 2016 Seven Seasons became a subsidiary under KQ. I think KQ was more of a management team rather than a music label at the time until they decided to make their own idol group. ATEEZ is KQ’s first group that they started as a new label and they were never promoted as Block B juniors. (they have met some Block B members though at KQ).

The member that stood out for you on enternal sunshine is Wooyoung and he has his Studio Choom Artist Of The Month and you should react to it. I’m still recover from it and it’s almost been a year 😂🥰
On the note of how involved they are: Hongjoong (smile rapper) produces a lot, him and Mingi (deep voice rapper) write every single one of their own raps. The others are more involved in the performance aspects. They have an in house choreo team (bb trippin, a dance crew who choreographs for them as well as others but ateez use them exclusively even when receiving choreo from others it's vetted by bbt) but time and again they've showcased that ateez are allowed to change, add, alter, subtract moves to better fit their character's emotions or story. Bbt and ateez are almost a team when it comes to this. Their storyline is so confusing to explain lmao but in my opinion you can piece together more if you watch their performances- which change btw. They are truly performers and over time as the story progresses so does the choreo of the song (little things that ppl like us who notice little things appreciate haha).
San (the one who does the ending move with wooyoung in eternal sunshine- Wooyoung was the one you gravitated towards) has been said to have a knack for composing/lyricism and Hongjoong wants him to participate in the future with that. Yeosang is also learning the ropes on composing.
They really heavily put emphasis on their performances, how lyrics fit with their dancing as well as how they interact with each other on stage. There's a narrative going on whenever they perform. And unlike other groups they are fully aware of their concept and where it's going. Random tidbit but related: they're allowed to change their hair when they want and how they want, as long as it's not too out of concept. Like Hongjoong has cut his own hair, they are always on their messaging app talking with atiny about their fashion choices and their music interests and sometimes will give insight into why they danced a certain move a certain way and what emotion they hoped to elicit.

I have been waiting for this 🧡 Hongjoong, the captain/leader, and Mingi, the rapper with the deep voice, are actually quite involved, i guess Hongjoong even more so with producing than Mingi, but they both write lyrics for their raps. Hongjoong also has some amazing covers where he takes songs that mean much to him and rearranges them and even writes original rap verses for them. The videos are amazing and mostly have short clips of him working on it, while telling us how he came up with the idea or the emotions he wants to portray in his version. He recently dropped a cover of a song called 'Lemon tree' and I highly recommend watching it, because it’s depicts his amazing vocals and musical talent perfectly. He lives for art and it shows 🧡 'AURORA' is also one of his songs and he is so proud of it, and us ATINY too, of course. It’s a favorite amongst us and has a beautiful mv with gorgeous visuals and amazing choreo (what else is new, amiright?), you should definitely check it out! PS. i am so so so looking forward when you react to some of their softer b-sides, because - don’t take this the wrong way haha - i want to see you cry when you see how beautiful and comforting their lyrics are 😭

Pirate King was their double debut track with Treasure. And your right they don't need much. They are incredible. They actually made the dance for PK with little help which is really cool. Also Hongjoong and Mingi (the rappers) both write their own raps and Hongjoong has made songs for the albums like Aurora! I love love seeing you fall in love with them!

Fantastic to see a part four of this series. They really are visionaries in so many ways. They are the only (current) group in their main company; KQ has Block B (whom ATEEZ members consider sunbaenims (seniors)) under a sublabel of the main, and it was a contract acquisition versus a creation for Block B. KQ also reps several soloists. As others have pointed out, the group began because our ship's captain, Hong Joong (the amazing one in the red jacket at the end of Pirate King), had sent in a tape as an audition, and they thought they should make an idol group around them. Pirate King was one of their two debut songs (Treasure was the other) that they filmed on a budget in Morocco. Their production team is lead by Eden, an amazing artist in his own right, who has formed a production team around him and is a mentor to Hong Joong as he develops his own skills and talents. Make no mistake, these men are very, very talented. Any of them could be leads in any other group, but in ATEEZ they're a really cohesive, supportive unit. I'd highly recommend Aurora, From, and Dancing Like Butterfly Wings to see the ways they really create and connect, and Hong Joong was very heavily involved in Aurora and From writing/production. Four of the members have had acting roles, and as everyone suggested, DO check out Wooyoung's Studio Choom Artist of the Month, because there's a reason he was chosen and was the first 4th gen male chosen. Luckily, you still have lots of things to see and watch with them. Thanks for this reaction!

Thanks for acknowledging the big3 copying atz, you're one of the few reactors that have said or mention something about it and being straightforward with it too, Ateez are really special, they have built this amazing world concept about pirates and even got people against this concept calling it dumb, it's sad that a big3 copied that and they get praises and stuff like "we've never seen such an amazing concept", it's just sad and unfair.

Mingi is involved with songwriting too. I believe he writes all of his rap in all of their songs. Hongjoong and Mingi are the two rappers.

Fun fact! Wooyoung left BigHit with Yeosang to join KQ. Wooyoung was said to have been a killer trainee and speculated to debut around the time TXT did. But Yeosang was his best friend all their trainee days (7 years) and literally promised each other they would debut. And they did! I am so happy they landed in Ateez, even as a HUGE BigHit fan. They couldn't have fit anywhere better. And KQ is another fantastic company. 🥰🥰

I agree with you saying it's the little details that put Ateez apart. I don't know if you noticed ( I didn't for ages) but during the whole of the Pirate King MV the camera is rocking from side to side like they are on a boat. Subtle but clever. There is a really new guide out called 'A Guide to the Pirate Kings: Ateez 2022 by Mia is Fine which is very informative. The other 2 guides recommended by other people are also good though (allthe kennys & Ateez Greece) .

Not that you necessarily need to have a bias, but from what I've seen ATEEZ seems to be a group where the fans struggle a lot to only have 1 bias. I myself have 3, Seonghwa, Hongjoong and Yeosang, and it's sooooo common among atinys to have multiple biases or just be ot8. 😄
ATEEZ have amazingly elaborate storyline as well and they have been part of the creative process of their music and story since the beginning, like the members were interviewed and some of the stuff in their fictional storyline is actually their real experiences. Though their production team, Edenary, does most of the music production several members take part on it as well.
And yes I'm excited for you to get to know their personalities (they are bunch of weirdos with hard of gold) and see their dance practices and live performances, because you haven't seen even a fraction what theae guys can do on stage, MV's can't show that. I just went to their concert in London few weeks ago and I have been atiny for over 2 years and still I wasn't prepared how good they are live in real life. They are on their own level.

I think they lyrics work so well and often hit so hard because they aren't songs bought from a catalogue, Ateez are involved in the creative process on all fronts and their production team knows them very well and loves them very much. Hongjoong is the most involved in the actual composing and producing, to the point that he often sleeps in the studio, both rappers write their own lyrics and all members are expected to give input and feedback.
BTW, I strongly recommend watching some recent concert fancams for these songs. Eternal Sunshine is super cute, Thanxx is so much more explosive live, especially Mingi, and Pirate King, their debut, acquired so many body rolls and hip thrusts over the years :P

I'm excited for you to get to know the members a little bit better! Yes, they have amazing charisma in their performances, but learning more about them individually will show you a completely different side to them. Warning, they are crazy and chaotic. I would also highly recommend watching their relay dances at some point, whether you do that before or after watching dance practices is up to you. Watching the relays lets you see them dance but also just mess around a little and genuinely having fun. I'm excited to keep watching your videos!

You haven't watched Hala Hala and Say My Name yet. Those are gonna blow your mind. Hala Hala was the queen of concepts. I had never seen anything like that in Kpop before Ateez. I hope you react to those.
And the guy you pointed out was Wooyoung. As others recommended already, his studio choom is LETHAL. And might I just add, you're spitting facts. Ateez has that spice in them which is the main thing that pulls fans in. I think that speaks loads about how these guys are just pushing through in a tough as fuck industry. The fact that they are rivalling big 3 + hybe groups constantly and slowly making more of their mark, makes me proud.

If you want to watch a guide, I recommend listening to some more of their music first because almost all updated guides include a lot of their music for obvious reasons. However, if you are okay with hearing small snippets or are confident in your knowledge of the Ateez discography, many Atinys will recommend the ETINY guide. I would as well because that guide is brilliant, but it is a little out of date now, as a lot of big things have happened to them in the last two years since the guide was posted.

edit: Oh, and before I forget, the member with mint and black hair you mentioned a lot in Eternal Sunshine (2:46) is Jung Wooyoung, he is one of Ateez's main dancers and Atiny often refers to him as the "problem child" because of his goofy and mischievous personality. But he's incredibly hardworking and kind, and he's even the first 4th generation boy-group artist to be featured as Studio Choom's Artist of the Month.
