  • learn to make protractor yourself with easy steps.
This is unique method to make a protractor using compass and ruler. Its my own invented after lots of efforts, I discovered the measurement ratio from the architectural software "google sketchup" I take a millions of centimeters to find a fine accurate value. After Several days of struggle I able to found a method which is the worlds most accurate method for making protractor.
    formula value: 3.1376067413

  • @Xhopp3r
    @Xhopp3r 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

So you drew a line 20 cm long. Then you divided the 20 cm in half, or two equal parts which gave you 10 cm. Which you didn't explain. The 10 cm mark is the center of your line. Then you used the ruler to open the compass 10 cm. You could have used the half way mark and the end of the line, either end. Then u drew an arch that is 10 cm away from the half way mark of your line. Now to your "invented formula". Since a full circle has 360 degrees, a half circle has 180 degrees. That can be worded as 18 lines going from one end of your original line, around the half circle to the other end. So that is where your 18 comes from in your "invented" formula. Now u said to take the radius of half a circle, which would be the same radius if it was a full circle, which is the same 10 cm u used to open ur compass and draw the half circle. It can be said that the original line u drew is really the diameter of your circle or half circle in this case. So you took the radius, 10 cm and multiplied by a modified pi, then divided the result by the 18 lines you need. The formula for finding the circumference of a circle is 2 x pi x radius To work with your numbers in this case it is actually 2 x 3.14 x 10 which equals 62.8. If we divide that by 36 lines in a full circle, we get 1.74 cm for the opening of the compass. However, because you worked with half circle you simply took out the 2 from the 2 x pi x radius formula and divided the result by 18, because you only need 18 lines for a half circle. That looks like this: 3.14 x 10 /18 which equals to 1.74 cm same as above. So you didn't invent any formula. The formula has been there for thousands of years. With all that said, I did see value in teaching people how to make their own protractor and for that I liked the video. However, I don't get why you had to monkey around with the pi value when it is recognized as 3.14 all over the world. Are you trying to prove that you're really smart and recalculated pi ? If that is the case, you failed in my opinion. There is no copyright infringement if people use it on their own channel. Trying to pass pi's value other than what the scientific community defined it as, is dishonest and teaches people the wrong thing.

    • @NalemithoEasyDrawing
      @NalemithoEasyDrawing  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

u can't imagine how happy I am to see ur comment, I waited a lot and finally I got one. at least there is a person who examine my discovery.
so I can prove my discovery.
      (1) my discovered value of 3.1376067413 isn't a pi value, the pi value is 3.1415926535
      (2) so using my formula according to you with pi value is=1.74532925194 so its wrong value for 10 degree. I'll prove it below.
      (3) using my formula with my discovered value is=1.74311485628 and this is correct value
      (4) as an expert you can understand that first three digits' value doesn't justify the whole formula. suppose if you want to make a huge protractor whose radius is 100 meters. so a tiny difference in value will make it shameful wrong. My discovery is practicable on millions of meters where 100 digits calculator is used.
      (5) :::PROOF::: why pi isn't applicable in situation?
Semicircle arc line is always subject to pi formula right!!
so if u want to make 180 segments of semicircle and mark for every single degree u r right pi value will be used.
but when u divide it with compass in 18 segments, the compass marking is working in strait not completely follow the semi circle line. so you can construct strait lines using compass markings on segments. You can see that the segment's strait line is slightly short than its arc line of semicircle. so we've to use strait line measurement for compass. not the pi value of semicircle arc.
      (6) now coming point is how I discover the accurate value for segment's strait line to be set for compass, you can understand that its not possible to measure it physically for an accurate value. so I've used a windows application "google sketchup" an extraordinary powerful 3d architecture software for my findings.
      (7) Why I didn't give the concept in video?
because video will be more complicated to understand for students. My priority is to make my videos as simple as young students can copy my methods. I've just teach them how to make your own protractor. so you can experiment on you children they will copy it easily an able to remember the method.
Finally I'm very thankful to you for giving me opportunity to prove my discovery, I request you please watch some other videos on my channel, those are also my own invented and first time in world. eg. geometrical apple, geometrical heart shape, moon etc.

Whether you get a value of 1.74532925194 using pi, or a value of 1.74311485628 not using pi, there is no way to mark that many decimals on the ruler. The most you can do is 1.7 or 1.8 or you can try squeezing the tip of your pencil or pen between 7 mm and 8 mm markings on the ruler, but then you can still be off.
I guess if you had a digital caliper maybe you can get up to 3 maybe 4 digits. But even with that, if you're talking about millions of kilometers or miles, you would still be off after a while if you don't include all the decimals in the calculations.
There is no closeup of the ruler when you open your compass for the 1.74311485628 setting.
I assume you used the 1 cm and 7 mm marking on your ruler.
If you did, there is no way it came out right.
If you used the 1 cm and 8 mm marking, it would still be wrong.
If you used the 1 cm and 6 mm marking it would be wrong.
Somewhere you must have changed something.

oh my dear first you were not agree with my discovery, and now you are excusing for a road map.
1:) When I teach in this video I told them 1.743 cm. Its quite possible to get 1 cm and 7.4mm but not a 12 digit accuracy, because its impossible with ordinary ruler.
2:) Why I give the extra accuracy value?
because I'm not cracking a joke, Its math and I can't give rough estimates with a small ruler.
3:) Is it possible to get 10 digits accuracy and how we test it?
Yes its possible and you can test it yourself, use a curtain cloth for making a big protractor, no need to cut the curtain just mark with tailor chalk. apply my formula and you can see in calculations several digits after decimal point will be convert to whole numbers and in case of making even more larger protractor the digits after decimal point will decrease to zero and you will need to upgrade the unit to metres instead of cm.
3:) how big I have made my protractor in sketchup?
I've made about a 100 million inches 360 degree protractor in sketchup. and able to get 12 digits accuracy.
4:) Is sketchup powerful to manage such big measurements?
off course yes, models for modern cities, playgrounds, big offices and platforms are possible in this software.

I went ahead and made one just for fun. I used the 1.7 cm measurement. It worked just fine. I even took my time to cut it out and rub oil on it. Then I started building another using just a ruler and a compass. I used the oiled protractor to check the angles on the other protractor. It works. One day i will get into sketchup to checkout ur discovery. If you haven't done a video on making a protractor using a compass to find the angles, maybe you should. I had a lot of fun doing both. Anyways, you should be able to pick the lines of an angle and draw a line between them to make a triangle. Once you have the triangle, use the pythagorean theory to verify the accuracy of your findings. Alright, keep up the good work in getting people interested in math.
