I recently found an old abandoned machine.And trust me you'll learn fast .Bobbins are the tricky part and setting the right tension so you dont end up with birdnests , after a couple days and some cursing you'll get it .I made a cool bag to hold albums .My friends all thought it was awesome but one of them laughed so hard I thought he was gonna faint .Have fun and make your Dad a shirt once you figure it out .But when you do your first seam you'll be happy as pie .One more thing you'll learn is your machine has a backstich button to start and end your seems with .Ciao .
The machine is fine and very capable, its a keeper. You need to push the bobbin right down and slide it back so the nylon stop sits between the bobbin flanges, it should stop when the bobbin is full but you only really need to half fill it for average jobs. That aluminium disc with the wire loop is a simple needle threader, feed the wire loop through the needle eye from the back, then pass your thread through the loop and pull gently and the thread will pass through nicely, always back stitch at the beginning and end of a row of stitches, it locks the stitches and prevents the stitched seams coming undone. That machine would sew button holes and also buttons on, also zig-zag for stretchy fabrics, they are pretty capable little machines. Have fun, don't cry and enjoy your sewing, you will succeed & surprise yourself :)
Hi was thinking about getting the Singer m1000. I know some machines have the buttonhole stitch on the machine. I don't think this machine has one so how would this machine do a buttonhole? The reason I'm asking was because I was initially debating between this and a brother machine that does have that buttonhole feature. Decided on the m1000 since it was cheaper more budget friendly considering I'm a beginner and who knows how long I'll stick to sewing😅
I bought the same machine, because like everything else seamstress are expensive, I also struggled with threading that needle, I chuckled you said you needed a microscope, I use my camera on my phone to expand the eye. Honey, it took me FOREVER .
@@KDayanne when loading the bobbin you have to have it all the way down. and that white disk should be inside the bobbin. not touching it but between the outer sides. when the bobbin is full it will press against that white disk and stop it from loading. when you side load the bobbin this way it can cause thread tension issues.
Are you still sewing? I realize how long this video has been out. I love love love how real you are in your video. You had me laughing and crying because I had the same problems you did and it made me feel like it was ok I wasn't the only one struggling and I felt so less stupid.
@@KDayanne I do. the Brother LX3817A 17-Stitch Portable Full-Size Sewing Machine, and the Brother LX3817 17-Stitch Full-Size Sewing Machine are one of the best beginner sewing machines, they are cheaper than the singer anyways!
thread snapping is usually a threading problem. often times the thread isnt within the tension discs. i havent watched it all yet but if trying to sew jeans this will struggle. manually turning it will work but not efficient. in which case id suggest buying the 44s. this sewing machine will work for 90% of all other sewing

I can’t get my machine to sew...like when I press the foot pedal nothing happens
the t shape metal thing is a flat blade to take off the needle plate. the second is a needle threader

I have been busy with school and remodeling/ constructing my room so I haven’t been able to use it.
