I fr cannot tell the difference between the 2 Styles, I feel like the reason people don’t like the new one is nostalgia. Makes sense, but if we are going down that path, then look at a song which actually has a superior version. I knew you were trouble OG is objectively better than TV, and I think everyone agrees on that, and this might be cus of nostalgia, cus I have always listened to this before becoming a fan. I don’t agree with IKYWT. I Know Places, Wonderland and Welcome To New York are CLEAR improvements from the OG album for me. All go well… obviously, and Red went much harder on Red TV. For Speak Now, I think the whole album is better honestly, same with Fearless. IMO, OG 1898 is better than TV but he rest of the re-recordings are better. 1989 TV only is the way that it is because Taylor couldn’t get Max Martin back.
If you can't tell the difference you either don't know the songs we'll enough, or are not quite understanding of riffs, cuz as a guitarist that riff ain't nothing like the original
@@musicgamer2719 it’s a song not everything has to be that deep. I enjoy a good tune. Also no I can tell the difference between the 2 songs I just don’t take the new production as a bad thing. I was exaggerating.
I know this discussion was quite some time ago, but ill give my perspective. I don't really like Style TV specially because of the drop in the chorus, the OG seems so much powerful while TV just seems like a louder version of the beginning of the song. For the Taylors Version project, Taylor has been reaching for a more clear version of the songs and I dont think that always is a good thing, now I feel like the riff, the production overall is so laidback and her vocals way too forward. Max martin really does make a difference in here.
I agree with you on the voice. It’s improved since she recorded the first one. But it’s really obvious for me what the issue is. What the OG version had that TV didn’t have is time to make it perfect (and Max Martin). When she released 1989 for the first time she aimed for album of the year. Tv was just made so she would own the masters. The production is choppy, you can also hear how they mixed the recordings from different takes but not mixed them well enough. It jumps from vers to chorus on the tv version and I really just hate how they botched the “that you’ve been out and about with some other girl” moment. I can stream almost all of the TV tracks except for a few and Style tv is definitely on the banned list.
I really think it depends on which version you heard first and maybe was listening to some time. I just can't listen to TV version of Style after few years of OG, but I have the same opinion about Out of the woods OG and TV versions, and as I know swiftie prefer TV, so I think it's just really depends on different people/opinions/time to listen/etc. I really think Style and Out of the woods TV versions are ruined, but also happy to see people like you enjoying them!
@@follow_you_around honestly I think I fully agree, I know a couple of other people who hear style TV first as well so aren't too bothered by the difference, so I really do think that plays a part. We have both to listen to though and everyone can listen to the version they prefer!!
Fun useless fact, I did not listen to 1989OG album exception to some of my favs but only live performances since she started the re-records. Love 1989 TV🩵
Her baby voice (OG) sounds different on many of the embellishments and emotional parts. She used to let her voice crack more often and the growl…. It’s just not the same. BUT she sounds better now so those few differences aren’t as important. Her voice has really grown and become quite beautiful. Her low notes are 🤌🏻
@@Hortonfantastic4 because I've started with all the TVs, this is the first time I've really gotten to notice how rich and mature her tone is now (which I love) it is sooo cool to be able to go back and listen to the differences though
I get that you prefer the adlibs and mixing on the rerecorded version, but they're still factually worse, specially the general mixing. We could talk about the vocal delivery, but that's the only thing that's somewhat acceptable giving that she's older now + she is not in the same place emotionally that she was when first recording the song. But every aspect of musical composition and production is worse in 99% of the rerecordings (specifically the pop tracks), and that's not even debatable. Anyways, loved the video. Excited to see your reaction on the OOTW and New Romantics OG versions + MVs!
@@apostrofo4269 oh okay really? I definitely prefer the production and mixing of the sounds sonically on the OG, but it just isn't different enough for me to really be too bothered about it - but I get told I'm wrong all the time on things like this 😭😭
I mean, it's normal to like things that other people don't like. Liking something doesn't make that thing factually good, and not liking something doesn't make that thing factually bad. The musical aspects of production extend far away from just "sounding good" tho. The mastering engineer is at most fault, because tracks like Clean and OOTW that remained with the original producers, still have mixing and procution issues and donwgrades, aswell as removed (or added) elements and loss of fidelity in comparition to the OGs. Take 'Wonderland TV' as an example: On the last chorus, Christopher ADDED loud and poorly mixed hi-hats, something that was never there on the OG version. It sounds bad, and it didn't need to be there. There's also a production error on the end of the second verse, on the vocal production. Things like this, aswell as loss of production complexity and removal of tiny details make the songs sound less fuller and more amateurishly produced.
First thing is Taylor is rerecoding these so she can own them again as a real fan I will never support stolen version and Style TV isn’t ruined and their hatred of Taylor’s Version style is ridiculous one Jack wasn’t even on style he never was that’s one of the complaints and 2 they sound the same except for the guitar in the beginning.
