Dumisa Nzama Bernie Sanders has been supportive of every socialist regime. Ain't that pretty consistent? That does not make it good. And Bernie hasn't been that consistent either. Five years ago he was against open borders, now he is for them.
Hillary won the Democratic nomination because people thought Bernie couldn't beat Trump? Bernie isn't saying anything now that he wasn't saying then, so what makes his chance to beat Trump any less greater than before? In my opinion, Trump is a lot easier for Bernie to beat than he was before.
Trick Q dunno what that first question is supposed to mean, I made no mention of Hillary. The fact of the matter is Trump’s approval rating is higher than it was when he was elected. He’s most likely going to get even more votes than he did in 2016. Hillary couldn’t beat Trump even with the support of the Dem party, so how could Bernie do it when the party hates him? Remember how the party stole the nomination from him to give it to Hillary? They’re gonna try to do the same thing with Bloomberg.

He's been at it for *so long.* It's genuinely amazing that near the end of his career he sees the ideas he solely fought for in the Senate for decades finally become embraced by a great coalition of Americans. This coalition is what Democratic Socialism is meant to create. American democracy as it stands should in theory always favor the majority, and Bernie is going to put that theory into practice. This is in large part how you create the foundations for the fantastic quality of life statistics in places like Scandinavia, the people there (and to a degree in many other parts of the world) enjoy a kind of freedom that we average Americans could only dream of in our current state. America will finally make good on it's promise of liberty, and hopefully we will one day become a source of peace and reason in the world, rather than war and ignorance.
Matthew Yglesias has really changed his tone towards Bernie this election cycle. I recall him and Vox being aggressively against Bernie in 2016. Good to see them finally come around
Having watched this, there is one thing that is clear: If we want to progress as a country, Bernie needs to stay in the Senate. He's too important to lose him from the senate
Americans? As if the entire world isn't in danger right now. We have more work to do than that, and it will be individual work. Makes me want to crawl in a hole and wait like the rest of you some days, but I won't.
Miss G You know, because only Americans are allowed to vote in the presidential election. Not because he thought, Bernie Sanders is going to solve the climate crisis all alone.
Miss G You sound very self righteous which gets us nowhere. Yes, people should make changes in their daily lives but that ignores the vast pollution emitted by the business sectors of the country. Not to mention introducing legislation and rebates that encourage these lifestyle changes has a greater impact on individuals and their ability to make a lower impact on the climate. All what I said ignores things like grants for green businesses and massive, publicly funded projects designed to reduce pollution. It’s almost like the world’s most powerful nation getting behind solving the climate crisis on a national level instead of doing nothing (worse than nothing) would have a profound effect or something...

@@sylamy7457 lol
Socialism is really bad. I'm from Europe and the idea of socialism is just have a HUGE government, enormous taxes to support that, socialism almost always comes with bureaucracy. And the government can change laws so quick and add laws that are really unnecessary and makes the rule of law just a huge jungle. Micro managing everything which is really bad.
@@sylamy7457 tell that to your police and fire departments, public libraries, waste management facilities and personnel, US postal service, and road/bridges infrastructure.... 👀
@@jijdom there is no such thing as a perfect government anywhere. Right now the US's government is failing their people, so clearly it isn't working - hence the wanting of change in government that Sanders' appeal has on the frustrated people. What doesn't make sense is that @sylamy 123 is saying that a socialist doesn't belong in the United States when there has been socialist services that have benefited the country for decades.
I do not expect Sanders to deliver on every one of his promises, but I do believe his sincerity and passion is genuine and that he will fight for every one of them, even if they ultimately fail. That, I think, is the problem with Obama and the doctrine of bipartisanship. When your starting position is one of compromise, then you've effectively agreed to give up ground ahead of time, giving your opponents a window to demand even more concessions. There is a big difference between being uncompromising and negotiating from a position of strong conviction. Sanders understands this whereas past Democratic administration's haven't.
So it's your way or the highway? No room for dissenting opinions or solutions that benefit all?
Obama found himself in a position where moderate Democrats wanted to water things down, while Republicans felt zero blowback for simply refusing to do their job, refusing to even give things a vote, unless there were deep compromises and benefits to their powerbase. If he complained it was labeled as him being a socialist from Kenya who refused to meet them in the middle. I really hope that Bernie is able to pressure people like Mitch McConnell in a way that they feel, or else his presidency is going to be an opportunity mired in obstruction. I feel like he would be comfortable loudly naming and shaming these people to avoid this, but, we'll see.
@@dwightk.schrute6743 no, we need to play smart. They are going to attempt to gut everything, so you need to start from a high place in order to negotiate down to something that is still good for us. I totally get the "alright, someone's gota be pro-bernie here or we'd look too centrist-y" vibe from Matt tbh.
Having watched this, there is one thing that is clear: If we want to progress as a country, Bernie needs to stay in the Senate. He's too important to lose him from the senate
Americans, elect this man to stop the devastating effects of climate apocalypse!
Americans? As if the entire world isn't in danger right now. We have more work to do than that, and it will be individual work. I speak to people about this literally every day, and almost none of you are willing to make any changes in order to survive. It's disheartening. Makes me want to crawl in a hole and wait like the rest of you some days, but I won't.
Miss G You know, because only Americans are allowed to vote in the presidential election. Not because he thought, Bernie Sanders is going to solve the climate crisis all alone.
Nao!
@@foggetabatit4482 you're absolutely right. As much as I want to believe that switching off the lights and not using air condonditioning is all that we need, at this point the only way to enact change is to get people in power to pass legistlation.
His message is so true and on point. America and the world needs Sanders as president, and his movement calling the shots!
Let's go Bernie2020!
NorwegianDean not better than trump
NorwegianDean.
Yup :) Enough of the liars and cheaters. Bernie is for ...all of us!
rayzur9. Nice insult. Do you insult people often? Well nevertheless, he cares about schmucks like you too :)
Just once I'd love for Bernie to mention how Medicare for all went in Vermont in 2011. Just 1 time please Bernie.
@ I'm sorry he couldn't afford a small loan of a million dollars from his daddy.
Bernie is the only politician I have ever been excited to vote for.
Here after Bernie dropped out. :/
don't worry you can still vote for him
@@S_T_fania vote for him!!
If you vote for him u can acually bring back to the top u still have 5 months left before 2 presidents are left hurry please vote for Sanders he the only candidate that has some sense in him at less

"NO I WON'T YIELD!" Love ya B.
Nut in me daddy Bernie!!!
Venezuela is the latest case study in socialism, Bernie has praised the Soviet Union and Cuba.........essentially collapsed economies......
“ I relate to your childish outrage” is what you mean to say
Real hero of common people. God bless bernie.
@@rgsxyz1105 Could you please explain which specific policies from Venezuela that Bernie is going to implement?
"Once again, I'm asking for your views"
NO REFUNDS.
The human species don’t have time left for those “gradual small changes” now. We don’t just WANT big changes. We NEED them right now. It’s now or never.
If this man wins and actually tries to push his nonsense socialist agenda it will be a civil war and I'll be there :)

Can you explain how the US would replace 80,000GWh of nuclear energy with renowables in Michigan, Ohio, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York by 2022?
Sanders calls for the elimination of all nuclear seeking relicensing... Well guess what 9 plants are doing just that by 2022
The green new deal ends where the math starts.
He should come back into the race. More and more people are realizing how corrupt our government, medical systems and economy are (on both sides) now more then ever. The virus is unwinding and revealing our countries flaws. It’s time to find a better approach. Create a new progressive party, register under independent, do whatever it takes. Our country needs him.
Bernie is a once in a lifetime candidate.
I certainly hope so!
yea the coming of communism in the 21st century
Just like Vladimir Lenin. 👋😯
Let’s go Bernie!! 2020!!
No
We waited 4 years to make this MOVE, that's long ENOUGH. Trump has to go and we need someone that's not like anything we've had before. We need BERNIE 2020
Why does trump have to go hes done a amazing job. I was a democrat but I fermly believe I am now employed because of presidents trumps changes. He has done so much good for a country yet you people provide no reasoning and just throw him out the windows simply cause you dont like the man thats evil there are no statistics or facts behind your opinion just hate.
Latte please provide concrete positive policies and statistics on what trump has done
