Sad That We Have No More Real Big Music icons Anymore That Play Real Funky Music With Real Instruments..Prince Was The Last Of The Mohicans ...I Miss My Boy ! And I Approve This Message !! SPR19 O( + - >
Prince was a jump in and hold on for your life type of music generator, and some of the turns in his work, if you weren't paying attention you would think that the whole song had changed. Now that's what makes him so much fun to ride with. Yes I miss my hero Prince,, because he was the very best that EVER Did it.
He’s ALIVE IN MY HOUSE. I EDUCATED my sons on real talent, real music, the Soul sings. The most talented artist are very far between. Now in days Fake!!!
He made so much amazing music in 1986, it had to have been the most prolific time in his career. He finished the Parade album, and recorded most of the music that was to be edited into Sign O' The Times, The Black Album, Camille, Crystal Ball, and then all this extra unreleased stuff, while touring Europe at the same time, it's insane!
The one thing about Prince was he did not need producers to get from point A to point Z. He did it all himself, writing, producing, playing instruments, etc. The total package and we may never see another one like him for decades to come.
This takes me back to that beautiful funky music I use to listen to back in the 70's. His style of dressing. Those platform shoes The afros Those were some good, good times. Thank you sweet Prince for giving us your beautiful music. RIP.
Late to the party, but so happy to be hear!! I love me some Prince jams and rehearsals as much as concerts, maybe more..Can't get enough of listening to him direct the band.."somebody got ta solo or somethin'!" and the pics........this is great, thanks so much!! " keep goin', right there".
Great Job I really enjoyed watching the awesome flicks, you have captured the man with a million(looks) faces in a variety of pictures ,and this song i never heard it before now , i dig i dig . Prince would be proud ............... I Love when people represent him in his truth and light. #KeepingIt100%
This was fantastic, thank you so much!!!! Hands down the best montage I've seen of him, ever. You've done an amazing job & I'm so grateful to have seen it!!!
One of my all-time favorite unreleased jams--a classic! Fabulous photo gallery. Honestly, the best I've seen with such a comprehensive array of shots spanning so many eras in his life and career, all in chronological order, right up through 2016. You really did the brother justice
The Time ripped this up on their Pandemonium CD. The Time with Morris Day at the front gave Prince and the Revolution all they wanted when it came to funky and cool....
This is essentially a rehearsal instrumental which Prince later (cleverly) overdubbed the vocals - you can hear prince shout instructions to the band (underneath), also there are many humorous references to the band making mistakes ("see if it works, does it work?")
I disagree with your assessment of what this is. You appear to think the band are actually making mistakes. I don't think so at all. It seems clear to me that he is pretending the band are out of his control, and are following cues from someone or something other than him. He is humourously pretending that he is not approving of what they are doing, but they are actually doing exactly what he wants them to. He could have achieved this effect in a number of ways; he could have instructed them beforehand to ignore whatever he says but to follow his hand signals; or it could have been decided beforehand exactly what the band are going to play, so even though it sounds spontaneous it is actually carefully composed prior to the performance; or he could have overdubbed his complaints about what the band are doing afterwards. I think that this seems to be a performance of a song that was already fully composed. I've been listening to this track since the 80s, and this is what I have always considered it to be. This track remains unreleased even though all the other unreleased tracks I know of from this time period have now been released. It's so far superior to the later, very different version of the song that was done for The Time's _Pandemonium_ album, in my opinion.
I have this on a bootleg vinyl from waaaaaay back in the day! It was sped up though...and therefore had the Camille sounding voice! For many many years I thought that was how Prince recorded it! Camille style! I still like it better that way...If you go to the video settings and set the custom speed to 1.1 you can hear it sped up like I did for so many years, I think the groove hits a little funkier that way except it doesn't pitch up the voice, so you have to imagine the Camille effect...bootlegs...you never knew what you were gonna get!
