This is actually a sort of port of their arcade game named Arrow flash which is the Japanese name of the Master System game.
The MD has a game called Arrow Flash I think which is a sequel.
C is the best shot.

You need the right shot too destory certain enemies.
To past stages.
I use too get C all the time thats how good I got.
