  • New Riser for my Lift Chair
So it's been almost 3 years since I could get in-and-out of my left chair with no problems. Getting in it has not been too big a win issue however getting out of the lift chair I have had to call the fire department to help me get up.
My buddy Tom made these wooden lifts to go under the cnature and it helps out so much.
What has taken on average 30 to 45 minutes to get out of a chair was done in a 2 and a 1/2 minute video.
My thanks to Tom for all his help.

Hey John..... we love you. You are awesome!, Well, I had several ideas that might have worked, but this was simplest, easiest way for me to do it. It is .”Hell for stout”, everything is wood glued plus 2 1/2” long deck screws. I predrilled the top boards to keep the screws from splitting the boards. On the very top one I took a “paddle “ drill bit and made an indentation for for the chair legs to recess in. It looks like we won’t have any tipping issues. It reminds me of the scooter ramp that Alan L. and I built for your old Ford van several years ago. I remember it folding and standing straight up when in transport mode. Seems like we had some kind of bungee cord “lift system “ that helped you get it lifted into transport position. But hell, I can’t remember back that far. Love ya you old 11 old scout leader. I don’t know what kind of Beer those guy’s that recruited us 2 “cripple’d “ people to be Scout leaders, but it gave me the chance to really get to know you. I have always loved your sense of humor. “Let’s go numb’er and dumb’er”
