Sharpness and details, also the night time quality are way better on Mini 2.
Very slight improvement. Night time is slightly better in the mini2
are you telling me the v3 is smaller with a bigger screen and better video quality??
I think the mini 2 is better over all, it's really the nighttime where you see the benefit. At 1:00 as the car gets closer the V3 brightness is washed out. The Mini 2 is smaller in volume overall I believe but its deeper instead of flat with a large footprint. If I had to choose one the mini 2 all the way for overall better video and more features. Although I wish it was flatter.
I really thought the old model was still winning out! thanks for the added feedback@@integralcam
Only difference I see is in blown out hightlights. When the sun is hitting the glass building the Mini2 does better. At night the stop lights and anything the headlight shines against looks much better with the Mini2. The othere 90% of the time the IMX335 sensor looks a little better in my opinion. Right now there is $20 difference, I'd probably go with the Mini2 just because of that better night image and it being a newer model.
Actually, the V3 looks better or just as good. There is 'no' significant difference in the : Sony STARVIS 2 Sensor 5MP IMX675 and the Sony STARVIS IMX335 5MP Sensor. As for nighttime footage: 'Very little difference'.
I could agree that the difference is pretty minor, I do think the Mini 2 adds a lot of new features that it's finally a A119 worth upgrading to if you've had an older model for several years. But the V3 has also had years of firmware updates and tweaking, the Mini 2 picture quality could get better over the next couple years.

Viofo should try to fix the boot issue, 'too long'.
I don't see any improvement...
